If You Could only Drive One Car for the Rest of Your Life, What Would it be?

It would have to be a dual-clutch auto. I'd probably end up with the Panamera as well (assuming it comes with a PDK).

I think it does. Although not in the above image, where it looks just plain lumpy.

I did see one today parked in a slightly ropey bit of town, as it happens. Perhaps I should pop back and take a few snaps.

I will be living with this old gal for the rest of my life, although I'll probably always have another beater to go with it, but if I had to I could live with her for the rest of my life.

The seats are comfy, there is a ton of space to put stuff with the back seat and trunk separator down, enough power to have fun with (although I'd love a 340 or 360), and she's pretty reliable. The only time she ever quit on me was when the alternator went, but I'm very pleased considering she's 44 years old.

I do however desperately want to get a bigger engine, fix all the rust, and upgrade the brakes, suspension, and rear axle.

Why is everyone calling the Panamera ugly? I think it looks great in person, and especially in black too. I'd still rather have that Merc.

Anyone else but me think that the front end of the Panamera looks like a Corvette?

The Corvette has body-colour headlight graphics, which I don't get, as well as what makes them dissimilar in my eyes.

I usually refrain from commentary on most designs until I see one in person. I also usually think almost anything looks better in person, and afterwards looks better in photo once I've spent time with a real one.

That said, I've seen a bunch and they still haven't grown on me. Just ugly pugs... Style is important for many people, even if it isn't the what true car enthusiasts are "supposed" to care about. My thoughts on the Panamera would probably prevent me from ever owning one, even in fantasy situations like these.

Maybe if I get to see one through my camera's lens will I appreciate its lines more (but it's gone the other way too in the past).

Oh, I know it's not a Chinese design scheme, I'm just saying they look rather similar, I can't help but think "Corvette" when I see the Panamera.

the lotus omega! Based on the carlton, comfortable, practical (seeing if you get a trailer hitch from a regular carlton/omega), not that bad on milage, big enough to not feel crammed when you have passengers, and more than enough space for luggage++

And besides.. it was the fastest saloon for 10 years, capable of doing 280 Km/h in stock form! Fun to drive, always capable to go sideways and easy to tune up!

OK, if we're talking about the upcoming apocalypse, then I'd probably want one of those Defender 110s back on the first page, but only with aftermarket replacement parts for all the stuff that's likely to break.

If we're just talking about cars in general, then I'd want an E46 M3 Touring with a 3-pedal manual. Though that Liberty/Legacy STi thing up there looks pretty hot, too, assuming I could have it in LHD.

That Legacy is a win

I'll have one of these

Chuck Norris has one of these now, everything else is now irrelevant.

an E46 M3 Touring

That doesn't exist. :indiff:

I saw one of these today, and this would be a contender for me. Quite possibly one of the coolest cars ever built, especially the Autodelta version.

Ah, the one that got away...Always a good choice, in my opinion.

The year I sold it, was the year I found out that it was California Smog exempt. :dopey:

Hey-Sus Cry-st!! I would've sold the wife first before I got rid of that!! That looks awesome, what sidedraughts are they, weber's or dellorto's and how big were they?? I had a TA22 back in the day with the 2T-G, and that engine was bulletproof, 6500rpm burnouts all day long!! Same couldn't be said for the suspension, strut tower collapsed at 70km/h......scary ass ride when that happened!!

Some of these cars you've all chosen are awesome, but I've already made my pick, and have to stick with it.

Mikunis 45's japanese version of Webers. It had a high compression 2 liter stroker kit, HKS gear kit, TRD springs, Hi volume oil pump, bigg valves, LSD and the list goes on and on. :ill::banghead::grumpy:

Yes please. Although I think I'd go for the 2.5L diesel rather than the V8, simply for longevity's sake. Sacrifice in horsepower but increases range and diesels will burn more than just diesel, and yes, I have experience with this courtesy a short-lived period of time with a wheezy but whimsical Mercedes Benz 220D

Featherlite Vantare Platinum Plus !
Am i allowed to keep a TVR in the garage?
Dammit you said car huh. Ok it would be a Maybach :)

Its got four seats for the family. Got a kickin' stereo for when your on a long road trip. Its got a wonderful All Wheel Drive system that allows it to be safe. Broad range of aftermarket parts to give it an extra kick. Little turbo lag. Its got a straight six engine, which from personal experience, are very reliable. And of course its Japanese, meaning its very unlikely to break down. Plus its a car you can drive everyday, and still go to the track with on the weekend.

All in all, its probably my undying love for this car. From 5 years to now. The worst part is I have only seen one in real life, and it was all molested on the outside. Being in America, I can no longer import one. And to find someone who had it imported back in the MotoRex days that is selling it is even more rare. ANd to find one unmodified is like finding a Hollywood celebrity without some sort of plastic surgery. There are some, its just not going to be easy to find.

I would have it in that color though. Such a pure blue. And the V-Spec II model. For added performance.
