I could if I was going to paint over it to cover up the spot filler/putty. I could just sand down the metal until the surface is smooth alternatively, but I wasn't planning to devote that much time into it.

Alright then. I'll have the pics posted shortly.

Before:
Yamaha YZF "ThunderAce" 1000
(Painted exhaust black before I took the pic)

After:
(I removed the bikes fairings to give it the streetfighter/stunt bike look)

(Sorry if the quality was inadequate, the pics were taken with an iPhone.)

Here's #2.

Yamaha YZF-R1

Before:

(I painted the bikes gas cap and exhaust black before these were taken, sorry. The lower part of the gas tank, just below the Yamaha symbol on the gas tank, was also painted black.)

(The painted exhaust & gas cap turned out pretty good IMO.)

After:
(Fairings removed, again to give the bike the clean streetfighter/stunt bike look. Also, front brake discs removed to give the bike a clean black appearance. Front mud-guard thingy also removed.)

Let me know what you guys think!

Ground FX

Ah, it reminds me of one Ahmed did a while ago, only he went full bananas and had it chromed up, then polished to mirror finish. Looked pretty insane. Now that your car reminded me of it I'll try and convince him to make a set of racing tampos for it.

I'm sure if I sanded the surface with high-grit and rubbed in polishing compound to smooth the surface before applying the metal polish, the finish would've been even closer to a mirror finish than it is now. I just didn't have the patience since I'm getting so many hours at work lately.

Here's another one I finished recently:

So just like the last Aston, these have been lowered. I will admit I got lazy and just shaved off a lot of material so the wheels are in fact making contact with the body. It does not roll, but it's going up in the picture frame so it ain't going anywhere anyway! Unlike the last Aston though, the grills, vents and tail lights have been coloured in, and I also swapped both their wheels since their stock counterparts didn't look fitting at all. I wanted to do 10SPs, but I had none on me at the time.

The one with BBSs looks great.

Also, I forgot how quickly aluminum tube heats up when you're cutting it with the Dremel. And how much it heats up too. My finger's itched for two days.

I get that too with brass tubes too. What I do is I let off the dremel every few seconds and blow on it to cool it down quicker. The less pressure I apply, the less friction there is and thus less heat produced.

Just grab it with a rag and you're set.

"vhttp"... my bad. but it's a simple fix tbh.

Plus, Bare Metal Foil Co. sells decal paper. I bought some from them before.

Double whammy.

In trash molde finishing up the cars for tomorrow's custom contest held @ Hot Wheels Mexico Club's bimonthly get-together. Sadly, I could not get my main project done in time, and since it's a pretty complex project, I'll take my time and finish it for the Convention. Fortunately, my "secondary" projects are pretty decent, so I have a good chance of landing a top-3 finish. I hope.

I'll post pics tomorrow when the contest is done.

Good luck! :)👍
