How to take it to the next level in GT7?

I have a list of tracks where I want to do GOLD:
1. Monza (done)
2. Spa (done)
3. Interlagos
4. Red Bull Ring
5. Barcelona
6. Suzuka
7. Le Mans
8. Nurburgring

Which one do you think I should focus on next? Ideally capitalizing on the skills I got doing Monza and Spa.

I'd say now your challenge is to gold it with the regular controller, this way you'lle remove the idea that you needed the Edge 😁

So I tried again:-)

With Edge or regular controller ?

With Edge. Difference is very subtle, but I am able to do things easier. I will try with a regular. But with Edge I am going to try MT.

If you want to take it to the next level, start racing on Sport Mode. Its too easy to form bad habits against poor AI, which is what GT has.

But doing Circuit Experience you do not have any AI. I would rather prefer to master several tracks and then go to Sport, else I will drive like crazy AI

Sooner or later, you are going to have to learn racecraft against real people anyway.

Everyone's made an idiot out of themselves online, it is not a big deal if you make mistakes while you learn

Also what is your definition of "mastering"?

I wonder if the ability to control the sensitivity, you would have done better if you turned off the resistant triggers on the non-edge controller. I always found it hard to judge how much brake or throttle I am inputting because the resistance prevented me from smoothly rolling onto the throttle and being gentle with my inputs.

I tried it. My bro told me the same. He finds it easier without the resistance. For me, it is the other way around

You are very smooth with steering on the controller, and i see you are not using assists. You are on the right path mate. You are good to go online and start learning racecraft now.

Learning to simrace is not a matter of months, but years.

If you visit the thread with the statistics for the time trials so well handled by half_sourly you will see that around 40% of top players are using controller:

Enjoy your journey, we are all learning.

Thank you very much! I am enjoying the journey! I am here to stay:-)

Hey everyone. I decided to do Interlagos next. Who of you did GOLD here? I am trying to figure our this part of S3. Cannot find any mark for a breaking point. Any suggestion?

I think I will struggle in Interlagos. I do not feel or understand the track:-( I like the F1 race, but now that I tried it myself, I cannot feel the track, unlike Monza or Spa.

My first attempt was 3.5 sec off, second much closer, but that was just intuition. I am struggling with breaking points and the flow.

As always, will work on it:-))

Now I need to understand the track and find 1.5 sec:-)

Found a bit time. Need to shave 1 sec.

Ok, need to find a bit less now. 0.5 sec.

Well, this hurts:

I DID IT!!! Happy:-) Best regards from the home of Senna:-)

Did that one a few weeks ago, not the hardest IMHO. Well done, you seem to have tame that beast quite quickly !
This was not hard. Monza was harder and it is 500K. Spa MUCH-MUCH harder! The thing is, I was driving intuitively. Not sure where the breaking points are. I am not even sure I know and understand the track. Spa I know by heart. So far Spa is my fav! Well done as well to you:-)

I am thinking about either Red Bull or Barcelona as my next CE.

Tried Suzuka, Le Mans and Barcelona today to see which one I should do next. Honestly all very HARD! Like Spa. Suzuka is insane, especially S1 and S2. Problem is, I do not like it that much….not sure I will be able to be as dedicated as I was with Spa. Spa is phenomenal…another world!

Really not sure which one to do next. Probably irrelevant as I will try to do all 3…eventually….one day.

You are just posting about CE at different tracks and you have done great. However, to me that is not taking the game to the next level. Have you been doing the weekly challenge events, time trials and more online races? The CE will always be there to do.

Weekly time trials are a circuit experience every week! My favorite part of the game by far.

Step by step. I have my own learning curve which suits my personality, experience, time I can dedicate. I wish I could spend more time with GT7, but there are so many things every day that require my attention. Like for most of us.

My approach is to learn driving, get to know track and cars and build more confidence. I would love to master several tracks and then go on-line. But it will be my next step for sure. 2-3 more CEs and then I will get into online TT and racing.

I am content with what and how I am learning. I think I would truly want to get GOLD in Suzuka, Le Mans and Barcelona. Ideally learn MT and then I will be a lot more confident going online. Otherwise I will be multiplying mistakes.

Can I just say, I love this thread.

Someone who comes in, wanting to learn and improve rather than decide it's all too difficult and unfair.

The results are speaking for themselves.
Thank you. I wanted to learn GT7. I am glad I found this place because I was able to see what is possible, how you guys do it and also benefit from collective experience. Noone had to react and spend YOUR OWN time helping me so specifically, but you did and this pushed me forward. Like the fact that I saw how to do Spa on a controller. First, I could not believe it is possible to drive so smoothly on a controller, but it was beautiful and inspiring. I truly wanted to learn and get there myself!

If you think about it, this game gets us very close to amazing cars and real tracks. It is hard, but it is also pushes you and allows to learn new skills. This will also translate to other areas of life too.

Guys, I know one of you suggested to learn MT and suggested a track and car to do it. Cannot find where it was.

If I want to master MT on a controller…what is the best way to do it? How did you learn?

I don't think you need a certain car or a certain track. You said that Spa is your favorite track. So just grab a car you like and drive around Spa. Learning by doing. I guess you will adapt to MT pretty quick, it really isn't that hard IMO.

Slower car, slower track. I like mid engine cars for learning things like this because they are really well balanced. Put some sticky (er) tires on so you aren't worried as much about grip and just play. Run laps until you feel sort of consistent and then try something in game a little harder. That's my suggestion.

Folks, of this tracks, which was the most hard for you?

1. Spa
2. Barcelona
3. Suzuka

I am trying to master Suzuka. But Sector 1…what is this?! Just pure insanity! I am thinking…driving there…is it more science or art? So fast and flowing. So many changes of directions.

I am pretty sure I will come asking for help:-)))))

I find Spa and Catalunya very hard, just buy the nature of the corner configuration of them is very similar.

Suzuka I find very easy, although hitting a good spoon is always a 70/30 game for me.

With sector 1 at Suzuka you have to think like a metronome in that the speed through there is mostly coasted and lightly braked. I'll see if I have a replay, but the main key is after t1/2 you should just be gently flowing until the exit to the left which if you get it right is full throttle all the way out to degna 1 which is a corner if you get the curb right will set you perfectly for degna 2 (drop a gear)

For the first turn at Suzuka, each car is slightly different but they all follow a similar approach, medium brake to make the first right, steady/straighten and then brake harder but if you can release the brake as early as poss to get a straighter turn in for T2

Of the 3 I found lemans the most difficult but part of that is lack of track knowledge and no interest in GR1 cars in the game.

If I find a sector one vid ill edit it in
