How many would actually like to see this electric car in GT5

Or how about the Jag C-X75 concept shown in Paris.:)

From Car Magazine:

A diesel range-extender Jaguar supercar!

You read that right. The C-X75 uses a pair of micro-turbines acting like a diesel-fed range-extender and Jaguar claims this solution means this concept car is even cleaner than contemporary hybrids with carbon dioxide emissions of just 28g/km.

Each of the four electric motors nestles in the wheel hub (each weighs just 50kg) and the supercar element of the C-X75 becomes apparent when you look at the claimed performance figures: there’s 780bhp on tap and a frankly bonkers 1578lb ft. Figures we’re slowly getting used to in this electric age.

Or this electric beauty, the British build Lightning GT.

There's lots of performance hybrids coming out. I Guess GT6 will have a ton of em...
Like the new BMW one

One thing for sure, electric cars rule for drag racing! Near flat torque curve and instant pickup from zero RPM

0-60mph in 2.95 secs

in 1 sec...

Quote from the Simpsons:

"Hi, I'm The Electric Car, I Can't Go Very Fast Or Very Far, And If You Drive Me, People Will Think That You're Gay."

By the way I find the Tesla Roadster really cool!

Oh yeah, blame the Simpsons not me.

battery backs will swapable in racing cars(and in normal cars after some time)

What would the pit stops look like? I would drive the car in the game but those 1930's era tiers could make it no fun at all. Porsche and Jaguar got the right idea.

So what your asking is, do I want a car that i can race for a lap and a half, then recharge in the pits for 8 hours. Sure why not.

Id like to see it just for the sake of it, then we could have a race round the Nurburgring Electric only to see how far they can go, Hmmm crap idea lol

Tesla will run a 300km enduro on a single charge (no pits for fuel!), and do 0-60 in 3.7, and is thought to handle very well. Not sure about any other EVs, don't care about hybrids.

PS on a 220 line it charges in under 4 hrs

Is Tajima Motor Corporation due to Nobuhiro Tajima, a.k.a. "Monster", the Pikes Peak legend?

If he's behind it, maybe it's something special after all?
A bit like Gordon Murray's latest project...

It's not electric, but it could be, I'm sure :dopey:

EDIT: The T27 is meant to be the electric equivalent. It's not a sports car, per se, but it is meant to be entertaining and has race-derived tech in it :P

What about the Tango Commuter Car?

tango.jpg

The stats surprised me when it was released:
0–60 mph (0–96 km/h): 4 seconds
¼ mile (0.4 km): 12 seconds @ over 120 mph (193 km/h)
Top speed: 150 mph (240 km/h)

Looking at it, i'm guessing it will fail at going through fast turns.

All this talk of electric vehicles begs the question about when they need to pit for fuel or rather plug into the national grid in the pits lol

I can see electric cars races taking a very long time to finish due to the cars needing a 4 hour charge half way through.

I don't think any race team that would race an electric car would wait around for a plug in recharge. Commonsense would dictate a quick battery swap if pitting was required to race on to the finish or find some other solution like an onboard generator. :dopey:

Are you deliberately feigning being slow? :odd:

You'd swap them out as a pack... it's not like it's got 1500 "AA" cells that need would be swapped individually. ;)

Perhaps these packs would have to be specially developed for motorsport and how you charge them is an issue, too. What's the point of an electric vehicle charged off a little diesel-powered electric generator? I suppose we could assume these things are "addressed" in the game.

Haha i think its more a case of im trying to be as useful as an electric car i.e not very lol, But even so don't the batteries in a Tesla weigh a tonne literally I mean they will take some shifting even for a few strong men haha

Use your imagination man. You never heard of a dolly or hand truck? :dopey: If they can lift the front and backenf of a F1 car to change the tires they can lift a heavy battery pack.

Haha but even with the pivot effect its still gonna be jolly heavy and very cumbersome not to mention abit tricky getting the mountain of batteries out and on to the trolly

^Small crane....problem solved.
It would be do-able in about 30 seconds if you had 2 cranes(one for removal and one standing by to replace the pack).

Or, if you wan't to be ridiculous about it you could borrow a trick from Bumper cars and run an electrically charged metal screen above the surface of the whole track......Just want to make it clear that second part was a joke.

EDIT: I don't really care about the electrics, but if they find a way around the whole charge problem then they could be pretty fun, even if I do only use them just for driving and not actual racing.

Suicide on wheels

I thought one of the concept vehicles in GT4 was all electric? If so then how did it do endurance races? I am in the middle of my last endurance race in GT4 right now (I dusted my PS2 off and plugged it in to hold me over) but when it's finished I have some research to do.
