Actually called the HSV-010. Was going to be the NSX replacement for the road before the world crashed, now just a racecar.

I can bet that they'll take what they learn from the racer and put something like it on the road when things look up again. I'll also bet that Honda's cautiously watching how the "Confusingly Expensive" (as Top Gear puts it) Lexus LF-A does.

I should try to find the pictures of that car through all its stages... Quite the evolution.

I think it looks terrible on an STi. Those cars don't look good with scrawny stretched rubber bands. Imo, STis and Evos only look proper with as much tire stuffed under there as possible.

Is that the car that was yellow with bronze TE37s at last July's IA, then got sold?

Yeah, I'm just not digging the whole slammed with massive rear camber look. Bet the car handles like crap too.

If you run a set up like that, handling isn't exactly a concern.
I'm not picking you out, but everyone needs to realize that these cars with big wheels, off sets, and low ride heights aren't going to the track. There are some exceptions to this because some people actually drive their cars hard with a set up like that. This brings up the hard parker thing now. There is no rule book saying that if you buy an S2000 or any car like that you have to take it to the track and only do mods that make it faster. People buy cars because they like them, whether it's because of the looks or the fact that it can go fast, then they proceed to mod them in the way that they find interesting. A while back someone posted a black audi a4 with really wide tires, air bags, and a bolt in roll cage. We all know that a bolt in roll cage is not very effect when it comes to safety or rigidity. But it looks cool and some people will consider it an accessory. Every person that buys a high performance car doesn't have the track in mind, they just want a car that looks cool and go quick between stop lights. [/Rant]

Yes they are. Ever seen a drift event?

I just came here to post this pic, but it is now related to this discussion.

I understand the whole drift thing. After reading what wrote I realized that it wasn't very clear. I didn't mean it to say that having that kind of wheel set up automatically means it will never see track time, because that isn't true. Especially with drift cars like you just said. I guess I should have just said that track racing isn't always everyone's number one priority when tuning their car.
And now here is a picture.

Man, I can't wait to get the rockers closer to the ground so I stop driving fast around the back roads here, haha. On cages, hate having rear passengers (apart from when they're girls and flash tits at ricey cars) because the car rubs so I could always take out the rear seats and throw in a black bolt-in cage.. ;)

That was just a nice picture, not neccessarily one that had everything discussed. I'm sure you've seen drift cars before.

I see one everyday. You mentioned drifting and showed that car, but to me it looks weird due to lack of negative rear camber.

Must....buy....EK9 body work for my car. Over $1,000 US for the panels though, then I have to have them painted. Time to start saving...

if only they all would be that nice..

I know... I mean I've seen some nicely modified ones, but I'm a bit of a sucker for originality when it's something as purpose-built as a Type R is. Some of the ones I've seen pictures of look good, but are tantamount to ruining the car given it's original purpose - dropping the suspension, giving it glitzy wheels...

I'm tempted to hunt around for one in a few years. People are importing them into the UK all the time.

I'd look a little more carefully that that. Aerokit's different, wheels might be, too, and i spy, with my little eye, a diffuser...

TRD/OEM aero kit you could get a dealerships just about everywhere else in the world, wheels are the OEM stagger 15" and 16". I did miss the diffuser and the cage, and possibly springs but likely TRD ones as well.

But for the most part, it is basically later model year you could have bought on a dealer lot.

Not sure if you saw the post I made after saying all that, but my original post wasn't really clear. I'm not hating on lowered cars and just because a car is low doesn't automatically mean it will never be driven hard. I'm just tired of people complaining about how a car's handling gets ruined when it gets slammed and stretched. Personally, I love the whole look. Especially your car, I'm pretty sure I've seen it on wheel-whores. I think it's sick. And if I had the money I would lower my car and stick some 8.5" wide RS's all around, but I unfortunately don't have the funds for it 👎. I'm just gonna stop now, sorry if i sounded like a douche.
And now for something completely different, which I posted in a different thread.
