Hybrid in GT4 ^_^, save game & code in the 1st post

Ok,again,most of the cars don't work because they have the corrupted thing.The cars that work are the nardo,the focus,the carriage,and the alfa.I'm gonna try the nardo,wich looks cool and weird with the floating wing lol

EDIT1:The Nardo is cool,with the wing and all lol,works fine,and easy to control.
The focus works too and looks awsomely weird,because of its enourmous size lol.Easy to control and pretty quick.
As i thought,the carriage crashed the game.there must be an incompatibility.Suca,next time,try to change only the engine and power,leave the tyres.Maybe the problem is that the carriages have special kind of body.

I have to go now,later on i'll post the pics and try the car that is left,the btcc.

I'm on the Alfa. Same thing about the corruption. It's odd...

Update: Alfa works alright. Seems a lot like the regular car...

Update 2: The Motor Carriage freezes.

Focus looks cool, but absolutely undriveable. Bad grip, and about 3 times the understeer than the original had. EDIT: It's actually ok on S-tyres.

I wonder why does the other cars are corrupted.It must be something related to the extraction of the save file,because the other save file with 981 normal cars,only the first ones were good.

That's my guess as well - the extracter, or something in the converting-proccess, causes corruption even among cars that were good on other saves (that Suzuki Escudo/GSX-R/4, and the Miata).

And the VW Nardo: Couldn't go any lower. Seems like 0mm of height.It actually bottoms out, with sparks, on the straight. Horrorible handling, because of the height, but with normal settings, it's like the regular Nardo. The spoiler is floating above, with no visible connection, but it does add extra 30 downforce to the car. So, you can some Racecar-spec amounts of downforce. 50/60 is more than JGTC cars get... So, with 1200KG, 600HP (900tuned), and 50/60 DF, it should smoke some racecars...
Just imagine a Toyota Minolta with F1-ish amounts of DF...
 
 
Thanks for report Playguy and Gingiba. It is interesting info about the wing and handling. It seems car with different engine not survive.

I will try to learn again how to extract .ps2 file, since it seems converting (either from or to pcsx2) can make some car corrupted. I already read your link PlayGuy, thanks. I was using other method reading .ps2 file, using delete 16 byte application.

Perhaps there is something else about this engine-swapping that we haven't found out yet.

And the downforce is just superbly usable. It may not be that nice in photos (apart from the 'hilarity-factor'), but that extra downforce is worth killing for.

If i can tonight i'll post a video of it.

Anyway,i i was checking your thread about the corruption data,and it gave me an idea.Suca,try to turn off auto save,and work with that off.Save then only occurs when you change from car to car.

And open driver,i had that problem a couple of times,and i could fix it somehow.What i did was buy a new car(any one)and then sell it.If you're lucky you will be able to select a new car.Repeat the process everytime you want to drive a new car.
If you're lucky,the save will fix itself(it happened with me).
I tried that with your save suca,but no luck.

EDIT:Wait,that's not for the corrupted data thing.It's for the can't change cars problem.sorry.
 
I see, it seems changing engine crash the game, and changing car body make it corrupted. I wonder if the second method work better. So can someone try this?

EDIT:Nothing happened.I dunno what that code does,but i checked the cars in the garage,and no wing,i bought a new one,no wing,and i raced with it,and no wing nor wing setting.Could you tell me what that code is for?

The first one is a pic that i took from your last save,with no changes.The second one has the code actived.Notice the car space occupied by something.Ghosts?lol.Anyway,i'm thinking that is the space that receives the wing.Could it be?I will try to buy cars so a car that i can drive gets on that spot.

So you think it's with how you tranfer the save's?
I am have that problem, I can't get the save I have
to Pcsx2. I need the boot.elf file, which I don't have.
 
Thanks :). It seems what changed in the emulator do not show up properly in console, maybe there is some variable left that I should update too.

But it is still a good news since it means other thing may work :).

BTW, about Ford Focus RS, do you hear Civic engin sound when you drive it?

That file should be easy to find AngelCreator, it has other name as launchelf or something.

I think I will try to use second memory card to extract the PCSX2 gamesave now. Since after reading Playguy's link I just know that the file is save in FAT structure. Which could be fragmented.


Edit: Just realize that the previous code is incomplete. Because we shouldn't be able to fit something we never bought :dopey:. I try to find code for "proof" that we purchased wing.

Can you change the name of a car to a different car? May be Skyline or something? If you can do that, Then you can buy all of the new name car upgrades, If the car drives correct, Then save it! Then change the name back, That's always been one short cut i've taken in all the GT series so far, Just a thought!
 
So far I never touch the upgrade area yet, but I will try that, thanks :).

I intend try to mix upgrade. I want to test car with Skyline muffler, GT-One Stage 4 turbo, Subaru 22B NOS, Subaru 360 stage 3 weight reduction, etc.

it seems the upgrade code decide on how much the power multiplies. I don't know if it will change car noises though. So please check how the engine noise change too. I hope no car is corrupt this time.

CR-X SiR '90 with R32 Gts-t type m muffler - Works - Runs clean,the muffler is on,but doesn't appear on the settings menu.I went to the mod shop and the racing muffler would give 10 HP less than the car had in total lol.The muffler is definitly on.Sound was the same i think.

Honda Beat with NSX engine and NSX stage 1 NA - works - This is an NSX engine.No questions about that.Even the screen that appears to start the race,wich has teh specs of car,tell you that.276HP.Sound and all.Ultra fun car.Small,cabrio,and wicked cool to drive.It just need some nice transmission and tyres.345HP with the oil change show that the car has the NA tune.And i just found that the mods that you apply refer to the engine you have,not the car.So,with the lexus,you could have a V12 with a turbo...

BTW,suca,for the next save could you please add more credits?For testing with the mods and such.

Suca,can you replace cars?I mean,if you have a certain car in the garage,can you change it to any other car?


And i've been thinking about the list you made some time ago,that had like 900 cars that repeated themselves sometimes.I've been thinking of that ain't multiple versions of the same car.I think i remember having a CRX with a sun roof,and the one that you have on your save file hasn't one.
What do you think?Maybe there's something hiding in there,like the diablo and other secret cars...

BTW,weren't some cars deleted from the game?I think i remember reading about that when the game came out.

EDIT:embarrassed:h,another thing.Special cars like the auto union and the chrysler prowler,do you think you can make them unspecial so we can race them with other cars?

I see your oddity picture, it seems the wing code create more problem when activated, maybe I should add check code. I am confuse for a moment when you say your post is updated with picture link but I don't see it. After a while I notice that your picture link would not showed up when I am logged in, I have it now. Weird problem, maybe vbulletin (this forum software) store every post update and forget to refresh it for my login...............

It really nice that some of the car works :cheers: :). It seems the sound hooked to the car engine not to any upgrade. The car that works has engine and engine upgrade pair, although there is some compatibility problem.

I don't know how to add credit in GT4 yet, but I will try to fully equip the car. If I can't find where the fully equip code yet, I will buy at least tranny, tire and full suspension upgrade manualy first.

I can replace car, but currently, I can't replace car completely. The example of replaced car is Suzuki GSXR4, which replaced Suzuki Escudo. Notice that all hybrid that I do use car that can be bought.

About hidden car, I don't know. some car may use the same car body code. there is 730 different car and 730 body code. Is 730 is the number of car available?

About making special car ordinary, I think it can be done. I just don't know what it's limitation yet. What is the limitation of that car?


Angel Creator, I failed too, I don't know if we can't load max file from cd. I try to copy max file to PCSX2 memory card, but failed to make it opened in armax. I try to create crushed save in PCSX2, but failed too.


Since I am curious about hacking similarity between GT2 and GT4, I try some of my GT4 hybrid knowledge into GT2, and the result is interesting, I can finally equip both turbo and NA upgrade on Civic on garage. And it seems NA and turbo in GT2 do not change car sounds, but muffler do.



Edit: Nice video PlayGuy, I like how the Beat drift :). The GS300 video shows tachometer too, but the video is too small, can you make a picture of it? and maybe for other car too from chase view camera.
 
Suca, what have you managed to do?

Can you increase what the tachometer reads to (thus enable the Spoon S2000 RC, JGTC Skylines and some JGTC NSX's to rev to their actual max), the name of the car, the amount of grip (so you could have a car with 5000hp and ultra-sticky tyres for 4 second quarters) and change the car colour to non-factory colours (pink Evo, anyone?)?

Just for kicks, could you give a Buick Special and Chevy SST Concept 5mm ride height? That would be what you call low rider :drool:
 
Let see:
- Increasing tachometer limit = no, this need in race armax code research
- Increasing amount of grip = yes, using tire from race car
- Change to non-Factory colours = no, since car color already hard coded to number (0=blue, 1 = red, etc).
- Changing height = yes. But will revert to normal if you change or equip suspension, the example of this would be 0 mm nardo with polo tire, which shows in the image PlayGuy posted.
