Snapped at the Galaxy of Cars at MOTAT in Auckland. It was mostly old iron of British and American ancestry (nothing wrong with that though) but also a sprinkling of J tin and European metal. I might post some other pics up later on.....
Please do. You going to the Concours today?

You can't. That's Nomura's new Drift Car. Sad that it means the ride's over for the ER34.

the picture is
BlitzR35.jpg

note fuzzy fender and badly shopped on name stickers still with the background surround, plus wrong names and the kits different AND the 'drift performance 2007' on the hood blows it even more
plus:

article-aug08 Unfortunately we haven't yet managed to find any pictures of Blitz's rear-drive R35 (we are, of course, assuming it actually exists), however until we do you can tide yourself over with this artists' rendering and the crudely-photoshopped image.

this however, is i believe the actual car

Damn, I thought you'd at least bring it back with something sweet. Nooooo, you post that thing.

Not an import, but sweet:

I'm surprised they don't make Speedglass for the MR-S.

I'm surprised he didn't just cut the thing off.

(I've posted that before)

Anyway, I found something interesting about a car you know, Exigeracer, that's not worthy of its own thread.

The FrankenLotus.

And that car on the pictured course (don't mess with 1.5g):

There's something about cars "built" to do circles around parking lots that doesn't appeal to me. Maybe it's the massively oversized tires, or the huge wings required to achieve effective downforce at those speeds, or something...

I'll take going through a corner flat out at the top of 3rd gear any day.

Sometimes I wonder how well an autocross car like that yellow MR-S would do on a big track with an appropriate big-track alignment. The cars without spoilers on the rear end would probably just spin out all over the place because their springs ans sways are set up for major oversteer.

EDIT:

Here's that yellow MR-S having a rough time without aero on the same course as the Lotus:

Fine.

Should have made them that way from the factory... minus the Nissin/Spoon boat anchors, though.

Oh, and, hate all you want, these two are totally awesome.

I agree with him.

Also, Chasebays, apparently, is awesome. I think I'm going to tuck my engine bay so as to make diagnosing electrical problems near-impossible.

Because electrical problems in brand new wiring harnesses are very common...

But what happens when it isn't brand new anymore? I'd rather just leave it the way it is so I can follow the diagrams and pictures really easy if I ever need to.

My wiring in my flood damaged car is 10 years old this year and the only problem I've had is a rusted out ECU.

Are you really that worried about it?

EDIT: Also, the diagrams remain accurate, just some of the plug locations won't be.

Most of the time I'd agree with this statement.....

However.

Where do I sign up for one of these?

You post all those girly MR-S' but you don't even mention the MK2 in the background of that one pic.

I can't wait till the local autox season starts up again...

See, who needs to be slammed to have great roll stiffness?

img_5468.jpg

There weren't any MK2s in any higher class than that. Why would that be?...

Did the Power to Weight Ratio stay the same throughout the years?

Probably depends on the engines. The basic SW20s (at least those available in the UK) don't have much more power (if not less) than the AW11s, yet the weight is much higher. Throw in a turbo to the SW20 though and maybe that's reversed. As for the MR-S, it must be similar on power to weight to the AW11, I should expect. If not better.

That would be a non turbo. The NA MR2 is still doing well in ES. The turbo is classed a bit poorly for stock competition. I may be wrong but I believe they are in BS now?

Although it doesn't matter much to me as mine is in SSM :P

Hmmm.. Can't imagin the MR2's are bad handling cars..
They must not be competitive in the Prepared classes. That yellow MR-S, a few Miatas, and a MK1 MR2 were in the D Prepared class, but MR2s didn't make a showing at that championship race in any prepared class. Not light enough, and not enough options.

The bigger blow to the MR2s is the struts versus wishbone suspensions. The Civics and Miata have wishbones, which gives them an edge in parking lots for sure.

To break up the MR2/MR-S chat a little....
