It's nothing important.

Back on topic: I'll have to agree with your first post, about import coming to mean mostly Japanese cars.

askia has a problem understanding what is an opinion, and what is a fact. Here is another thread displaying this.

milefile, if i tell someone my opinion i am not starting an argument. I am telling them my opinion. If someone decides to respond to that post with some good points, it becomes a discussion. When you come and constantly make negative posts responding to my posts, that is an attempt to start an argument.

I do not look for arguments. I think you do....................

I know what you mean, but give them time - even Hyundai admits that it's much as Toyota was 30 years ago: trying to win brand loyalty and market share in a market afraid of change. But as long as they keep making decent cars like the Elantra (especially the GT) and the new Tiburon/Coupe (especially the V6) they'll have what they want in no time. Same goes for Suzuki, excepting that it's Japanese.

I am in the auto repair business proffesionally. I find the "import" cars to be far easier to work on than their american counterparts. The initial engineering in an import is far superior overall than that of an american car.European imports ,( porsche , ferrari , BMW , mercedes ) are in a league all their own. Here's a little known fact: Most american cars are 60 to 75% imported parts. ( Brazil,Philipines,Mexico,China)

No offense or anythng but I have heard way different. Imports (as in Japanese) are controlled more by computers than American cars and there fore need a specially trained technician or you need to but alot of expensive equipment if you want to do them yourself. American cars need alot of work too but Japanese Imports need more just because of the technology behind them. European cars are the easiest as they never need work since most of the m are so well buit ...
