Someone ought to tell him if he's going to have a British numberplate, he should make sure it's the right colour - white goes on the front, yellow on the back. Nice Bora/Jetta though.

That Jetta is pretty much a load of poop, IMO. Reverse stagger and positive camber... I don't mind stretching tires, but that's just ridiculous.

Initializing argumentative algorithms... Analyzing verbiage... Calculating agreement percentages... Averaging results... 20,384% agreed. No argument necessary.

How do you quantify that statement? Especially considering that dynamic aero is pretty much sweeping the unlimited classes at this point, lead by Aeromotions, which is an American company. Granted, they drew inspiration from a Japanese development, but we're talking 1968 F1 here. In the context of today's motorsport environment, and especially in regard to the types of vehicles posted here, it would be absolutely foolish to say America is at all behind the curve.
I wouldn't necessarily say that we're behind the curve in terms of knowledge, skills, and development capacity, but I'll tell you what, you proved like nobody's business that we sure love our sheet aluminum, which is what I said before lol. I'll agree with Cesar that most Americans tend to disregard aerodynamics these days, and I think that may be a side effect of race series turning into spec classes and not allowing any experimentation at all. Slapping a garden lip on the front and a bigass duckbill on the back may work on your car as it does on a NASCAR, but it doesn't work as good as something else that you might have come up with if you were allowed to come up with anything new and exciting. The best solutions aren't always pretty, as is the case with that ridiculous looking tC, often it's pretty stellar, like all the race cars around the world that direct as much air through the body as they do around it.

Btw, that guy with the white Evo has his splitter adjusters attached to a piece of cable, leaving the splitter to hang and bounce around freely. That's no more rigid than the local idiot who used eye-bolts and cable tensioners to hold his up, lol. They need to be rigidly mounted to something.

has anybody in this thread posted pics of an R34, this magazine i got is from Thailand and its called Motor Tracks . Its white and black , HKS down the side. to be specific, its an R34 GTR V Spec2 Nur.. would much appreciate it if anyone has seen any photos could they please tell me, CHEERS !

I'll give you two guesses where I'm looking and it ain't the freaking BMW that's for sure!!

I don't see a BMW anywhere. The right one reminds me of a chick I used to date like, 10 years ago...

"Americans tend to disregard aerodynamics" says to me that you're the one in need of exposure. 👎

All the top American time attack teams put a LOT of work into their aero setups... Mike from Kognition, Andrew Brilliant of AMB Aero, Jared D of Binary Engineering, and all the guys at Aeromotions

A lot of work into developing and designing a single-plane, flat wing and splitter that you can easily get from APR? Oh sorry I missed the flat floor :dunce: Well they at least hired a good web design agent. Your reply was exactly what I thought it would be and it further confirms my judgement. To say that those links you posted were anything beyond grass roots, backyard aero and are up to par or "leading edge" by any stretch of the imagination is silly. How you can compare the work from those companies to the photos I posted before is beyond me. Here let me post it again just in case....

...there's no counting all the grassroots-level aero work going on in garages across the country for small clubs and things like SCCA's solo events.

....

Anyone taking the sport seriously will put effort into their aero packages...

Yeah! like a wing and splitter! Maybe even get serious and go for the elusive diffuser 💡

It's not as if other countries have the upper hand here as you seem to believe. But that's cool, think what you want to think!

In aviation? Maybe not. In motorsports? Certainly yes! While Europe had F1 and it's constant technological advancements, America had stock car racing...The simple fact of the matter is that, in general, motorsports under the FIA governing body in Europe and Japan has far surpassed what is the norm here. This is true since the 60s. It is a simple matter of influence. The most simple and least altered aero of FIA governed series is probably V8 Supercars in Australia, even less than the BTCC/WTCC. I'm not saying that the top Japanese time attack cars are built to fit some kind of FIA regulation but they are very much so influenced. The SCCA in America is based mostly on spec series which offers little improvement in aerodynamics if at all. It is well known that top motorsports technology tends to trickle down to lower series such as F1 to GP2 and to F3 euroseries. Why do you think that most of these time attack cars in the US resemble SCCA top class racecars? And Japanese car resemble the Super GT cars?

SCCA

And now that it's beginning to emerge more and more it is still not as well established and understood as big blocks and super chargers.

Face it, America is nowhere near the level of Europe's and Japan's motorsports technology, that includes aerodynamics. There is no existing top notch motorsports infrastructure to produce anything innovative and competitive at a world level.

Ah, the typical comeback response when posting pictures. Post a bunch of high class aerodynamics testing, & then post a bunch of SCCA cars as if they represent the true effort American companies have made to make their cars more aerodynamic.

I didn't try any harder to find pics for either example.

Please, do post a better example of an SCCA racecar with better aero than the photo I posted after the NASCAR.

This maybe?

I guess if you fire enough times, the odds are that at least one bullet will hit the target.

Can we either shut up about the aero crap or make a new thread?

That looks a lot like Dado's car from the Teckademics crew. I haven't seen it in a long time though, I think it was a couple years ago at a drift battle here in Michigan. Know anything about the car?

And a picture.

Aside from the fact there are two hot chicks next to a Dakar Yellow E36 with the Motorsports aerokit and BBS Style-5's, I have no idea.

Someone who talks about the car instead of the girls, thank you.

Dado was from Virginia wasn't he?

They're not that good looking.

Exactly my thoughts. There's something wrong with the left one's chest, and right one's face isn't exactly what I would call "pretty".

Their shoes bother me a great deal as well. I'd much rather they just vanish so we could all appreciate the Dakar Yellow that much more.

Since, you know, it is God's Chariot and all.

Speaking of God's chariot, why doesn't yours look like that yet?

Ah, the typical comeback response when posting pictures. Post a bunch of high class aerodynamics testing cars built by shops in Japan, & then post a bunch of SCCA cars cars built by shops in the US as if they represent the true effort American companies have made to make their cars more aerodynamic.

Fixed.

Last I checked, we were talking about a generalization here, not the absolute top of the line from either side of the world.

But hey, it's easy to tell someone they're wrong and not provide the slightest bit of information saying otherwise.

EDIT: Anyway, contributing:

They look more like Scandinavian mail-order brides, to me. :ill:👎

lolwut?

Have you even been in any Scandinavian country? Pay us visit here where I live and I will assure you, you won't use that smiley again :P

Also, epic Skyline. I have a thing for white stuff written on tire sidewalls.
