That 4 door E36 M3 is fantastic. Something BMW should have actually made.

I do think you mean E46 there... This would be an E36 sedan

I thought you were saying that Prower should get out more? Maybe you should join him and come out to Australia to see how crap roads can really be in the first world...

Unlike Australia, we have seasons. With snow, which means road treatment, in addition to chains and studded snow tires. My comment was more in regard to the irony of us reducing revenue to the Depart of Traffic in Washington State by leveling a flat registration fee of $40 or so, instead of a percent based on the value of the car.

But yes, the total price for me to get, say, a 2002 M5, which I can find nice ones for $25,000, would, after tax and all, be about $27,550 :sly:

And while we are at it, might as well add more BMW goodness...

Because even at £15k it was steal compared to the competition.

Are compact cars really that expensive in the UK? I mean it looks like a base Mazda 3 is about the price and I have to imagine it's a much better car. Although they don't still sell the Neon there right? I know it's out of the US market but it still could be in Europe.

Probably one of my favourite BMWs 👍

Why in gods name would any ever think about buying a Neon in the UK for that price?

Because elderly people don't know any better and the Neon is inoffensive on virtually every level, making it perfect for people who want a car as exciting as an empty fridge.

The price of compact cars seems to fluctuate wildly. At the time, the Neon represented good value. Then Citroen went mental and cut £4k off the price of everything in their dealerships and all the other companies followed suit, so they were great value for a while. And now, companies like Ford have gone mad again and you can get a fairly bland, standard diesel Focus for something like £18k which seems absolutely ridiculous for a small family car. The average Focus now isn't much different on price to a Golf, and Volkswagens have already been a little extortionate.

It's no wonder the Korean companies are gaining the market share they are, as they're offering products not a lot worse than the big boys for £3k or more less in many cases.

And no, we don't get the Neon any more and haven't for ages. The last ones we got were in 2003. Chrysler don't sell anything smaller than the Sebring in the UK now. Well, I don't even think they actually sell the Sebring either. I think I've seen about one on the road, ever.

Zipties on a cracked body kit: the new rusty hood... which was the new flat black... which was the new lambo doors...

550bhp elise weighs in at around 760kg

When I was back in England earlier in the year I went to a track day at Castle Combe (my local circuit) and there was a yellow Elise that just obliterated everything else on the track. In the last race he started from the back of the grid with a 1 minute (I think) handicap and still won the race by miles. I wonder is it the same car with an updated livery?

At least with the zipties, you aren't spending time to ruin something, as you are with sanding down a hood and mixing the proper ingredients to make it "rust" properly, and rather somewhat repairing something that isn't worth fixing/is going to get destroyed and replaced in a few more events anyway. Not to mention the "stiched" look you end up with is kind of poking fun at the damage the same way the massive Band-Aid stickers do.

It seems to me that you dislike drifting so you attempt to find "stupid" things about it to lump it in with the posuers/ricers/slammed cars.
