So shall we try and get an exact number for Saturday, 11 say, and see if it works. Still Fuji or not?

I really don't know what to do Adam, I have my car set up for fuji and if it works it would be very good to count it as a race. But on the other hand, if it proves to be just as bad it would be bloody boring to race Fuji again and again and again..

I will cry real tears if we don't have a good working race this weekend

I really feel with you, I love to race. I never before joining this series raced online. But now I'm hooked on it. And I'm really getting sick of this issues presented to us by PD. It should be as easy as joining the room and race. Not to restart several times, try different settings to the room. And do things to you ps3/router that should really not be needed to race online.
I'm serious about buying a gaming pc and try different pc sims as a replacement to GT5, But I will miss out on all the fun we have and at the moment I cant afford a expensive computer. I could use the pc I already have, but it's getting old and in all my pc gaming experience it did come down to the best computer. I love the console as everyone should have the same hardware and it should be a fair playing field. But in this case the console just isn't good enough it seems.
I really hope this is getting fixed as I will miss it to much if it's not. I play the game offline, and I do b-spec races, but only because I love the game when playing online. If the online part goes away, it ends up on the shelf.

Its really weird.. I have raced on public servers with 16 drivers from lots of ocuntry and it didnt lag. is our open server fixed host or.. ??

I tried both, last it was fixed. And according to the manual of the game that should be best if we have people with low bandwidth. And when I experienced lag in a private lobby where everyone sends a lot more data I figured that would be the smartest way to go. And it seems to have worked great in the pre season. But as we never were more than 10 people so we couldn't really test it for real.

I suggest that we should try to setup a "test race" sometime this week with as many people as possible and try different things and go from there.

Yes guys let's just try whatever we can and let's see if we can bring something positive out of all this negative .

You say that but say we get 15 and it doesn't work, we tell one guy to leave and do it without him if it starts working.

Just looking at a old gt500 fuji replay I have and I did 18 laps on the soft tire , wow , I don't even think I can get 8 now

for me its the other way around, i only could do 6 laps on soft, in practise i did 14 laps. both on low fuel. :ill:

we just have to wait for some fixing-patch. We are not the only league who got this problem.

I just got one idea, and before you laugh yourself to death over it bare with me.

After what I understood, ProPersian didn't lag at fuji, atleast not more than he could push in a 1:35... something lap in lap 3 or as we did a rolling start lap 2. Whats different between our accounts. He haven't shared b-spec drivers, did not share any pictures and also he haven't shared a car. I mean if PD test online play they probably didn't go to level 40 on b-spec to share 6 drivers and 6 cars and 6 photos before testing it.

I know this is a long shot and probably wont fix anything, but at this time I'm willing to try anything. So I took my my drivers down, had to spend a lot of money doing so as 200% log in bonus make it pretty much when they have over 1mill cr each. Also I'm not sharing cars and photos anymore. Copied how ProPersians profile looks like ;)

If its not fixing a thing they are of course going back up, but if this fix this I'm done with remote races :scared:

Now you can laugh, I'm dead serious, but I know it sounds just stupid!

Erik if we ran the game on standard how would it affect the race or the times , I was never told what the differences in race quality actually mean and do.

And you usually set mics to low ?

Its not a bad idea but my lap times were fairly normal and I do have shared drivers and pictures. I suppose it's as good a theory as "it only affects wheel users"

We have tested standard and extra low, didn't help at all, I really don't think this is about race quality. The packets sent is after what I read very small and shouldn't be a problem for any of our connections. Of course if you have packet loss you could look like a frame skipper. This is a online in game bug as far as I can see it. If it was race quality.. how come Netherdragon and Arkano had it as worst? They both do have decent internet speed.

Mics are set to low of course, been doing this a few times now so yes I don't forget it. Actually that settings remember what I did last time ;)

Eric, it doesn't sound stupid but I don't share anything online and I still experienced the lag although I'm only B-Spec 34.

Just trying to figure out a way without us having to wait for an update .

Really hope the league doesn't shut down like my other league :(

It's only speculations of course, as everything is at this point.

We wont shut down mate, we just want to find a way to make it fair for everyone before we start our 3rd season.
Just that we experienced lag before and every "known" way of fixing it have been tested.
Then we experience the best races ever and forget about it.. for a while until it gets back.
Of course if nothing good comes out of this and PD decide they will give us another GT-R I will give this game up.

I have always B-specs for sharing, and i have alot of pictures do i need to remove them from sharing?

Laps were starting to get normal for me at the end. but then i was driving "alone" at the time and we were only whit 10 racers left. I removed my saved internet files before the race. and my PS3 wireless connection is manually done( ports, DNS server, IPadress)

Actually i did just make a spec driver only 1 with lvl 28. but thats about it. I also felt when the microphones were OFF nobody lagged in my screen, even Falcon who used to lag little bit didn't lag at all. They were so good that i had a very good race with falcon in the start .. but his tire wear failed on him and i could get the opportunity to make some distance.. but overall i think this should be able to solved even before pd.. but of course not Perfectly solved but we can definitely do something about it to lag less.

Anyone bought about my email idea??

Anyway back to arranging some good music ;)

I could formulate a pre-scripted e-mail to send to PD, but at the moment I really don't have the time, got a really busy month ahead of me.

[Speculation]
Well the theory I thought of wasn't really the level your b-spec bob is, but GT5 seems to "call home" a lot, just try log off and take a browse in the in game menu. It will very soon want you to log on. Shared stuff is uploaded so pictures shouldn't really be a problem. But b-spec drivers seems to be more available from the game itself. Because if they get a race their price money updates immediately. And I do not think of the very small amount of traffic that would be, but it could be a messed up net code in the game making it argue over traffic and bring the online experience to a halt.

Edit: also the log is updated every time a b-spec bob joins a race or ends a race
[/Speculation]

So what do we do this Saturday guys. I would like to suggest that everyone that can show up and we fill up the room and spend 1-2 hours of testing and if we get everything to work we could start our season the weekend after. Testing during the week will be a waste of time as I doubt everyone could show up.
Big time different and people busy with work and school kinda mess up midweek.

Everyone who hasn't already check this out. Yes even if you never had problems before and even if your PS3 say you have NAT2.
I back checked a bit and, season 1 was problem free, find one race with more than 10 people! (except for nur24h were we had 11 starting and one quitting because he clamed he had lag and didn't want to mess up the race of the rest of the guys)
Season 2 was also problem free when we had less than 10 people on the track.
So I doubt this "new found bug" are as new as we like to believe.

This is what Ive done to my ps3 and home network the last two days.

PS3
Unshared b-spec drivers (with the new b-spec seasonal event I don't need to grind remote races for cr. anymore) They stay offline until test is done

Deleted a lot of old replays and pictures. Don't needed them and since the lag doesn't occur during free run but as soon as the race start It could be the game replay saving messing things up.. don't think this help, but I rather test than not.

Went through the network settings to make sure it was like I put it

Deleted all files stored in the BGM menu, was a few mp3 files there.

Router
Checked log from Saturday, no errors had happened to it. It was with 0 issues since the last 44 days (when I had a power failure here)
Checked if the DMZ I made through my router to my ps3 was still active (it was)

Also I hard booted my fiber box, router and switch.

I checked every cables inside the house found one cable I changed, but it was connected to my computer and that had been connected to internett for 18 days, so I doubt it changed anything..

Also I terminated a FTP server I made for you guys but no one wanted, not in use so no traffic in the log file, but now it's gone.

Closed the port to that ftp server in the router.

---------------------------------------------------
Actually after taking my b-spec bobs offline I think my GT5 seems faster, but it could just as well be because I want to belive it.

Hi everyone, sorry I've been taking so long recording the replays for season 2 :(. Before xmas I didn't have much time to record due to having building constructors in the house everyday for about 7 weeks (it's not finished yet and it's been a month since they left for xmas holiday and we still don't know when they're coming back to finish:grumpy:) and I got MW3 for xmas so thats been distracting me quite a bit, that game is too addicting.

I'm recording some more replays right now as I'm typing this. Arkano and Erik, do you still want the videos for season 2 at this time with season 3 about to start?

I suggest you do it for season 3 Joey 👍

In season 1 we always had 8-10 drivers. Twice we started whit 12. (Laguna Seca & nurburg24h) we had no problems at Laguna seca if i am correct.

In season 2 we had often 10-11 drivers & 3 times we had 12-13 drivers and most races were great even at monaco.

So its possible to do good races whit 12/13 drivers, So i am not sure this is a old bug Erik.

Laguna we were 9 at the scoreboard from season 2, and Nurburgring 24h we had 7.. I remember anastasis started but left so we had 8 for about one lap.. although he was standing on the start finish line. I don't know were you get this from, but if you know something I don't please enlighten me!

And it was more to my message than 1 line so feel free to bombard me with suggestions to solve this and suggestion to what we should do.

If you believe 2.03 is going to correct this read the news section and if for some odd reason new themes for my gt home will fix it I get suprissed.

Ok I wont argue on that.. So your sollution would be to end the championship? as I only read history here and not anything about the future?

For once.. the upcoming Saturday. What should we do? watch tv?

And could you figure out a solution to our problem, the problem is recorded back in june for some other championships on gtplanet so maybe we had some luck, but problems seemed to have occurred long before spec 2. Problem is there and should be fixed, but for now it isn't

We did figure out that if one guy in the field have problems it would make the room fall apart. I tried in my post to tell you guys what Ive done. While other seem to have a problem connect their ps3 to a cable to test that. I'm done testing things if I'm one of few to test it. Because everyone need to try solve this.
And then it just doesn't matter if we had a lag free race with 11-14 players in the past. I been playing open lobby races with 16 players with no problems, but when trying a 13 player race with you guys it wont work 50% of the times.

I was just trying to say its possible to drive good races whit that many people. it does not have to be a problem from a while back.

I suggest everyone who cares about this league to show up this saturday. I believe 1 or 2 drivers have conflicts whit each others connection on a already broken online game.

So everyone. Remove your saved internet files in gt5. (delete at the GT5 optionsscreen) before enter lobby.

and if not done yet: try this

i doubt it has any effect but i will remove My GT5 foto's and shared B-spec drivers.

Ι was experiencing the black screen back, and I quitted after 10 minutes seeing nothing else but dark in my screen ;)
