Ok. Trying a 7th gear. Hope it works :/

EDIT: Tried throwing a Minolta tranny in it. No luck. Added a 7th gear ration. No luck. I'm not even sure what car does have a 7th gear :/

EDIT 2: Got one :P. Nikke Car lol

EDIT 3: (lol)

Code:
7 Gear Tranny
10A18898 00000F36

Adjust the auto setting before you drive. Looked like one of the gears glitched off the chart.

I think its like in gt3 hybridding, a 5-speed car (787b) then throw a 6-speed in, now you have a funky 6th gear unless you go in and manually tweak it first (or edit the gearing in the savegame beforehand).

So far so good; 92 Evo actually (not a evo3, didn't pay attention when I bought it), 1500hp 787b 4-rotor, GTR LM Concept 7-speed tranny (adjustable), Suspension off a Z12-S Zonda. Rides nice n low, managable, and can catch air like nobody knows lol. I snapped some pics, I'll put em up in a bit.

Now, if theres only a way to have multiple hybrids w/o goofing the other cars in the garage. hmm...

EDIT:!!!

I have 2 functional cars by using the pcsx2/phaste method?!?!?

I edited the skyline first, then (still in pcsx2) went and selected the evo (previously unselectable in the console), did the engine, tranny + suspension with phaste, and saved then exported to my ps2 savegame via codebreaker (different save format) using ps2savebuilder. I just clicked on the skyline in my ps2, and it loaded up. I clicked on the prius, and no-go... hmm, maybe if I access each car and then save in pcsx2 I should be able to access them in my real ps2!

Frickin sick....

I just got my FTP setup. Now the gamesave transfer will be a lot faster since I'm using 1 PS2 for memory transfer and 1 for testing.

EDIT: ..... Turns out the Nikke has 8 gears.... :)

Lookin sweet!

Code:
8 Gear Tranny
10A18898 00000F36

I'm probably gonna throw a muscley supercharged V8 in a few of these ricers.

well, I found a fun cr-x... crx w/ a more modern k20a from an accord euro-R, a honda beat worth taking for a spin (nsx-r v6), evo w/ a 4-rotor, and a r32 skyline w/ the heart of a mine's r34 >=D My garage is comming along just fine, gonna break some of these test dummies out on my friend tomorrow lol

Cool cool. I'v got an NSX I'm working on. Hoping it turns out good.

kinda sucks that we can only do 2 hybrids this way per memory card, if theres a way to get NTSC Armax/Codebreaker codes (if codebreaker would even work), then we can probably just make hybrids like:

1-save the game with the car you want to be hybrid'd
2-load the hybrid codes into your cheat device
3-start gt4 with the codes active, and save the game
4-restart gt4 with no codes active, and make sure the codes you put in work
5-select the next car you want hybrided and restart @ step 1

that method should work if we had armax codes, or there is some work around for extracting our gt4 game data + garage from pcsx2, because in the emulator, all my cars work, once extracted... they dont
the garage data seems like its a few kb larger than it should be, I remember the original off my memory card being 1.12MB now the garage data is 1.22MB in size, maybe something's off there???

I've gotten 3 out of 4 of my hybrid cars to load at one time. Not sure how :/

It's not so hard :).
I am not sure if 2GB memory stick can be used to transfer save........

oh yeah, sucahyo, some memory sticks can be finicky, my old 256MB wont do it but my 4GB one works fine pc->ps2 (codebreaker/armax)
...yeah, I know I quoted an old post, figure I'd throw that in for good info...

tekno, I wish I had 3 of my 4 working, I'm trying to get the skyline to NOT work but it still keeps going... my other 2 hybrids won't transfer over (Honda Beat/NSX-R, Honda CRX/K20a), I got my Lil Evo to work, by putting it in 1st position, skyline 3rd, and the other 2 2nd adn 4th (thinking 3rd was the unlucky spot). All 4 cars work (can get into all menus) in pcsx2, but can't pull all of em outta pcsx2

I'll give a shot tomorrow probably. Getting tired. See if I can figure out how I did it.

Gonna test this NSX out. 8 speed tranny, Saleen S7, NA tune stage 3 @ 900+HP, 75MM ride height, and fully modded tranny parts. I hope it handles....

sounds like fun, I'mma get some rest myself... I wonder if sucahyo figured a way to make those "corrupted" cars uncorrupted (I was readin back some posts). My current savegame was completely 100% in pcsx2, maybe I should start another one (patch the game so I get millions), and buy a car get in it apply code quick, then proceed to the next (w/o actually enetering the "setup" screen). I dunno, I'm tired, acomplished a few ntsc hybrids 2day, I'm happy lol.

If you're wondering and need to know how to modify which parts are marked as bought then check this list out, it's not the easiest to understand but I'm no teacher :P

Looks like you all are learning really quickly :)

The method I'm using to get multiple hybrids that work on a PS2 is to transfer the saved memory card back and forth between PS2 and the emulator and only change cars with the PS2.
It's really slow and complicated but the only sure-fire method to get them working. The drawback is of course that most of the saved cars won't work in pcsx2.

Sometimes there are one or two other cars as well which work on both PS2 and the emulator (as you have noticed) but nobody knows why it happens and how to get all of them work like they should

Ah. Cool. Yes. Pretty confusing :)

I'm "considering" machin' a simple application up for this. Kinda like GT3gEdit just with PHAST codes.

That's just what I've been dreaming about, I just have next to no knowledge in any programming language
The becoming "GT4CarEdit" would need it's part list and other name data in a separate text file because we don't know all of them yet. It would be so much easier to update when you find new data.
Maybe even the descriptions for each value could be made editable?

I think it would be even possible to make it detect where the garage offset is regardless of which version of the game you're using 👍

That's exactly what I'm aiming for.

Here's a machup of what my idea is. I have the basic knowledge of this, + every resource I can think of. So we'll get this.

lol, I don't care how long it takes, never thought of that tho.
-So, I would use my ps2, select the car I want hybrided' save the game
-transfer it over to my PC,
-"insert" the ps2 savegame into the pcsx2 memcard
-start pcsx2 up, don't change cars and apply the hybrid codes to the selected car
-save in pcsx2, export save to usb drive
-put "new" save in ps2

I was just about to try and "make" codebreaker codes so I can basically do the same thing... enter codebreaker code, load savegame with hybrid victim, save, restart ps2, pick new car, save, enter new codebreaker code... repeat  I think the ps2 switching car method sounds like a charm!!! I'mma try that now actually...

Oh yeah, this might be useful for going into those .ps2 pcsx2 memcards
MyMc tool for importing/exporting savegames from .ps2 (exports to .psu + .max format). Its a command-line utility, so its not for the faint of heart lol.

Maybe it has to do with some kinda chekcsum that gets calc'd wrong somewhere? I noticed 2 spots for checksums in your .xls?

good stuff, lol, while you guys work on that... I'mma keep trying to get a completely functional garage in my ps2 (the hard way)

Yes, exactly like that :)
I learned how to use MyMC effectively and now I'm able to export/import saves from/to the pcsx2 memory card images with just a couple mouse clicks. I'll share what I know if you want to
Too bad the program's able to import only .max or .psu files, so you need to have sucahyo's GT4 save extractor if you don't have Maxdrive or similar at hand.

About those checksums, I don't think they are the key to fix the corrupting bug because even non-hybrid cars get usually corrupted if you save them with the pcsx2.
There could be something else within the emulator that doesn't work right and thus corrupts the saves, for example if the master encryption key has something to do with the "hardware" you're running the game on

Edit:
I think I've missed something but have you already made codebreaker codes that work on the real PS2? wonderful!
Are you using the same memory locations as the pcsx2, those 00A18850 ones?

well, I was going to try and mess with it... I have that cb crypt program and a codebreaker 9, In pcsx2 the phaste code was "10a18888 sumthing" for engine, so I converted that but haven't tried it yet. I would defintely like to know how you get mymc to work w/ a few mouse clicks, I'm working on some batch files, but can't get it to delete the old data on the .ps2 file (or atleast overwrite it).

So far, I created a new save in pcsx2 (yeah I know, couldn't gey ps2 save onto pcsx2 yet), purchased all the cars I want to hybrid, but I did not enter any of them in pcsx2 (so in a sense, they do not have any riding history, because I never entered them). I'm going to slap it on my ps2 now, and select the first potential victim, transfer back to pcsx2, and then repeat.

Update on the program.

Just figured out how to get the program to read from text files, now I just have to get it to line them up in the drop down boxes.

Should have an alpha soon :)

EDIT, AH! This is killing me! lol

Code:
TextBox1.Text = My.Computer.FileSystem.ReadAllText("test.txt")

That's good..... But I can't get it to apply to my drop down boxes.

EDIT 2: OMG shoot me....
Code:
Dim lines() As String = System.IO.File.ReadAllLines("test.txt")
        ComboBox2.Items.AddRange(lines)
Got it....

This is pretty off topic but anyway, I kinda miss it how you could do some really sick hybrids in GT2

Nice... Is there a torque multiplier in GT4?
to my knowledge, no there isn't.
I believe the power/torque curve is hardcoded into each single engine, but who knows for sure..

Edit:
I'm working now on a simple registry patch file that associates .ps2 files with mymc and allows you to import .max saves and normal files into them, as well as exporting saves

Ok, here it is.

NTSC 2 is all the parts files are set up for.

All the parts are read from the .txt files. So it can be used on any version if the addresses are modified.

Lemme know what I should add next.

So we can use gs/armax/cb to get the cars we want, then transfer the save back to use in PCSX2? That would be godlike!

Is there already a way to do that? lol

EDIT: I posted program update 1 post up^

Oh well am I stupid or what, I can't obviously make the batch file that easy because I don't know where your MyMC executable is located
Maybe I'll try to write up a tutorial how to do it on your own

teknogeek, I can't get your program to run, it just says
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application"
I'm using 32-bit XP pro
