That intercooler, piping and throttle body is a little too big for that turbo, will just reduce response more than needed.

That picture was shot nearly 10 years ago... "Spanky" is a timeless little car.

Nice work contributing to the Import thread on your birthday Fred :)

As to the green hatch, man that's choice. Is that what Arnel's now red offset-happy hatch used to look like? Not that I don't also like the current iteration of it but I'm digging the classic style, duckbill + RNRs.

No, that was Lee Randle's little hatchback, circa 98 to 2000. This is my favorite EG hands down, that issue of Super Street and the picture I posted earlier is responsible for everything I've done with cars ever since I first saw it. He's done a bunch more cars after this one, but this one's most famous because it was pretty much the precursor to the JDM craze. Back in those days everyone was going with 18" wheels, bodykits and two tone vinyl interiors... No one knew what Regamaster EVO's were, nor BBR Competition's. This thing was in a league of its own. It's way easier to source parts from Japan these days, yet I don't think I've seen a hatch that clean ever since.

Ended up being stolen and stripped, the shell was never found.

Here's more of it, at different stages.

Also noteworthy was the Integra project that more or less followed his EG.

Oh, and just for kicks, since you're talking about Arnel...

This was Arnel, 2006:

Arnel, 2009:

And to think it was "pushing the envelope" back in '06...

Ah, my memory fails me. I thought that Arnel's car sported the plate SPANKY so that's what I was going by.

That red Integra, was that built in the early 2000s? I don't know too much about the Honda scene but surely that would that have been one of the earlier JDM front ends running about?

2003 or 2004 I believe, maybe 2005. The JDM scene was in full boom back then, though.

Can't really say who did the JDM conversion first, and what car it was.

Oh my god!!! This thing is still online!!! Originators of the JDM movement in North America... if it wasn't for those guys we'd all be running around with Invader bodykits, 18" wheels and dragon vinyls!

That guy with the green Civic and the red Integra really knows what he's doing doesn't he. Both those cars look amazing. I like the Del Sol seats in the Civic too, nice choice.

The red Civic with the stupid camber however is not my cup of tea. It looked okayyyy in the 2006 picture but that 2009 one is just ridiculous.

Agree with every word, I really hate stupid camber. Functional but stylish is where my tastes lie.

I need more of that car... Speedhunter's coverage of it is pretty weak, so I'm gonna do what I like to do and get lost amongst Japanese websites. :)

I don't like the spoiler, having the mountings so close together on the inside looks odd. Past that though the car looks awesome.

Aww yuck are you serious, we have enough R33's that look like that.

(fronts ok though, colour isn't)

mmmmm, clean.

I like that it's been made just that little bit more "Stock" in appearance. The new bumper really sets it off.

It's a rabbit truck. It's awesome stock. With a Diesel.

But I think that may be A Honda motor...which knocks the Awesome down a bit.

Dayum. That Skyline was blue, like, last week.

Talk about quick.

EDIT: Risky Devil is awesome.

And for the lols:

This is how you drive a lowered car:

Or do this:

That's why I like ridiculous lows with stock bodywork. Still looks nice but won't scrape as often and when it does it isn't as expensive.

I hate our roads out here in the midwest.

love how those RX7s sound though. I'd love to own an FC3S if only they had a reliable part on them...
