Lol if anyone wants a wacky S2000... (Not sure if it fits the rules, I'm not advertising for my benefit, but if it doesn't I can take it down)

Georg Plasa's Judd powered 135i hill climber is nearly complete. The attention to detail and level of craftsmanship on this car are really unparralled (at least for anything other than an absolute TOP level race team). Look at the custom tubular control arms w/KW active dampened coilovers as well as the beautiful magnesium uprights and the ultra light weight ceramic brake rotors. The engine bay is also a thing of beauty when you look at all of the details (like suspension pick up points, slanted radiator, and architecture of the tubing to increase stiffness.) The aerodynamics (it also has a double deck diffuser) on this car will also be wind tunnel tested to verify and tune the performance.

When completed the car will only weight 780kg or ~ 1700lbs :scared: Can't wait to see what this thing can do. His old E36 320 was impressive enough - this new 135 takes things to an entirely new level

You can follow his build here: http://www.134judd.com/fahrzeug.html

Awsome car, the suspension looks particularly interesting, I haven't seen struts with those smaller springs above the main coil springs before.

Do you know what they do ?

They're just helper springs. Also, it's an inverted monotube setup so the helper spring would have to be on top.

Awesome build BTW. That is truly to FIA touring car standard 👍

They're just helper springs.
And by "just helper springs", he means that those thin, soft springs are meant only to keep the main spring seated while the suspension is at full droop. Those main springs look extremely stiff, and so don't have very much travel. The damper has much more travel in relation, so at full droop there ends up being a big wobbly gap that the helper spring fills. It's so soft that it doesn't effect the spring rate at all - it's compressed fully while the car is sitting on the ground.

That Veilside R32 GTR is pure porn. Love it. The Z convertible a bit further up has a license plate from the town where I used to live in Japan - don't remember ever seeing the car though.

I would be frightened to turn the wheel in that Bug, instant death would await.

Beetle:

That is awesome in its own right. Although I can't tell what kind of engine it is (The manifold resembles a Honda B-series one.) But I think the real question is what kind of transmission they're using as it looks like the engine comes close to blocking the axle line.

S2000.
Definitely not the real one.

That 135i is amazing... and waaaaay beyond anything the WTCC boys are doing. A fabulous piece of engineering 👍

780kg, eh? Then again, it's made out of scaffolding.. I still do approve that, considering that the base car weighs in at 1500kg+.. And that R32.. I want that in my life. NOW.

I think this R32 looks great too, but what is up with these dials?!?!? Big NO NO imo, especially in comparison to the rest of this beauty... Or was this back when the likes of Comic Sans was cool?

Commercial Script ;)

It's indeed a B-Series, and I was wondering exactly the same thing, possibly with a V-Drive or something similar in function. Or maybe an adapter that bolts into a VW/Porsche gearbox. I've been looking on google, can't find anything. They're most likely using a dry sump system too, with the height at which the engine is sitting, and the angle it's in, I doubt it's using the stock Honda oilpan.

Found another one, but with a K20 instead.

I dunno, up close the FIA-spec cars are pretty impressive. The only thing that 135i has over the WTCC cars is a comparative lack of regulations! I'm sure WTCC teams would happily build absolute monsters if they were allowed!

Thanks, that makes perfect sense 👍

That looks like an Amuse S2000 GT1..... Is it a real one? Like this?

In case you didn't see the Craigslist ad, the seller stated that the body kit was actually a replica of the Amuse kit.

The gauges are actually Veilside gauges. They're pretty expensive pieces.

I'm one of the few that absolutely loves the Mugen Gen1 rear spoiler for the DC. Never ceases to amaze me how the cars that come out of Ontario (along with BC and Alberta) are so badass.

I've got a local buddy who's rocking one currently on his DC2. BG-33P Teal is a great color to have that wing in, as well.
