ATTENTION! For those of you who play GT with a wheel, what do you guys attach it to? Ex: a table, one of those fancy sim racing chairs, etc...I'm considering purchasing one of the Logitech wheels when GT5 comes out and would know the optimum set-up for a wheel. Thanks.

i'll be playing in my SEGA driving cabinet that i fiddled with and made compatible with ps3 (and pc/ps2).. it has a real arcade force feedback motor- 100 times better than anything you can buy over the counter- so no messing around lol!

more info here..!

That is how I want so set up my rig,one of the worries is of course the size of the monitor,I have play arcades several times and the screens are like 32",I will love to assemble in a 42" in that space.

in my case,I would have to order the thing with pre-defined measures and think out the wholes and boxes for the wiring and the slots for ports,is somehow really complicated, specially if you disassemble the steering wheel to make it fit into the "structure"

(BTW god job with the wiring and the assembly, its really hard work to do)

G27 and my new 46 inch 3D Samsung

(Napoleon dynamite Voice) Luckyyy  Thats whats up man! I know your going to have a great time 👍 Im saving up for the that Sony 3D Bravia 55 inch the wife thinks Im crazy and hates the ideal because we got a 52 Samsung 240hz already with another 46 in our room, but I dont have one for my new game room. Shes like "play it on the living room TV!" So I have to save on the low shhhhh :mischievous: I have everything else though expect I got to get a new wheel my pedals broke. :ouch: A lot of folks have great setups in this thread we all are going to have a wonderful time playing GT5 this NOV!

Can't go wrong with the wheelstand pro.
Very adjustable. Sturdy. Folds away in under 20 secs.

Great investment and fantastic service. (I've got two).

It depends. If I am racing NASCAR, then it will be with a DS3, other races will be with my DFP, all will be on my 24" HD PC monitor.

At the moment I have one of those folding chairs with a cup holder, a small folding table for the wheel (perfect height for the chair, creates a very natural driving position) 22inch HDTV 1080p (biggest I can realistically get on my shelf unit) and of course, the Driving Force GT wheel.
I would prefer to be using a playseat by the time GT5 gets to us and possibly make the purchase of a G25 or G27 but we shall see.

I plan on buying a new Sony HDTV and slim PS3 along with upgraded HDD and Harmony remote. Just need the cash. The two whole weeks sat in my rig playing GT5.

Sixaxis and 14" SDTV

Oh yeah, livin' the dream! >__>
I am saving up for something a bit more, well, good, so hopefully this setup will change somewhat by November

Here is my new rig I just finished. Ford Focus seat with custom 80/20 extruded aluminum with a G27.

Also is there a homemade thread for cockpits?

@trk29, why not create that little green car into a gt5 simulator?

By the way, what kind of parts did you use to create the cockpit? They seem to be easy to make, just measure, cute and combine with some brackets or whatever the things are.

And yes there is a homemade thread, but its called cheap alternatives..

The material is called 80/20 pretty expensive stuff. I got it from work because there was scrap from projects so I got to take it home. You are right just measure and cut and install with brackets from them or make your own.

Thanks for the link.

80/20 The Industrial Erector set

Curious if anyone uses a Playseat Evolution. If so please leave your feedback. Thanks!

Yes, and its awesome.
I think its the best bang for the money you can buy. Comftable, very sterdy, very easy to install. You feel like sitting in a race car. I think its a great buy 👍

Alright. Thanks for the feedback man. I'm considering getting the Playseat once Christmas comes by. :D

I am getting an LG LED HD 1080P screen today; with 100Hz TruMotion, LED technology, 3.000.000:1 contrast ratio. This screen looks awesome. Plus I'll be able to connect my 360, PS2, Laptop, Blu-ray player AND my PS3 to it! It's an awesome set.

And obviously I'll have my DFGT and WSP :)

We just got a 55" Samsung LED ultra slim last week, its incredible. We decided on this rather than dishing out extra for 3D due to the fact 3D will cause headaches when viewing for long periods of time - I will do atleast 6-8 hour GT5 sessions

Same here, I tried 3D, looks great and will probably look awesome with GT5, but I'd rather have a very good LED and leave it at that, just like you. :)

using my DFGT on a wheelstand pro (when it arrives), on my 42" panasonic viers plasma screen, which is now optimised thanks to someones thread on here, cheers btw
