How Old are you and how long you been playing GT?

33 years old and I've been playing since GT1. Still can't forget that feeling when I first loaded it up into my PS1. The intro movie completely blew my mind. I have yet to get that feeling with a game again.
 
I'm 22 and I just started playing GT5 a couple weeks ago. My GT experience prior to 5 is limited to the GT1 demo (I still have the Jampack disc!) and bits of 3 and 4. I actually bought 4 brand new at full price based on the graphics and slick box-art alone. I wanted to appreciate it because it looked so impressive, but I couldn't get my head around the driving. I gave up without much of a try. Meh.

More recently I picked up 3 on a whim (for 99 cents!) and became addicted to golding the license tests. This inspired me to buy GT5 XL and turned me into a fan.

GT5 is quickly becoming one of my favorite games of this gen. At first, being the noob that I am, I started blowing through the races with the DLC cars using assists. Once I realized I had demolished half of A-Spec in a day or so, I decided to start over with some self-set rules...

- Must spend first 20000 on a level 0 car
- No assists in any car except during the license tests
- Can use DLC cars only to grind races previously won with "legit" cars
- Cannot put any money into standard cars

The game really opened up after I restarted. I've never really been into racing games. Other than Mario Kart, they never seemed to offer a worthwhile bang to buck ratio. (IMO of course) GT5 has my bucks banging on all cylinders! (I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself.) More than a racer, it plays like an RPG. I understand now why they call it a driving game rather than a racing game.

TL:DR I'm 22, GT5 is my first GT and I LOVE it!

I've watched my cousins play 3 and have played one or two 2 player races but never owned it myself..
 
Can't believe how young some of you were when you first started playing...4, 5 years old!! At that age, I was more interested in my babysitter than anything else, lol.
 
I'm 14, I've been playing since I was about 9 or 10, GT4 was the first game I owned! I can remember thinking that Gt4 was harsh expecting you to buy a used car for 10,000Cr. LOL :D
 
I'm 26 and have been playing GT since I was given a ps1 and the original GT for Christmas by a well off relative and have never looked back, I've never been into collecting cars or golds or anything like that, no issue with anyone who does, I just like to get and drive cars that I like in real life, and cars that I would never get to drive in real life! I worked my way through 1,2 and 3 then took a break as real life took over then i got a ps3 as a free gift about 5 years ago but even then it took me until I got back off tour a couple of years ago to borrow GT5 off a mate and become addicted all over again!

Been playing GT since GT first came out on the Degenertron way back in the day. Fighting the evil of boredom.

 
I'm 20, when I got my PS1 it came with a disc with some demos, including GT1. I loved it, but GT2 was just released so I bought that instead (still the best GT game), and I've played and enjoyed all GTs after that except GTPSP.
 
41 years old and have been with GT since GT1. It was a ground-breaking racing/sim game for the console market. Have owned and played them all since then. Can't imagine what my hours played sum on this series would be. :crazy:
 
48 and completed gt 1 2 3 4 and all the prologues maybe my age but find gt5 a bit slack compared to the other games just dont give me the gt buzz for the first time i might not be at the midnight opening when gt6 is released might just see how my son who is an avid fan gets on with it then see if i need to purchase too.
 
Im 16 and only played gt5 since january 2012. I guess im already an expert, since i had to reset the game data in may and im lvl 32 a-spec and lvl 36 b-spec.. all without playing online. but i have played and mastered other racing series'.... mostly nascar and need for speed.

I'm 30 I played gt1 and 2 but the ps2 era largely passed me by so I only played gt3 and 4 round friends places, I've played gt5 pretty much everyday since release.
 
33 & been playing since GT3, always loved the realism of having to aproach corners logically, vs. taking a 90 degree turn at 260 mph like other games back in the day, hehe, not to mention tuning and understanding of how a car handles.. What I miss the most was having the career mode where you had to change your tires due to tire wear, whats up with the loss of that, bumming..but glad to finally have crash damage, thats what I always dreamed about back in the day..
 
I'm 22, I've been playing Gran Turismo since the original on the Playstation back in 98 and I have fallen in love with the franchise. I've purchased every sequel since (all the way up to 5 including PSP) and I will definitely be purchasing any future releases =)
 
I'm 32 and been at it since GT1. GT2 and GT4 were my two "big ones". Never really got into GT3,can't really think of a reason why.. And here i am today driving the wheels off of cars in GT5. Please tell me i didn't miss anything good in GT3...
