The best things to come from the RX-8 were the RENESIS and the factory wheels. The former to swap into SA/FBs and leave NA and the latter to bolt onto 6s.

I've honestly yet to see an RX-8 modified in a way that I like. I don't mind stock, just there's not much to really do and when you try to it gets botched.

The Renesis makes great power but honestly it's a terrible engine just for the fact that they flood so easily. It makes owning one very inconvenient at times. The dealership gets numerous ones in every week that need cleared, 6 years after they came out.

*fingers crossed that every pic shows as it should without hotlinking image messages* :nervous:

If you're interested in what really goes in to creating a 1,000bhp car and you have the time, the following threads are a really good 'diary' of a Supra that starts out standard back in July 2008, reaches 730bhp relatively quickly, and is currently undergoing the final mods that will take it to >1,000bhp.

The first thread is up to around 730bhp...

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassin...77&mid=102569&nmt=Supra TT single turbo build.

The 2nd thread started just a week ago and is following the quest for 1,000bhp...

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=47&t=841007&mid=102569&nmt=Going for 1000 bhp!

The threads are well written with loads of quality photos and few videos of the car on both the track and drag strip.

As if sticking 1000+whp into an otherwise decent car doesn't make it rubbish.

Or as if sticking 1000+ whp into an otherwise decent Supra doesn't make it rubbish.

And in this case the rest of that Supra is closer to stock than that NSX. Typical supra owner.

I don't think PB was referring to the engine being badly built but rather it hindered the car nearly useless on anywhere but a drag strip with some slicks. Surely the owner does not care, or does not know he should care.

The chassis should always be faster than the engine.

That Supra is going to look so insane when it's done. I do think he went overboard with the Takata green and the rear diffuser though. It looked perfect already after he fitted the front lip. Oh, and that rear spoiler would look so fantastic without the rear wing

Anyone else completely amazed by the stunning quality of the photographer in that interview?

You aren't alone. So many people could learn from those pictures in how to take amazing portrait work. My mind is blown at the DoF usage and contrasts. Just amazing.
