I think you guys are still getting the e brake and e cheat mixed up.

He's referring to using the e brake as a brake. He's holding his e brake down when he's at the line. Nothing more.

Your thinking he's using the cheat.

No He said before: You're slow if you need the e brake. But a few posts later he tells where he puts his e brake and how efficient that is. Nothing to do about the e-cheat ;)

How many cars you line up against and see brake lights on right before launching? Hardly ever, most are launching by releasing e-brake. Been that way for as long as I can remember.

i don't under stand how launching with the e-brake is any different then using the brake.

Slashfan explained it a page back. Apparently it releases instantly and the normal brake doesnt. Could be true, could be bro-science. Either way, its been deemed faster by the community, and I dont consider it cheating

Ghost launching on the other hand, is something you should not do.

No. Wait.. Using the e brake or brake is purely up to preference. But tapping e brake once moving.. Then that's where 'e-cheat' comes into play. What D2 was saying, is that when he's waiting for ghost, he will slightly hold down L2 (e brake, nothing wrong) then once he sees tree, he lets go of L2 (again, nothing wrong). D2 was merely saying, if you need to tap e brake after you launch to win, then you are slow.

A quick test proves the e-brake disengages faster. Hold the normal brake, watch the lights. Even after you let off, the lights are still on for a bit meaning the brake is still partially engaged, thus a slower launch. Since the ebrake disengages immediately you get off line faster.

The echeat is the use of the ebrake AFTER you start moving. Holding the ebrake at the line is fine like the normal brake.

Thank you for clearing that up jimmy. Everybod since the begging of drag in GT5 uses the e brake to launch. But nobody ever tap it after the launch to get a better tree

I can testify that using the e-brake instead of the actual brakes is son much effective, just recently I rearrange my controller and immediately was seeing results I used to get treed a lot but now I'm more accurate.

No.. E cheat is a completely different thing. :)
Yeah, releasing off the e-brake seems to work better, but dont confuse it with the e-cheat that people are talking about, thats something entirely different.
Funny

I've seen some....

Another way to get a really fast launch is to use an old box tv that has tubes, they have more hz around 240hz meaning the frame rate is faster therefore meaning you see the ghost quicker. It does work because I've tried it at a friends house and Being Australian i was getting even tree's with Americans on an American ghost.

i dont understand how you can hit e-brake after the launch and make you faster

Well it is apparently. Haven't tested it myself. I do know if you use the e brake before the launch is faster than the normal brake. You get a quicker reactiontime

It's the input lag which hurts, not really the framerate.

I use my Samsung 32'' for gaming, absolutely no delay. But if I connect my PS3 to a LG 47'', unplayable (delay is over 1 tenth).

But yes, crts have usually very low lag rates.

Using normal brake by adjusting L2 as your brake and balancing it so you can only see is a little red bar next to a full bar for accelerating is just as quick, other than that its your tv and connection are the other factors of launching online.

Yup, if I go with my tube tvs i get faster reaction than my flatscreens especially my 55"

So having a huge 55inch tv does slow you down a bit huh? Sucks because Im now using a 55 and I have found myself losing to certain people who ive beat many times. It drives be nuts

some tv's have game mode, if yours does, use it

also wire is better then wireless, i think for both internet and controller

Bigger TVs have often more input lag, but it really depends on the quality of your TV.

Google a bit and you'll find datasheets which include input lag values. Btw, my Samsung UE32C5100 works great, but the 47'' LG really sucks (forgot the model name). Not sure how the 37'' Samsung UE37sth (can't directly remember) works, but I expect it works as well as the smaller one.

This should be sticky'd under the new title of "How the Noobs launch so fast"

I like how PD believe that braking actually makes you faster.

GT5s getting full of phony's and for me PD are a total disgrace.
