Hope he lived on the west side, and that he is ok. Where did he live anyway. (town name?)
Should not of stayed, anything over 100mph is very dangerous. :nervous:

God be with you, Kent, you're one of the most decent fellows God put on this board... :(

Thoughts and prayers are with you Kent ...its a terrible thing what you and yours are going through, wish there was more that we could do than just donate money...

To the best of my knowledge Kent lives in Slidell, across the lake to the north of New Orleans. Coverage I've seen looks like they avoided the flooding but got much more Wind Damage.:irked: I chatted with him on "IM" the nite before & am most anxious to see his "Moniker" pop-up on my IM Buddy List. :indiff: Please keep Good Thoughts for our good friend Kent! ...O.G. :D

There's new news, Bob. :(
CNN quotes:
"The entire downtown area of Slidell, across Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans in St. Tammany Parish, was under 15 feet of water, emergency management officials said."
"Across Lake Pontchartrain, in Slidell, Louisiana, Mayor Ben Morris was among thousands of homeless residents who have been unable to communicate with anyone outside Slidell.

Morris estimated 90 percent of the city's residences were destroyed or damaged and that half of its 30,000 residents will be left homeless."

Wish him and everyone there all the best and hope they get through it.

Seems abit silly staying there though, but of course I don't know all the circumstances. All those looters are complete scum and make me sick.

Gosh the devastation is truely horrible and I hope Kent, his family and the rest of the people still stuck in the city are ok.........

Good luck man........

The thought never entered my head that this stuff im watching on tv would affect someone i know.

I hope he's back online as soon as possible so that we all know he's ok, and i also pray for the rest of the people involved in this disaster.

I think if id been given the choice, i would have stayed at home and played GT on my wheel and ignored the winds, but we dont get anything like the weather theyve experienced over here in the UK.

Get your grumpy as back on GTP Kent.

And Jordan, i think you should put the "welcome back Kent" thread in just as prominent a position when he returns.

👍

My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family, and without a doubt with the families of all those involved.

I have nobody to pray either, but I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope this will end OK for you Kent.
It'll be good to hear from you.

Damn, I've never been worrying so much before I joined GTP a year and a half ago.
Last July for the guys/gals from London, now for Kent (and perhaps some others who are not super moderators and live in the same area)...
What'll be next ?

Hello everyone. I'm not very close with kent but the evening before it hit I spoke with him on aim. I remember he said he lived in St. Tammany. On mapquest this looks to be about 10 miles north northwest of Slidell, what I didn't realize is it's a parish which is like a county if I understand correctly, and Slidell is in this county. Which means he does live in Slidell, an area hit very hard. I really hope he is okay.

I agree with you 100%, we were watching CNN at work last nite and we saw people stealing TV's, this is uncalled for. I can see if it is food, water, or something they need, but a TV? Sorry to get off of the subject.......

The shots on TV are just unbeleivable, and horrible. The guy saying its just a stench of bodies and they arent even counting they just putting a cross on the houses that the dead are in :(

Kent, my thoughts are with you and your family in hope your ok.

Man im in the Uk but the coverage has been mega where i live, natual disasters seem so damn harsh. But for the Missisippi (is that the one?) banks to over flood is just devastating, maybe its global warming, maybe its just natual/

Either way my thoughts go out to everyone who has been affected in some way due to the hurricane and especially Kent, hope ya get through it well dude.

Kent, I pray for you, your family, and all else who have been affected by Hurricane Katrina. I'm not very religious but may God be with you and give you strength.

Kent you and your family and friends down there are in my prayers and thoughts.

Most - not all. If I was in dire need of food and a store has food, I would have no qualms about feeding me and my family.

Well stealing essentials is ok I guess under the circumstances (aslong as it wasn't from other needy people of course) but as Lenjia said, TVs etc... are not essentials which is what I was referring too.
