Your series is really like F1 with the usage both compounds, and now the 2.02 tire wear that degrades tires just like the pirells do in F1 season this year. All we need to do now is enable DRS, lol!

DRS Enable would = Slip-stream on strong I guess.
See you guys on track'

Hahahaha funny joe , these guys hate the comparison to formula 1 here , I brought it up once and got bashed immediately . We will never see slipstream on strong its just too much.

F1 is the pinnacle of racing so it will always be used as a reference here and there.

I am hoping that we do get a free choice as to use whichever tyre we want to use this season once we do use more than one compound for the race . I've seen other leagues where they require you use all 3 tires but I think that is a silly rule . I think having to use 2 of them is the rule we should use , if erik wants to choose the 2 compounds for each track like they do in f1 I wouldn't object to that but then again I am copying f1 again so I don't see that happening .

The soft is still the fastest tire but it nowhere near being the fastest choice when you have to pit after 4 laps every soft stint .

I really like it for qualifying strategy for example when a faster driver has qualified on medium or hard but you can out qualify them on the soft . It changes the dynamics of the race .

Its a tough decision for Erik to make because who knows we could start the season and then the following week PD releases an update that changes the tire wear physics again , so we shall see

To get the full DRS we would somehow have to change slipstream to strong for certain people at a certain point of the track for a certain period of time :scared:
I think we should keep the original rule for one more race, as Erik keeps on saying, Cape Ring is a poor benchmark for the new tyre wear physics. I would also like the extra strategy for qualifying and fastest lap points.

Well I found that if you enter the track on medium or hard tyres, do one lap and change to soft. Now you can qualify on soft and start the race on medium or hard. Witch I think is not cool. Some here wants to compare it to f1, you see what happens there. The top 10 will have to start on the same tyre they qualified on. Yes not only the same compound but the same tyre. Impossible in GT5.

This is mostly why I want us to qualify and start the race on the same compound. If someone really like so much to be in the lead for 3-5 laps out of 20-50 laps I really cant say I see that as a tactical move. Ok I see you can get the 1 point for pole position. But you will ruin your chance to get more points on the leaderboard.

Also I miss the close combat we did have in season 1 when everyone was on soft. After the first stint back then things started to split up a bit. But now on most tracks we have two groups on the track. And that just after 2-3 laps.

Well I asked before Christmas if Sunday was OK with everyone. No one complained about it.. I can't really know how everyone's schedule is. So when I ask about something like that people should say something then. Maybe we could make a painless pre season. I have no problem moving it to Friday. My problem is that when I try to make it painless for everyone, no one seem to pay attention.

I prefer friday, but Sunday is ok for this one time. maybe we can do 2 races, one on friday & on sunday? then ppl can decide or do both....

Moved to Friday

So Friday 9pm GMT 22:00 CET it is.

EDIT: I could be racing both days, but as I do try to make myself believe I have a life beside GT5 I will only race Friday now.

Im from the states so ill vote for the weekend. Friday is too early here im still at work.

Are we still running the JGTC series on saturdays?

Yes, we just wanted to avoid having a race on Christmas eve and new years eve. So we moved a bit around on the days.

The championship will be Saturdays 9pm UTC/GMT

------------

Also we got our last signup, GTP_Chia signed up through pm with me, he signed up with the Denso Lexus so all teams are now made.
We ended up with only one mix team and both in Honda. Going to be a awesome season guys. 8 teams 16 drivers.
Best of luck to everyone!

Tyre rules apply, but you are free to qualify on what you want. You are also allowed to change tyre compound during qualify.

To qualify on soft and start on medium: Go to track on medium, do one lap change to soft and do the hot lap. I'm not sure if you need to change back as this part of the game is a bit buggy. But there is no way we can police this in a fair way so instead of someone doing it and some not it is open for all. (this is not in the rules, but will have to be tested)

During the race you are only allowed to use the soft once.

My fiancée became sick on Christmas eve so I've been a bit bussy doing a lot more at home than I'm used too. Got to respect what she usually does when she's not sick :dunce:

But I will be online tomorrow practising some for Daytona, hope someone joins me ;)

And "btw"
Just had to share with you guys one of our TV channels news program had a news item of eye treatment for the elderly. And this is how it looked:
