I'll not quote pics otherwise this post'll get too big, but a few comments on the above:

Williams FW14/16 - Agree with you SJ. With the 16 I was about to comment on how one of the tragedies of that car will be that it's remembered as being the car Senna was killed in, rather than being remembered, as you point out with the FW14, as being one of the most beautiful modern-era F1 cars. The FW14, 15 and 16 were all very similar designs, and it was clearly a great design - as proven by how little it changed from 1992 to 1994. I also find Schumacher's 1994 B194 Benetton one of the most beautiful modern-era F1 cars. Seem to remember the 1994 Ferrari was a bit of a corker too.

The C-Class DTM - Never realised until I read a recent article on the car just how advanced those were - far more so than even F1 cars of the era. Active suspension, active aerodynamics, computer-controlled everything. Apparently, the aerodynamics were so advanced that they changed for every corner. However, due to the early limitations of computing, they changed by distance, rather than location on the circuit. This was great if you were driving lap after lap, but apparently a nightmare if you went off or spun, because the extra distance you covered confused the settings, so you could suddenly find yourself without downforce for the next corner... or have it give you a load of drag in the middle of a straight as the distance registered tells the car it's in a corner... Mercedes also apparently wanted active ballast, but couldn't get it to work.

The 370Zs and 240Z: Depressing how large and brutish modern cars have got...

Yeah, like you said, FW14-16 looked very similar. I pointed out the fW14 in specific, as I prefer the slightly flatter (parallel to the ground) nose silhouette. Also, the FW14 represented a very unique time in F1 with all the technologies such as launch control and active suspension yet, from the outside they still looked very "90s" with a somewhat "raw" hue. these cars also represented some of the ending looks of both the low noses and the wider, more visually proportional dimensions.
To be honest, I was never a big fan of the first raised nosed in 94, visually. Mainly because of how bottom half, when viewed from the side, curved down from the tip as it flowed to the back. Kind of like Champ Cars/CART.
I feel the same way about the ferrari, I mean how could you put this second? :sly:

And yeah, I had always read how the budgets for some of the DTM/ITC teams were up there with F1 even though the claims were always denied. I'm sure you remember the front transmission/trans-axle assembly I posted some time ago of the Calibra. Still the only photo I have found of it.
I never knew the Mercedes was that advanced! Or that it featured any of those technologies for that matter. The more you know

Modern cars. Every day I find myself turning more and more into a "muscle car guy" that hates modern cars. Except in my case, and surely the case of many other car guys in this generation, the reasons are different than muscle car guys.

You know, 2 weeks ago or so, the management of the nür got basiclly fired for beeing bad business man.
Listen to an interview with them and you will instantly know why (****heads).
So the article is pin point right, they invested millions in a theme park nobody visits and negligated therefor their main income source, the ring.

Glad those two are out.

Dem Porsches. Dose Futuras. Dat manifold!

That Z32 is sick btw. Probably the best I've seen yet.

EDIT:

"This was taken at the dyno yesterday.
The TWM throttles are a straight-shot right to the back of the valves.
You can see the intake port, valves, fuel, and at the higher RPMS, with the valves opening and closing faster, the spark plug's glow.
The run goes from ~2000-8500 RPM's.
Shot in 720P HD with an Aiptek camcorder @60fps. Watch it full-screen if you can.
Next time I'm going to shoot a timing light in there, to try and freeze the action a bit more.

TWM throttles.
