The Bug is apparently rocking a Porsche 6-cylinder, too.

Well, it did have a boxer engine by default...mind you, a Karmann would work just as well. Just you have to bear in mind it's lower, longer, faster, more powerful and more torquey.

I gotta see some more angles of that bug.

And those Foresters, I think I just had a crisis

This is the only other decent pic of the VW.

Edit:

Someone brought their old Saab to the drags? What a fool.

Wait, that's a cage in there. And a very short exhaust pipe...

And now it's owning a JZA80?

Apparently some handy fab skills mean that this engine is bolted to an Audi AWD drivetrain.

The STis that Fred posted look like serious, competent, fun-to-drive vehicles. Most of the stuff further up the page looks idiotic, with the slamming and the massive uncorrected camber and less-than-zero fender clearance. They are a triumph of looks over drivability.

It's not "uncorrected" camber most likely in the sense that they didn't just slam it and not correct it, they probably purposely set it up that way to fit the wheels.

I understand that. It was just easier to put it that way, even if it was not exactly correct.

Exactly the point. Idiotic to the most, I think you'd be right. But it was the fad, trend of Japanese "bosozoku". They were sort of a street racing, riding gangs. They went for the looks, as much as they went for the performance. In many cases, all for the looks, ignoring performance, or drivability, completely.

As retarded as they would seem from the "driver's" view, I have little more than a soft spot for them. If you like these 暴走族(bosozoku) type cars, try searching for シャコタン(shakotan-lowered). You should find some weird Japanese lowering jobs. :D ケンメリ(KenMary) is a good one too, if you like some throwback Skylines. 👍

By the way, Duke. What a perfect way to describe those cars. Triumph of looks over drivability. I like that!

Ewwww too much hondas time for some rotarys lol.
