How you would honestly feel if PD included Karting in GT5?

Hmmm... judging by the extreme end of the cars found in GTs of old, which had a habit of bunny-hopping down the track due to them operating at the very fringe of the physics engine's capabilities, I can understand the fear that the karts could be a bit dodgy.

That said, in the news, it was mentioned that it was great fun. Maybe that's all that matters?

Logic is an amazing thing. :sly:👍

Yeah but if you ACTUALLY apply logic to the arguement you will notice that the GT series has been doing physics for cars for DECADES, and we all know that they have the best physics of any game for cars. We do not, however, have any knowledge of the karts physics, and in alot of peoples opinions, we expect it to be arcadey. Hopfully we get proven wrong.

Other than that it most certainly runs on the same physics engine as the rest of the game? ;)

My brother thought the karts looked cool and said he couldnt wait to race them. Hes never been a GT fan. Looks like the karts will make GT more accessible to the mainstream who find full sized cars even slow ones too daunting in a sim

karting is gonna be awesome! i hope :P being racing karts for 8 years i learned how far you can push this things to the limit, and i really hope pd managed to recreate that feeling.

keep up the good work pd you will make racing history

Ok, that's fair. But if I remember correctly...

PD takes the car's specs/parameters and plugs it into their physics engine. The kart that has been shown is a PD created kart. So, I cannot guarantee, but think it is safe to assume that physics will not be a problem.

A more likely problem will be a lack of Karting content. Considering it was not going to make it in until it was leaked. So, we may only see 5 or so kart specific tracks at launch.

Karts are so light that you use your body as moveable ballast to assist with cornering grip and such stuff. So until PD release a GT cushion with sensors built in it will be hard to replicate what karting actually feels like in real life. But I will play it nonetheless:tup:

Isn't Cote de Azur a kart track too?

There's an annual kart race at Monaco (Monaco Kart Cup) but it's held on a small specially built track around the Swimming Poll / Rascesse / F1 pit lane part of the F1 track.

yea thats a good point, u really drive a kart whit you entire body

You know, this may seem like a minor thing and it doesn't just apply exclusively to karts, but what I'd really like to be able to do is choose my own racing number. You know, for that personal touch.

The term is body english. Of course nothing can quite replicate that at the moment regardless of how refined the physics is. But instead of having bikes (ie.Tourist Trophy) which has been suggested before but to me doesn't quite make sense for a car simulation/racing game (not to mention how much more difficult it is to replicate riding a bike), Karting on the other is much more similar to driving/racing cars including and perhaps the most important, the use of a steering wheel.

I don't see why not - after all, you could choose your number in Tourist Trophy as well.
