I AM DONE WITH THIS PIECE OF TRASH AND ITS GOD-AWFUL DRIVERS

I understand the frustration. In the last manufacture series I was hit twice in qualifying. So I could not make a clean lap. But in the race I was hit again. In real-life the race was over. Luckely I could drive on.

What do you think? Was it to much risk to overtake there?

three wide is always risky because of the pinball physics and the middle player. not much you can really do except back off and hope the side by side action of the two in front results in someone getting punted in the right hander at the end of the straight. I know for a fact that two wide through that corner is a bad idea let alone three, so something was going to have to give there anyways, but you had the upper hand being on the inside.

it looks like the guy on the far lefts fault for trying to block the overtake of the middle guy and ended up knocking them into you

Don't you dare try to remove this post. It is my right to freedom of speech and you should respect it.

Yet another classic example of someone that doesn't understand how "freedom of speech" works. ;)

Assuming the author of the OP is an adult, and not 12 years old.....lighten up, man. Don't let a video game twist you into knots.

Definitely too much risk there. Not a good move. I see this a LOT in Gran Turismo Sport. Just because you can fit your car somewhere doesn't mean you should. It's an 11 lap race. Why are you trying that move on lap 1? Just be patient. If you are faster, you will have many chances to pass as the race moves forward.

Because my qualifying was ruined I wanted to pass the "slower'' drivers as quick as possible, to make the gap with the topdrivers not too big. It is only 11 laps on a small circuit: so there is a gap I took it. Do you want to tell me the crash was my fault?

Yes and no. You did not start the contact, but it is fair to say you contributed to the situation. Trying to go three-wide there is a recipe for disaster. That doesn't leave any room for those other two cars. Bathurst is pretty narrow.

I raced there yesterday too, and was punted off on the last turn by an idiot dive bomber. I was running 2nd at the time, and I was faster than this guy. But, as often happens in GT Sport, he tried to jam his Viper on the inside because he thought having the inside line is all that matters. I can only guess? Who knows what these guys think? We've all been there. It can be frustrating. I was mad as hell and I will admit I took it out on the guy later in the race, which was wrong of me to do. I need to be better at controlling my temper.

Bathurst is a "small circuit"? Not sure I would agree with that one. In any event, it was an11-lap race with a pit stop. A 25-min race. I raced the C race there yesterday too (my favorite race). I can understand being impatient. I've tried moves like that too only to kick myself...."Why didn't I just wait for them to crash out or make a mistake?". Not saying I am any better. ;) It's easy to see after the race watching replays....not as easy to see in the heat of the moment. :)

Yeah I guess backreading 7 pages is a bit much; even I wouldn't read that much

Anyway, he did say sorry after this and clarified that he was just writing from the top of his head in frustration. I think being irrational when frustrated is just natural, it happens to all of us. Not gonna lie, maybe posting that here on the forums is a bit far, but again, it happens to all of us :)

Thank you for pointing that out. My fault for not reading more of the thread. After thinking more about it, I can certainly relate to that level of frustration. I'm not proud of it, but I've lost my temper out on track a time or two. I was pretty damn hot on Sunday after getting punted off on the last turn at Bathurst. :banghead:

Cheers.

It wasnt the issue here but with the racing view you use you have no rearview mirror, it's possible the other 2 drivers race in the same view. I believe if everyone raced with radar on there could possibly be less contact. Even in bumper cam with a dedicated rear view mirror I often have my radar on, if I need to change my fuel map I take care of it and go right back to radar. I get crashed by others often enough, I certainly dont want to be the cause of even more accidents

Yeah sorry, I didn't mean 'small'. I meant narrow. Like you said. "Bathurst is pretty narrow". In dutch "smal circuit" means narrow circuit.

And yes, we all are a bit impatient I think. If we can't overtake fast enough.

But I've to say: GTsport is usually fun. I love the fights which takes several laps. If it stays clean (a bit contact is not insurmountable if you arent pushed off-track).

I use the radar a lot. But a the tight corners in Bathurst I change the tcs every time.

I agree. I really do try to drive clean, though I do drive aggressively. I am not afraid to go for a move but I always try to leave room for someone, etc. I think my problem is.....I race that way and can encounter several other good drivers doing the same.....then it only takes one guy who is a total jerk to ruin the whole experience, and sometimes I let that get the best of me. That is what I continue to try and be better about. I do still have fun nearly every time out, thankfully!
