How much is a fair price for new downloadable cars?

I'd probably have to say 2 bux per car. I would probably rather have them sell cars individually as to selling in a pack as I probably only desire one of the fives cars in the pack.

Yeah, because I traded in all my LPs for discounts on the same albums on CD.

(In retrospect, this isn't a very good analogy. There are lots of places where you can trade in LPs.)

Better version:

Yeah, I got a discount on a CD because I bought the same album on LP before.

While that's an interesting point, it only reminds me how much I hate the way the music industry screws you over left and right...

Considering the game cost $50 and contains 200 premium and 800 standard cars, I'd go for about a 6-pack of premium cars, or a dozen standard for for $2.50.

Standard->Premium conversions of existing GT5 cars should be free.

If you bought this game and prologue you gave PD and Sony (in ameros) 39.99 + 59.99 + 6.5% (in my state) ~~ $107 which for you europeens is proly 150 euros (I love how that conversion works, don't you). So in sum we have all ponied over 120 smackers give or take for a demo and a beta...

There better not be any DLC besides the 6gb "patches". I didn't know nicotine patches could fix arterial hemorrhages.

Adding sales tax to the amount you "gave to Sony" is inaccurate.

Also, "europeens", if not a spelling error, is pretty offensive.

Because that hard work should have been done while the game was in development.

I'm TIRED of this Standard car argument. Think about it. Getting HD cockpit views, and high detailed car models for over 1000 CARS, many of which are rare. In 5 YEARS. With 150 people. They didn't model cockpits for standards because they want to troll us, or are lazy, or mismanaged their work. It simply wasn't possible. Especially on the Blu-Ray, which although has a lot of space, has it's limit, like all hardware. 1000 HD cars could surely take up the 50 or so GB of space, and there are also tracks etc. to think about. Be glad that they didn't actually try and attempt getting 1000 cars perfectly modeled, or you would have to wait maybe 10 years before it releases.

Now can we FINALLY turn the page?

Don't care.

Doesn't matter.

Irrelevant.

GT5 doesn't even take up the entirety of the single layer disc that it does occupy.

Yep. I sure am glad that PD not only didn't even model Premiums when it would have been outstandingly easy to do so (Skyline variations, Miata variations, etc.); but I am downright pleased that they made absolutely no effort whatsoever to improve the cars that they couldn't upgrade to Premium (or even go through and fix the numerous glitches that they have), and I am also pleased that they intentionally sabotaged them in regards to access to features that they have no reason to not have.

Regardless of whether or not they could have made all the Standard cars Premium before release, they still have a duty to do so after the fact simple because of how the game was marketed.
And, at the very least, they should have attempted to do something (anything) to upgrade them all before slapping them in the game, even if they weren't planning on making all of them Premium.

Now can we FINALLY turn the page?
I don't know. Can we? You are the only one who has a conniption anytime anyone mentions standard cars.

Wow man I'm impressed, your troll spotting abilities are legend...

No trolls here. Just two people arguing the same point that they have been arguing for over half a year now.

OKayyyy...although I agree more with your point, I have seen both your post counts and will now walk away...slowly...with my hands in plain sight...

I think any DLC should be free we bought Prologue, dealt with months of GT5 being delayed only to be released in a sub par form full of glitches and problem's. If they do charge for any DLC I won't by buying it I've had just about enough of PD.

From what I remember, FM3's 10-car packs were 400ms points, which works out to $5 USD. A similar arrangement for PD should be fine.

That said, some smaller, 'themed' car packs wouldn't be a bad idea either. Maybe packs of five for certain types of motorsport, a brand or maybe even a genre could be done. A 'DTM Pack,' a 'BMW Pack' or 'Classic American Muscle Pack' could work.

The only cars worth paying for would be cars that came out after the release of the game (i.e. 2011 or later models). Maybe $3 to $5 for 10-20 cars. Really would have to be "premium" cars.

If they charged to update current in-game standard cars to premium then I'd have to open a can of whoop a$$ on PD.

There are plenty of older cars that have been oft-requested by the community. The feedback forum is proof positive of that. Surely PD would not abandon these classics and icons in favor of only adding new cars.

I would pay anything between 0-15$
Depending of course.
For example, if they finally added a VW Jetta TDI, i would pay mass amounts of cash for it lol

Oh no. There's going to be a Fast and Furious pack isn't there? :ouch:

The first pack will cost 60$ and be called:

Skylines, RX7s, Miatas, and more

...oh wait, thats out already, damn.

I know this sounds crazy but I wouldn't mind paying $5.00 for a Mustang Bullit

I still remember the day I bought this car. I still cant believe the day I wrecked it.

I don't believe in paying for additional content for any game for any platform. We pay for a game, that game is delivered an operated as part as a service. We don't just pay for the game but everything that entails.

Since when do we pay developers to fix a bug in the code?

Question: When you are the boss of 5 guys and have 1 day to do work, do you try to build the collosium?

No?

So maybe the problem wasn't getting 1000 good things, the problem was demanding things be so great you couldn't get even 1/5 of the way done in a reasonable amount of time no?

They didn't model cockpits for standards because they want to troll us, or are lazy, or mismanaged their work.

I dunno... I would hand a lot of this over to missmanagement actually....

Especially on the Blu-Ray, which although has a lot of space, has it's limit, like all hardware. 1000 HD cars could surely take up the 50 or so GB of space, and there are also tracks etc. to think about.

I believe the entire GT5 disc has been dumped by would be pirates and is about 14GB. There was a long way to go there in terms of available space...

I think they did try to do that... and they got cut off mid way... that's why I am not glad... because they made a horrible decision setting goals and manaing resources and this is what we got for it...

The problem so many people have is that they fail to grasp that the quality of the cars was not some comandment of God set in stone or an unquestionable law of nature... when you say "they couldn't because it would take 10 years" you ignore the fact that they COULD if they chose something more reasonable to shoot for... so the couldn't reasoning doens't take the blame off PD for the results, while many try to make it sound like it does, it really just points to the real problem: They chose a goal they couldn't accomplish.

That is called poor management.

Depends what it is....... but TBH the only car I would probably pay for would be a premium 3000GT (my other car rx8 is already in the game)

Unless they add new events there is not much to do but run time trials around random tracks anyway.

The problem is that we were only getting 800 cars which are now the standard cars. Even Kaz admitted the premium cars were created in less than two years when he realized the PS3 could handle the quality of the cars. That is the reason why he keeps saying that GT5 was more fitted for the next console.

The expectation was that they'd release 10,000 cars for GT5. They've released 1,000+. With almost 9,000 to go, I'm not paying $1 per car.

Also, they shipped over 5 million copies. If they sell 5 million copies of the game and get $1 per car, PD would get 5 million dollars for each car (if everybody bought the car).

If PD gets a total of $100,000 per (standard) car, this might be fair, which is 2 pennies per user. So 10 cars = 20 cents. That's 50 cars on the dollar, so for each of us to get all the promised content, we'd each have to spend an additional $180 (not including premium cars).

At that rate, if all 5 million users bought all the content, the gross for PD would be 900 million dollars. So I think 50 cars on the dollar would be more than fair.

I'd pay $2 a car and $2 per custom livery. PD KGO!!!! Honestly right now, today they are working on cars for GT6 new premiums, they could release a handful for GT5 if they chose to but will they?
