I was just looking at that Renault you restored earlier Cano.;) You really did a great job with it!:)đź‘Ť Can't wait to see some more customs from you!đź‘Ť

Hey AOS, that pic of the time machine DarkAvenger posted, actually looks real close to your custom, i know it looks like it's been dipped in an acid bath, but you've done a real great job man. đź‘Ť

Where's the rest of the pics? i want to see it from different views.

I see an epic 2-car custom set incoming... :sly:

Working on it like I said... only finished these other images so I'll feed you these first while I work on the Delorean right now.

Everyone here likes Nascar wheels... Going the extra $4 to gut a Spin Master nascar than another Studebaker is totally worth it. The difference isn't big in photos, but IRL, it so is. :)
Sorry man but you really could have come up with a better name.

I generally don't go creative with names that describe what it is I do because I want viewers (not just you guys, maybe some other people in the future) to immediately understand what it is. It can't be some wacky name because it sounds completely irrelevant then. With that said, I'll try to come up with a less boring name eventually.

And the Viper and Carrera GT are good swaps because they look like their respective factory wheels. Though I'd point that out.

The image is big, so to save you all the headache of loading a huge image every time, the preview image you see here is low-res.

oh and the main reasonwhy I even wanted to do this is because:

it can hang around my computer.

Sorry, I just read that. Many thanks dude, I'll post another restoration job soon, just gotta finish the pics.

Holy crap, what size bit did you use on that?

He built a house with that, omg.

it can hang around my computer.
You should make a dangler out of that.

I used to have little tie fighter dangler that, in this case, attached to windshield with a suction cup. Like here & here.

Very cool! đź‘Ť

My paint stripper just told me I have a paper cut. :irked:

Cano, you and your paint guy may have already experimented with this, but has anyone tried to sandblast bodies?

Nothing special about sandblasting metal.

Holy crap, what size bit did you use on that?

Some big fat engraving bit, it's ball-shaped and cuts faster than a drill, and if you didn't know already, I cut open a lot of cars at once so I really don't want to spend any more time than I have to for disassembly. Usually, my customs don't have anything to do with the bottom, but this tie I included it, but I probably shouldn't for the weathered series.

lol wut
How did you attach it to that... erm, thing?

My wish was to tap the back rivet wasn't put a long screw into it, but I don't have anything like that, so I just superglued a piece of thin acrylic to the base of the car (hence why I took photos to show you guys), which then was glued to the arm of the doll stand.

One of my dad's coworkers just opened up a small powdercoating shop in his garage, so I think I'm gonna try to get him to powdercoat cars to see how the come out.
I've also been playing around with the idea of taking some cars to a plating shop and maybe get them plated or at least quoted. I couldn't imagine getting a few cars done will cost much.

Edit: Who said you have to use sand?

Powdercoating works amazing on metals. Dad told me about how awesome it is over dinner one time since his job currently is to powdercoat furniture. Sticks on more evenly and easily than liquid paints.

Powder coating is ok, but blasting the car with anything hard will damage it. People have been customizing cars forever and nobody does it. That should tell you some thing.

Also, powder coating might end up being really thick.

I'll give a cast to my dad and ask him to talk to that guy for me.
Or, why don't you ask your dad Andy?

That's fine. I won't see my dad until Friday anyway and probably won't get an answer from that guy until my dad either goes to work on Saturday or Monday.
