I've never seen the Impreza as a "boy racer," same goes to the Skyline and Lancer. These are just some of Japan's best sports cars made to be driven by enthusiasts who love to have "fun to drive" as the first words to describe the car.
Maybe it's just me, but does anyone believe that the front of the Impreza looks pretty reminiscent of the Infiniti G35? Just take away that little front part with the front grill. It kind of reminds me of the Infiniti G35 up front. I've never really been fond of tall headlights. I think they've looked much better on racing prototypes than road cars. They look better on the Toyota GT-One, the Bentley EXP GT, the Cadillac Northstar LMP, but not with most road cars.
One of the first things I really talk about before anything is most likely about style, and I think this one is going to fall short of it up front. You know, it's not going to be like what could be the next Camaro, but it seems like a lot of people won't like it style wise. Maybe if I could picture it as a more aggressive-looking Peugeot 307, then this would be a better-looking car. Until then, Subaru may start losing customers.
