I was wondering that after all this long wait, countless speculations and secrecy is gt5 going to have enough material to keep us all occupied and amused and is going to be worth waiting all that time.

Please share your thoughts of how many hours of play you think or want in gt5.

It includes from start to the 100% completion of the game.

Impossible to say, any full fledged GT has more or less unlimited play time, even after 100% you can still race, buy and collect cars, tune cars and so on.

I bet i will play it for 150 hours minimum, probably even way more (note i dont play that often, so thats a big number for me).

Today in HD gaming. We have Action/adventure and shooters as long as 8 hours on average. Multilayer adds additional 10-20 hours.

With RPGs We see a game adding about 20-40 hours

With GT5, it can be both as racing and RPG because you collect, and upgrade your cars, as well we will have online play with all the promises.. hmm about 100 hours plus.

Same here. Easily, I have spent around 1600 hours playing GT4. I believe I may have put around 3200 hours in total, and that's only with 4 hours a day. My average would be around 5 hours a day. :D

So, I expect GT5 to work the same or better. After all, online playing opens up a lot of possibilites.

with the ease of ps3 online capability coupled with the old forum challenges like buy any car you would not normally drive and take it to the ring and describe your experience stuff. unlimited up to and past gt6 if you so choose i suppose.

For me thats the big draw for Gran Turismo
PGR-2-3-4 and Forza 2 were completted to quickly
and after all the races were won i went back to GT4

Hey not all shooters last that little. I personally was able to spend about 150 hours already in simply Metal Gear Online, without counting the tons of times I've beat the game. So I would say about 230+hours

But back on topic, I really don't know how much time I will spend in GT. Let's see, I play GT5P since it came out in the US for at least 30 mins to 1 hour everyday, unless special days in which I don't play, so I would say, a whole lot of time is going into GT5, at least from my part.

-> Hmmm...hard to say in actuality. I for one will not to try to finish the game, but I will be collecting and gather each cars data through time attacks. And this will be multiplied into 10 times once a version of its infamous G25 version for PS3 (G25GT/GT25/G27/etc.).

I'm sure i'm not the only one that has logged damn near/more than 1000 hours in GT5:P, i'm actually quite scared of what my GT5 numbers are gonna look like when its all said and done.

There are still some people playing GT2, even after GT5P which is like almost 10 years newer, so GT5 is a game to be played till you die or get infiniteley bored ata a point where you wont play it again (Almos impossible)

What about the potential for races and championships available through DLC? With these rumours of DLC, then perhaps it will also include races. After all, we did get new OL events in Prologue.

if this game has cars mods and stuff hours a day, al be driving a real car in a few months :), haha saxo with a sub in the boot

Personally with GT4 I have far and away more playtime than any other game ever played. I am still playing another game, on and off now.

However, this has been due primarily to the Aspec point feature which is supposedly not in GT5.
Even so, if it is a much larger game as rumored, it may be as good for play duration as GT4, who knows maybe more.

GT5P was barely a blip on the radar screen of playtime.

/\ I'm the same way as you Cobra Jet. I spent atleast what 250 hours in GT5P so far, barely anything. In the early GT4 WRS days I was logging 20 hours a week on GT4 did that for about 2 years SOLID and that was after I spend 2 months getting 100% done, plus still playing for 'fun' and many GT tourneys along the west coast over the years. I only stopped playing GT4 for good last October (2008). Man thats what 4 years, wow. GT5 will likely last me 5 years at least if its done right. I for one don't need 700 cars, I'd rather have more real life tracks available including every other track ever created in previous GT games (available forward AND reverse, thank you *cough*-Laguna-*cough*).

Are you talking offline and online? If you are, it will probably last until GT6 arrives! I say this because we are supposedly going to get DLC with GT5. In my opinion it will last for a very long time. (5 years:sly:)

GT is the type of game you can keep on playing and have fun doing it even after you've finished it 100%. So for me I'll keep playing and playing and playing until GT6 as many others have said.

As others have said, I'm still playing GT4 periodically, and that was a day one purchase for me. Still haven't raced an enduro.

If you took a stopwatch and timed the average good player who completed GT5 100%, I think 5-600 hours isn't unlikely. And as for many us here, no limit.
