ilikewaffles11's Toyotas

Automatic transmission, incredibly hard to find one with a manual. It DOES have button shifter things if you'd rather so that however. I believe my dad is asking $6500 for it.
Unfortunately it's manual or nothing for my dad and I. Not a bad price, though, I'm sure someone will get a lot of enjoyment out of it. :)

So took the Supra to the first large show of the year that wasn't Cars and Coffee. Carlisle imports and kit nationals!

Met up at about 4AM with my dad who took his Celica Alltrac, and the one guy from work with his Miata 1UZFE Lexus V8 swap. Reason we left so early is because my dad wanted to meet up with some guys from a Hemmings magazine to write an article about his car, at 7 AM. Two hour drive plus we stop for breakfast on the way, so had to go incredibly early.

Stopped at a roadside diner for breakfast

Got an surprisingly large amount of attention, was pleasantly surprised.

Was the only Supra in the entire show. Was a really fun time! I even managed to find a brochure for a 1985 Supra in the vendor area! :D

Oh, how I miss those days. Waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning, packing the car with endless supplies of car cleaning products, heading down to the motorway and meeting up at the services and convoying down to Silverstone or Donington like a pack of wolves. Except we were a pack of Mondeos.

Looked like an awesome time! I can't wait until I can drive and can start going to shows again. :D

I'd enjoy it even more if I'd gotten more than 5 hours sleep. I enjoyed leaving really early, stopping for breakfast, with my car being the pack mule. But a two hour drive down and another two hour drive back with only 5 hours of sleep, not so fun.

Looking forward to some of the other shows this summer! :D

Also, Supra at Cars and Coffee this morning

Supra and friend :D My friend's '85 Celica GTS, was helping him tinker with a few things. Straightened out some of the shoddily done wiring for the jury rigged fog lights and speaker. Bad wiring, bad wiring everywhere.

It seems lots of people I run into used to own MK2 Supras, somebody who was leaving from the one house next door came over and was talking about his old Supra and how much he loved it. Been getting that a lot lately.

Also, rainbows

Well this explains the whole classic Japanese car fanatic thing I mentioned two days ago.... BEAUTIFUL!

Dat license plate... so close to JDM.

Thanks! :)

There's actually quite a few if you look around. :sly:
Your welcome. I want a Levin or whatever the AE86 is known as here in America. I'm more muscle car guy than a JDM/tuner car guy, but its possible for those two types of people to coexist and not have to get a referee between them. Your car is how a car of its kind should be. No insane stickers, no hideous custom touches, its all perfect in one package that I begin to question if I should still be calling it a package rather than a shipping container because of how awesome your car is.

Yea, at some point I'd love to buy an AE86. Unfortunately most are either beat to hell or made into 'drifter bro' cars. Plus the body doesn't hold up well in the parts.

I agree with the whole coexisting thing, I'm primarily a JDM fan, but I do enjoy some classic muscle cars as well. The ricer crowd really makes the rest of the JDM crowd look bad, just like the idiots in Mustangs who do burnouts at Cars and Coffee and get them shutdown. But the majority of the people in either side aren't like that. :)

Its the ricers that make me mad. You have a JDM side and the non-JDM guys look down on you because of the ricers' crazy antics. Unfortunately, I live in an area with a lot of cars that fit the Questionable Mods thread. However, there are few times when I see something good, but just not enough.

Pretty much yea. Where I am it's also quite similar unfortunately. There's a bit of nice stuff left out there, just don't see it much.

The holy grail of all the riced cars I've seen is a tie between a teal EK Civic with brighter than bright orange rims, and a red Dodge Neon (not an SRT4 either) with twin black racing stripes and a black SRT4 spoiler. Maybe throw in a blue Impreza WRX STi with bright green rims when I was in central PA.

I'm losing my mind looking at classic JDM cars for sale. AND SO CHEAP! I found an '82 Datsun 720 Pickup for sale.
Mint condition. Hope to buy something this summer, and go for a car meet. Love these cars. They have a lot of character.

Maybe a Supra and a drive down to Pennsylvania.

I've seen quite a few ricers in my day, however this is probably the worst one I've seen recently. Saw this at Cars and Coffee, and was unfortunate enough to have it park behind me.

That thing is awesome! I'd love an old Datsun like that, particularly a 240Z or a 510. They certainly do have a lot of character!

That sounds like a plan to me. :P

Beautiful car man, shame these and the Mk. III Supras get so overshadowed by the Mk. IVs. Really like the 80s styling of these, most underrated design period in my eyes!

Thank you! I completely agree, whenever I take it to Cars and Coffee, hardly anyone cares. Every wants some MK4 with a twin turbo built up 1000HP 2JZGTE. Yet it really is a fantastic car which I don't think gets enough credit.

So, today I checked my oil after putting it off, even though I know I shouldn't have, after our drive to Carlisle. I'm REALLY glad I didn't harm my engine, was running with about 2 quarts of oil gone. :nervous: And now my dad is saying that it could use a new radiator, so I'll have to search for one on EBay.

On a better note, finally decided to explore some of the backroads around my house. As much as I complain about how bad Pennsylvania roads are (AKA pot hole central), there really are some fantastic roads if you know where to look. Had an absolute blast doing some spirited driving wherever I felt the need to go. Very picturesque as well, wish there were places to stop and take some pictures. Will definitely be headed down there some more! :D

No pictures because it needs a wash. Was gonna do it today but no point since it's gonna rain the next two days anyway...

Pothole Central, eh? No truer words have been spoken. Ever.

Good luck with the radiator.

The pot hole Capitol of America essentially. :P

Thanks, it's not something urgent that needs to be done immediately, but the one in it currently isn't exactly great. Leaks a tiny bit, and is rather worn out. Shouldn't be to expensive, and I already replaced it before so I know it's not that difficult to do.

Welcome. The radiator hopefully won't get worse.
