Anyone have any idea what car I can source the hot wheels real rider 5-spokes in black from?

From me. Do you need them urgently? I have both big & littles. Remember I have your horrible Fiesta and Escort over here. I can send them with those.

EDIT: Refer to here.

Let me get back to you. I may just pay you to send that out this weekend. The car I am putting them on is in the mail to me right now.

Yup, don't worry, just tell me what you need as soon as you know and I'll send it out. The axles are not going anywhere

Has anybody ever printed license plates for their Hot Wheels, Matchbox, or Tomica? It looks very cool, and adds a little bit of realism to the cars.

Here are some examples. Sorry for the poor quality, these were taken with an iPhone :/ But here is a plate on a custom AE86 Corolla, Tomica CX-5, and Corvette Stingray.

*Trying to revive this forum* So, here is a custom I just got done with. Just a simple repaint and wheel swap, but I think it came out really well. I'm currently working on making a decal for the head/tail likes. Seeing as it is a Tomica, it was a little hard to get the wheels to sit and be able to roll without the bottom of the car scraping the ground, but I figured it out. If anybody has any GYE10SP or LW wheels, I'd like to speak with you.

If I had the computer and printer to do it, I could make them for 1/4 that cost or much less. He kept saying something about "setting up the artwork, blah, blah". Give me a PC, photoshop, good printer and some decal paper and I can do them myself. :indiff:

I know this is an EXTREMELY late reply, but does anyone know what material he used to make the custom bumpers and such on the BMW? I'd love to try it.

Simple low-tech job:

The lowered ends are the most prominent feat., with the front lowered more than the back.

Did in the tail lights, albeit sloppy.

Front grills coloured in as well.

The silly detracting flame decal over the black stripe was covered up.

This was originally scrapped so I could stock up on MC5 wheels, but I got hooked to this certain lime green, and now it's been redone.

Very good, Andy. Just my kind of quick customs. Altough I'm very sure it wasn't precisely "quick" to get that stinkbug stance. Did you by any chance took a picture of the chassis after you were done with the front? I have one of those lying around and I indeed want to drop the stance too.

As for the Green, you did well:

My only gripe is that you should have masked up and spray-paint the black to cover the flame tampo instead of using a brush, but otherwise, pretty damn cool 👍 if I find one of these I'm totally gonna steal your idea.

You're right. It wasn't "quick" quick. It was simple and on the "mild" category, if you will.

I coloured the tampo with a marker because I got lazy about it. :P The chassis has been shaved down because the original forces the front axles to be stupidly-wide. It only took a dremel to create a larger opening. I didn't adjust the axles, because I got lazy once again. :P

Thanks for them compliments, guys. I appreciate it.

It's a compound called polymorph I think or could be just filler..polymorph makes plastic with pellets and hot water.

Avolon could I ask what paint you are using it look quite thick
Thick in a good way or a bad way? I LOVE Krylon, but it is a little more expensive but definetly worth it. I also use Rust-oleum, which works great on Hot Wheels. Plus they have a TON of colors.

Do you boobs like the Wild Thing? I've got a blue one. It might make you wild for something pretty mild.

I was going to colour the base too, but I decided to keep a toy-like appearance with the complimentary colours. For this I polished it to a shine like I did with my other two cars and I used an anodized spray paint which essentially tints the previous finish with a colour. I guess I did the coats too heavy and I ended up with a satin metallic finish instead. I was looking forward to a blue-chrome car. That would've been pretty cool. :(

I feel like this thread is slowly starting to die :indiff:

It's just that some of us don't have that much free time to fiddle around with customs. Others, like AOS- and myself, maintain blogs about this stuff in which we share our progess and creations, not necesarily here. As @Apok said, the thread has been going strong for two years, so don't worry. We're not going anywhere.

You should have. It would have looked smashing 👍
