the problem I have with running it on saturday is we would have to run it later thus leading to over lap with ITCC,

I keep falling a sleep for them, I do try attend but now with ACDST its an hour later, and being a sunday morning it tends to take its toll,

I'm free any time Saturday or Sunday of that weekend. Dave, you might want to change the title again.

if minimum 7 people can make it we will run it,

3,peelster,
4,
5,
6,
7,

its Friday my time, who can still make the event this Sunday?

3PM GMT this Sunday works great for me. If you just to change the time to allow more people to come, that's fine with my schedule. Let us know if you plan to change the time ASAP please. I'm in a racing league right now. I think I might be able to get some of them to race in this race, but I need to be able to give them a solid time.

How about an optional practice for an hour, a quali session for an hour, and then the Wheldon tribute/green flag?

the Weldon tribute is being scrapped, to many laps to this stuff, people will get bored and wreck,

we can have the room open at 3PM race start at 4PM?

I'm fine with that and an optional practice at 2PM. Dave, please update the OP. It is extremely outdated and a lot of information is inaccurate now. I'm directing some friends to this page and want them to have accurate information without having to read the entire thread.

ok bud, but for north America the open practice should start at 3PM GMT, Qualifying at 4PM and the race at 5PM, sound good?

Mate, that's 10 A.M. For open practice, in my timezone. I think using "North America" and "GMT" will confuse people.

Other than that, the 12 o'clock start time is genius.

I like it. Here's a timetable for those in North America who don't want to have to do the GMT math.

WELCOME TO THE INDY 500,
indianapolis-motor-speedway_zps23743786.jpg

This will be exactly what the title says,

INDY 500, At Indianapolis Motor Speed Way,

FGT cars only, MAX BHP, MINIMUM WEIGHT, NO PP LIMIT,
Maximum ABS allowed is 1.
200 laps. We will turn around and group up on the back straight for a pace car rolling start.
Comfort Hard tires Required.
Damage set to weak.
Slipstream strength set to weak.
All driving aids will be off, don't ask for any to be on, as hearing the word NO offends people.
There will be a Safety Car.
fgt_zps20e3e784.jpg

Once I have a full field of sign ups qualifying will take place during the week leading up to the event, like speed weeks,

Qualifying,
will be 1 warm up lap followed by 4 hot laps, and the qualifying order will be set by your total time of your 4 hot laps.
You will require comfort Hard tires.
You get 1 attempt to qualify. You may reattempt if a connection issue cancels your original attempt.

The race,

The room will be set to 200 laps,
When the race starts all cars will slow and form up in their respected qualifying position 3 wide staggered between the starting bricks and turn 2,
As shown below,
indi-500-start-2011_zps743eaa68.jpg

We will turn around at the start and group up in qualifying order on the back straight.
The Safety Car will lead the start at 90MPH/145KPH.
At the exit of turn 4 the Safety Car will merge off the track and tour pit lane,
Once the Pole position holder has passed completely by the start of the pit wall it is up to them to control the field, once he accelerates the race is on.

Safety car,

Yes I have stolen this idea and modified it.
A safety car can be called if there is an incident involving 2 or more cars,
The drivers affected will type "SC" or "safety car" in the text box, then the person operating the safety car will type "SC IS OUT". The field will be frozen from the moment "SC IS OUT" appears in the in-game chat box.
The safety car will then exit the pits and group up with the field between turns 1 and 2.
You are allowed to complete that racing lap at race speed, once across the start stripe you must slow down to 63MPH/100KPH to assume position behind the Safety Car, If someone overtakes you after start stripe please state it in the text box, using acronym's, e.g. P2 P3, It will be understood as the car in position 2 overtook position 3 illegally and must return to their rightful place,
Once all cars on the lead lap without damage are restrained by the safety car all people a lap down will be released to gain their lap back.
The whole field will slow behind the safety car, the damaged cars can pit but for the rest of the field the pits are closed until the restart, when the restart lap comes around the pits are open, damaged cars will have to tour through pit lane again and replace tires as they would have had the tires replaced when the damage was getting fixed.
This idea is designed to take no longer then 2 laps total.

Also, the safety car is here to add to the realism, please do not depend on the safety car to be your saving grace, as dirty driving will be frowned upon and enough of it will get you black listed from any further event's that myself, or W.M.A president's/ chairman/ seat holder's chose to run in the future, also If we happen to cross paths again in another patron's series, they to will be notified of your driving ethic!

To sign up just leave your GT planet ID followed by your PSN ID,

So please sign up or express your interest, or have your say,👍

RACE DATE IS 16TH OF DECEMBER, OPTIONAL PRACTICE IS AT 10AM, QUALIFYING IS AT 11AM, RACE IS AT NOON. TIMES ARE EST USA. (3PM, 4PM & 5PM GMT TIMES)

PEELSTER'S IDEA FOR THE SAFETY CAR FOR UNEXPECTED DISCONNECTION'S!
I have a procedure in place for my proposed NASCAR with Caution series. Feel free to use it and change "K." to 60 laps.

Another thing you could do is to only call a Disconnect Caution if multiple drivers are disconnected at once. In which case, you would implement "M." if a driver(s) was disconnected by his/herself earlier in the race. Personally, I would recommend using a Disconnect Caution for a first time disconnect by only one driver, as it shouldn't take too long for everyone to bail and come back. (I've never used it though, so you might want to take a poll on this as some people wouldn't want to bail and others don't think it as big of a deal. One thing is certain, getting a DNF for a race because of a disconnect is terrible!) The following is the Disconnect Caution procedure from my V.1.1 NASCAR rulebook.

When a driver has a network disconnect and is forced out from the lounge of an event race, a “Disconnect Caution” will be waved. NAT Type 1 or 2 are required to race, NAT Type 3 is prohibited.

A. Disconnect Cautions resemble mechanical issues/failures, this MUST be the said driver’s first network disconnect of the race.

B. The standing Official will call for the Caution when noted that the qualifying driver has left the room.

C. All drivers will gradually come to a STOP on the track so that the Official’s can take a tally and placement of current drivers for the restart. DO NOT LEAVE UNTIL TOLD.

D. All drivers will exit the lounge so the host can reset the room.

E. Once the room has been reset all qualified drivers may re-enter the room for competition. (It helps if the host is on everyone's Friends List.)

F. The host will set laps to remaining amount plus one for a Pace Lap reset of the field. (Additional Pace Laps may be needed if there are lapped cars.)

G. The disconnected driver will restart at the rear of the field on the Pace Lap.

H. If there are lapped cars, the lapped cars will pull over to the side of the track on the backstretch and will rejoin the lead lap cars when they are the correct amount of laps down. The field will remain under Caution until all cars are the laps down they should be before the disconnection occurred.

I. The Lucky Dog (if put on the lead lap) will circle the field with the lead lap cars, otherwise they will pull over with the rest of the lapped cars and have 1 lap subtracted from the number of laps they are down.

J. Standard restart procedure will be followed on the final Pace Lap.

K. Disconnect Cautions will not occur past 25 laps into the race.

L. If a driver is disconnected a second time, a second Disconnect Caution WILL NOT be granted, the driver will record a DNF, and may remain in the lounge area.

M. Re-entry after 2nd disconnect drivers and lapped down drivers – Drivers will be able to re-enter a race if they are disconnected a second time. When the driver re-enters the room they will not be awarded a Disconnect Caution and the room will not be reset. However, if another Disconnect Caution is called later in the race, and the field is reset along with the room, that driver will be granted re-entry to the race. It is as if their car was taken behind the wall for repairs. 2nd re-entry drivers will restart the race 5 laps down in relation to the last place car. (Unless they were less than 5 laps down in relation to the last place car, in which case they will be the number of laps down that they actually were.) Lapped drivers will pull off to a designated spot and wait for lead lap drivers to pass them additional times until they are the correct number of laps down. (Help from Officials will be available if necessary.)

Also, If the race finishes under safety car, I'm thinking of having a Green/White/Checkered, as like NASCAR the race wont be restarted after the final lap has been start,
any questions on this should be asked on the thread as others may have the same questions as you, and please don't feel stupid for asking.

Ok, I just wanted to get that in there so I could have an updated post available before I sent the thread link to my friends. By the way, are we going to be doing Green/White/Checkered? Also, for Disconnection Cautions, will it be after more than one person has been disconnected or will we do it for just one person? What lap is the last lap that a Disconnection Caution will be allowed?

1 person inside the first 10 laps, must be multiple outside of that,

push come shove and we have to do a green/ white/ checkered fininsh then yes, but I would rather avoid it,

When will disconnect cautions no longer occur? With 60 to go? No more multiple person disconnect after 25 laps into the race? You've said both at one point or another.
