How many times have you beat the same championship to...

I must have done the Motegi 8 Hours Endurance 8-10 times (in Bspec) before I got my black Honda NSX-R LM Edition Road Car

I never raced a championship several times only to get a different color. Or perhaps in my early GT3 days.
The only championship I ran several times in GT4 is the DTM (probably 50 or 60 times) to sell the prize AMG race car and get an easy 900,000 Cr. (Car sale + race money).

But thats not even the worst. I had to do the classic muscle car race over 20!!!!!! times to get that Superbee in orange (vitamin c). For me that car just HAS TO BE orange. 💡 But to not race that championship over 20 times myself, i took the buick special '62, tuned it to something over 800 hp and b-speced the championship after the fifth time.
Welcome to GTP. :)
If you have the superbee in orange can you please post some really good photomode pics of it and put it into my "Orange car or truck pics" thread???
To answer your question. Yes I have tried a couple events over and over again to get the car color I wanted. After a couple tries I just use B-spec.

@camaroboy69

why do you like trucks
there useless
Who said I liked trucks? Its a thread for orange VEHICLES. Go away no one wants to hear you argue how cars are better than trucks in this thread.
I have respect for every vehicle. There is good and bad about everything. I wont reply to a comment like this again in here. You also spelled there wrong. It is they're or they are.

i've done the suzuki concept cup more then 20 times and i still don't have the red gsxr

funny, i got it the first time, i raced the cup^^
But i raced the Japanese 90s Events 10 times so far, but i still didn't get the red 400R!

i think i drove the 200km new york about 20 - 30 times and i still haven't got a red charger superbee..........*damn other colours*
Currently in the very same process, but I'm aiming for either the Hemi-Orange or the Dark Blue Metallic... some ten tries now. One more of those atomic waste greens and I'll get seriously mad. :irked:

Sorry for resurrecting such a dead thread but this part of the game is a royal pain in the bottom, why couldn't they make it like "congratulations, you won the race, we'll give you a prize car, please choose the colour of your liking"?

Once the car is owned, you should be able to choose it in Arcade mode, and this will list all available colours for most cars. I believe that some aren't listed, eg. the Black Beauty models aren't available in black in Arcade mode or something like that, but it works with the FGT car.

Otherwise, in career mode, if the car is in the new or legendary section of the manufatcurer's page, just select it as though you're trying to buy it, and check the colours.

So whatever color i see in the manufactuer's page the car can be either bought or won in all those color's?.....is that correct?.

Yup that's correct. If the colour is selectable in the manufacturer's page or in the arcade page, then you can either buy or win the car in that colour. I do not think there are any exceptions to that rule, though the inverse is false: on selected models it is possible to win or buy the car in a colour which does not appear on the manufacturer's or arcade pages (the black beauty LMP and Group C racers available in the used lots eg. Mazda 787B, the black Formula GT you get at 100%, the special gold Aston DB9 you get when you win the Aston challenge, etc).

I did a lot of color collecting before my data was corrupted. Some of the series I was lucky like all four Scooby Super Touring in 4 tries but others like the BMW 2002 and the FTO Super Touring took me quite a few tries. Never did get the silver FTO. I also collected colors of the older used cars. I loved the Maple Orange Isuzu's.

i did the one to get the dodge super bee about 15 times just to get that car in orange
i have to say it was so worth it tho
now im ganna get it in light blue

This thread raises an interesting question.

Many people, including myself, would like to see a Paint Shop option in future GT games - as this would not only let you at any time change the color of your car, but would uncluttered our garages as we would not have to "collect" different color versions.

That said, there is something to be said for encouraging players to race the same series over and over again to get different colored cars. Without that incentive, I can see how it might lower the replay value of the game somewhat, at least for some types of players.

Perhaps one possible solution is that a specific color must first be won, before it becomes available at the paint shop. Thus, there is still an incentive to re-race series in order to unlock the different color choices in the paint shop for that model car.

The same could be true for "special" colors, which once earned, would also become available at the paint shop, so you can change its color to a standard version, but still be able to change it back to a special color when you feel like a change.

This would not only keep the incentive of re-racing series, but also allow you to have only one model car instead of filling your garage with the same models with different color schemes.

Ha. This reminds me of a near half-month wasted on the New York enduro to get the Black Superbee. I did the race 37 times.

You could have the option to buy liveries, e.g. An Audi R8 but with the Champion or Goh colours. That would be pretty good. You could also have customised paintjobs as well, so that you can make your own livery.

0 times - because i just wanna get my % up for now...

but i am happen to be partcial to black cars and got all the limited edition black cars :P - that took ages to get all that money in that time lol

Well, well worth it, all 4 of them own - i prefer the nissan R92CP the most though.

I did the Midget race 8 times before I finally got the third colour 1963 Midget. (cream; the most milk-truckiest of all the colours, although both the other colours are pretty milk-trucky too).

I have actually no idea how many times I raced what to obtain whichever car! I must have raced the SL challenge some 20 times to get the SL 300 in white! And I´m really sick of the roadster 4hrs enduro...must have done it 15 times before I got the black RX-7 LM!
But I´m a patient guy...I have kind of color collected all 733 cars in my garage... Germans in silver, Italians in red, British in green etc!

I collect colors and for me a paint shop would ruin that because the possibilities would become infinite and collecting pointless. I doubt that would completely put me off the game but I also cringe at the thought of spending alot of time in some sort of playstation photo shop detailing my cars' graphics. Racing to win different colors (even if it's only b-speccing) seems more fun than a paint shop. I do think it's inevitable we will get a paint shop though. I expect there will be paint shop "specialists" and many of us will get our racing liveries from them because our own will look disappointingly amateurish. I'm very optimistic yes?

I did that too, but much of it was b-spec - and the New York enduro wasn't a waste! I had four pages of Super Bees at one point and not a single black one! I love my black Super Bee - but it wouldn't be nearly as special if I had just painted it in a paint shop.

I thought I adressed that as well in the rest of the post that wasn't quoted:

So those that like to "collect" colors still can, those that do not and prefer to have a less crowded garage full of the same models can do that as well while still having access to the standard paint jobs. Everyone wins. 👍

Sorry DN, I really did read your whole post the first time. I just thought I'd express myself. Your argument is sound, my disagreement illogical, yet I still feel the same way! We'll see how it turns out. Right now I am racing my black '98 Integra and my red '95 hoping a good silver '98 and a white '95 show up in the used car lots next time around ...

I've done many races over to get that certain color. The one that probably annoyed me the most were the muscle car races in the American Hall. I wanted a select few Superbirds - Sublime, Canary Yellow (I think that is the color; yellow anyway), Tor Red, and Orange. It seemed everytime I did the race I got every color except the one I wanted. I'm so glad I had the old race cars because I got so fed up with doing it over and over again that I used them in B-spec mode. I've also done the (Hot Rod?) races to get all four Camaro race car colors. The black one was the hardest. I never did get the color Dodge Super Bee I wanted, but I'm not going to do endurances again and again, even in B-spec. The one that made me the most mad, though, was the Prowler. I did that series over and over until I got the orange color only to find out that car was "Special." :ouch:

Argh, I'm guilty of the roadster enduro.

I have a loads of different colour RX-7's ranging from orange, green, blue, yellow, white and silver, but I still can't get the black one. I've had 2 greens and two oranges. :\

I think they all look great. :D

Just started doing a weekly b-spec rerun of the Nurb 24h, in search of a fine Orange FGT car. First re-attempt got the blue / white one to accompany the grey / black one I originally won (now with 11000 miles on the odo)

Decided today would be my last attempt at getting the black mazda, and I got it! Took 3 more attempts, but in doing so I also managed to get a red one after being given another yellow one, so with the black one I now have the RX7 LM race car in every colour!

That's a good idea. And even if you don't get the color you want, there's a fair bit of profit between the prize money and the sale of the FGT :) 👍 I still need the orange one too (and the blue one).

Congratulations  that black one is pretty nice - well, actually they all look good...

Yeah, they are. :D The black one reminds me of one of those modified Need For Speed Police Pursuit Cars.

Would have been nice to have held an RX-7 LM Race Car Cup had there been an online mode, but oh well!

Update: Now doing the race twice weekly in search of the Orange FGT car. So far I've added the yellow / black one, the red one and the purple / white one to my collection.
Did I mention that my favourites are, in order; Orange, blue, and white? (that's blue and white on different cars, not on mixed together on the same car)

Bonus, as Hypnotoad said, is that my bank balance is looking extremely healthy, and I haven't sold any of the FGT cars yet! I won't sell one unless I get a double. My Black / grey one has now exceeded 20000 miles, so it's well into used car territory... no apparent performance drop yet, though its value has indeed dropped. Doesn't cost me any time to get it running either. I just get it going the pervious night and it's just about finished when I get home from work the next day. Had a bit of a scare with the last run though. I chose a-spec instead of b-spec! :dopey: No probs, I thought, I'll just cruise around a lap and then pit and hand over. It's not like it's going to jeopardise Bob's chances of winning... so I sat down in the chair, put my foot down on the accelerator, crossed the start line, and nothing happened. I turned the wheel, still nothing happened. Then I remembered that I unplug the wheel before I b-spec this event so that it's not under power for no reason. That left me with the DS2 :yuck:

One hairy lap later, I hand over to Bob who goes off to win the event by many laps while I sit shaking in the corner. I know some people on this forum , using a DS2, can compete with the best wheel users in any car on any track. I had a lot of respect for those people. Now I have even more.
