Did't enjoy this one... next time i will try to practise.

At the start of the race i had to do last minute things, so i wasn't focus on the race. Which is why i could't avoid you Erik, who never moves a muscle at the start anyway:mischievous:

I just drove bad. becaus Grayfox & skendige did more pits i could profit from that but i even made more mistakes. And if it could't get any worse i did use sport tyres instead of racing softs. How can i remove them from the car? i don't want to do this mistake again in the season.

At some point i did notice my front tyres were degrading faster so i did use hard at the front and normal tyres at the back. My tyres degrading now at the same rate and whitout mistakes i could do more laps on the set.

I've never thought of mixing the tires like that soft/medium or medium/hard but that is a good idea if it is legal ?

Is this legal ?

Well I think the first stint was really cool, seeing the cars in front of me taking the awesome turns this track have. Was one epic moment for me. I know its new to most here, but I hope it will grow on people as it something different from what we do already have on the list.

I managed to hold IMMORTALPILOT for some laps, but in the end I made a mistake and since I got some distance to IMMORTAL, I got my down force back and decided I use that stint to do my 7 lap stint (bad call).
After that he just increased his lead lap after lap, good race IMMORTALPILOT I hope someone will give you some competition during the season , I guess when your car gets success ballast we might have a chance ;)

I know the tyre wear is a issue for some people and it was for me the first day after the update. It's actually not something to cry over, just need a different look on things when adjusting your car. Also it punish people who over drive their wheels. Meaning you turn your wheel more than your car actually turn. This way used to be a fast way to drive in GT5, compared to real life that sucked. Driving like that in the real world will kill your tyres. It did so before too, but not fast enough.

The tyre wear also acts a bit different now, before I would never run my tyres all the way down as my car slowed down to much. It slows down now too, but 5-10% left on the tyres feels much better now than before. The Soft tyres doesn't feel this way, they just slow down very much and are tyres I feel are pretty much useless.

A hot tips guys. Free run do not add km/miles to your car so before enter the room for warm-up/practice you can do an oil change. You can run 1000laps in free run and you will not need a oil change. Would make things more smooth if people did this. Then we don't have to "brb"

All in all good race and I got some data I will spend some time on during Christmas to see what we should do with the rules.

I hope you all enjoy the Christmas holly day, I know I will. Merry Christmas guys.

its legal for now...unless they will make a rule that you can not...

Oh and its about time your cars are broken in by now guys ;)

Getting tired of repeating this, but send a b-spec bob out on a endurance race with it tonight and go to bed.. when you wake up.. change oil and your car is ready ;)

i did notice this too. i don't mind the faster degrading tyres, its something i get to get used to. (but it ruins our seasonal tyre rule, which i did like) but more importent, its for everyone the same so its all fine by me.

lol, it had a reason you know. I was playing uncharted 1, 2 & 3 the whole week. and at my first few laps at Cape ring my tyres were gone so i had to try a car whitout the ridgity improvement last minute. :dunce:

But you are my team mate maxi, you could just ask.. I have a few reserves, all broken in of course.

I could send one to everyone, but are only allowed to send one pr 24h :(

how could i know you have a whole garage full of Motuls. :ill: I usual have 1 car each.

Why do you have that many Motuls? Do you have for each track a diffrent car 💡 ?

Anways gonna buy again a new Motul and break it in. One whitout soft sport tyres. Just to prevent problems next year :sly:
maybe i can break it in when i am eating like crazy. while my bspecs have to work :)

I suggest that the rule about one soft stint doesn't change. The use of it might change a lot, but it can be used once. I also would like to suggest that the qualify happens on medium tyres and the first stint is on medium tyres by everyone. After that you can choose to go to hard/medium or your one allowed soft stint. This way we get a fair qualify and a more exiting first stint.

I think we might see enough tactics between the hard tyres and the medium tyres so the room for tactics doesn't change much. Just the Soft compound, and thats something we cant do anything about. A nice new way to go by PD in my opinion. Makes for a lot of tactics.

And remember that Cape Ring, we just did, always ate tyres and the new tyre wear wont make that better ;)

What do you guys think?

Oh and I still vote for Cape Ring over Daytona, boring track witch is pretty narrow on the "road" part of the track.
And if we don't have to do daytona next week we can do something we all know better to really put the new tyre wear to a test were we actually could get some decent answers.

me like 👍

Decided to make it at 21:07 but the room was already full! Sorry for not coming earlier.
Anyway, I guess my controller wouldn't make it, it was already with zero battery.
I see you had a good race.

I would like to vote against the one soft stint rule and the qualify only on medium tire rule .

I tested the soft a lot yesterday and it can be used to play an important role in race strategy as you all see I had pole and decent pace til i spun out , lol .

The medium and hard are still better choices and will be used more but I see no reason for a 1 stint soft rule now , not with the new tire wear.

I cant say I'm surprised SkengD, you been against almost everything I suggested. But when getting pole yesterday on soft meant that after 2-3 laps you where just holding up the field instead of being tactical you were a mobile road block.

Try soft on Nurburgring GP/F and you see you could actually save time using those tyres. Even if you have to pit a lot. I've done serious testing before I propose anything in this tread, but you seem to be against it with no testing at all.

Erik , I just said that I tested the soft yesterday during the race .

Holding up a competitor or the field is just racing , I definetely didn't bad drive anyone to maintain position.

Yes on nurburgring gp and other tracks the soft may be a better compound but isn't that just racing as well , its for us to adjust our strategies and techniques for each race/track.

I'm sorry that it seems like I just go against everything you suggest / propose , I don't mean to come across like that , I guess its just unavoidable .

I am simply just pleading my case . I hope we will have further discussion and consideration before you make a decision .

I didn't really bother to test the soft during the race yesterday. Like I said they were useless on a track like Cape Ring. Seeing those who used soft wasn't really competitive anyway.

And yes holding up the field is racing, I have no problems with that. I just try to make our races more fun for everyone and I wont be angry if someone hold me up. But trying to make the qualify fair for everyone by forcing a rule about what compound everyone use will just make a fair qualify.
Also the race start will be with more cars following each other for more than a lap and I hoped this would be more tense for everyone. I really don't care who is first in the field or last. I just want the field to be close to each other for a more racing like situation. Like real life.
SuperGT in real life even have pit windows. to avoid tactical moves to enforce even races. while we have a lot of room for tactical moves. So I really don't feel like I limiting the room for tactic in a unfair matter here.
We decided we didn't wanted soft as our primary tyres before the 2.02 and PD decided that as well I guess. Driving around on soft prior to the 2.02 was if your honest with yourself pretty much a joke. And if we still can use Soft as a primary tyre I wanted to limit it.
I guess your pleading your case while I try to make it work for everyone is the different in our argument. If I was to plead my case I would say limit the room to racing hard.
And then you might see I'm closer to pleading you than my self.

Immortal I'm available for a race today so if we can get some others we can still have a race .

Afraid I wont be available to race, Christmas is just one of those weekends I decide to abandon everything for ;)
