I've been doing some practice runs and I have a basic speed, but I would love to run some short practice races sometime.
I don't have a clue how to set the gearing up for the draft for example. So maybe it's an idea to have a few short races to get ready for quali and get to know each others driving style.

What are your thought?

I'd like some draft practice with the other racers too. I've never run an Indy 500 endurance before. I'm looking forward to it.

I've never gone the full distance, longest is 30 laps, I always find rooms to join for open practice, usually a room being run by tigerpride123 or codboy are very clean, if you wite in the text box that your a green horn they are very open to helping you out, actually a very good bunch of guys,

I'm good for Saturday & Sunday. Send me a friend request and keep me posted if we're doing a practice. (You won't need me unless you plan on doing some pace car starts for some practice races though.) Just let me know what's up.

Much practice goes down for this after our spot race tomorrow. Can't wait for this one!

I'm keen for that, if the other inferior half allows me:lol:

So I opened up a room as I found no room running:

Indy 500 FGT CH-tyre
1472-6681-3329-8084-8183

EDIT 1: Room is closed.

Very interesting results even though the practice was run alone all night. I have a quali time now and a theoretical race setup. No idea where I stand in terms if pace.

Another thing worth adressing is the white inside line. As I drive with a DS3. I found it hard not to cross it during a corner lap after lap. I assume the white line is off limits, but how do you regulate it?

As for my time: 38.xxx

EDIT 2:

I never have raced at Indy with Comfort Hards. Though I must say, the car definitely feels like an Indycar now.

With racing tires, if you exited a turn too early, you could recover quickly and still maintain your top speed. After doing twenty practice laps with comforts, I quickly realized you can't do that lol.

Is the minimum weight for the FGT 550KG? If it isn't, how do you lower it?

Minimum weight is 550KG I think I'm not 100% sure,

the comfort hards still have too much grip, but it does make things more interesting, and when you get the lap right its worth more then .500 of a second faster then the racing tires,

that's around the time you want to aim for mate, low 37s

This is going to be my 1st oval track race, and using FGT's just makes it that more exciting!

I have found oval racing the hardest/ easiest racing to do, when your in a new room with new people, and don't wan't to create enemies or ruin it for anyone, so running fast and clean and trying keep in position to win is so damn difficult, but when your comfortable with the fella's your banging wheels with then 3-4 wide turns aren't uncommon, the last oval race I did at INDY was 25 laps with a room of online friends, (kickindirt is racing with us) I went from first to last to third to fourteenth back to first etc, straight after straight after straight, so much fun, 200 laps of that is going to play on the mind and body, the circuit itself is easy to navigate, but when your 3 wide in a bunch its not so easy,

My best lap time is now about 38.5xx (low fuel 38.3) so what kind of setup you have to get low 37?

Not really helping with setup...i doing online practice so are these low 37s online or offline times?

Here is my setup now:
RH: -3 0
Spring: 20.0 20.0
Damp.ext: 10 10
Damp.comp: 10 10
Anti roll:6 5
Camber: 3.0 2.5
Toe: +0.05 +0.25
LSD: 8/10/20
Downforce: 40 55
BB: 5/5

running consistent 37.349 - 37.840 in pursuit mode I'm getting 37 laps of fuel, in cruiser mode I think I could get up to 50, cruiser mode lap times are 38.1s these times are online,

try adding some ride height jammy, your car could be bottoming out in the turns, thus slowing you down,

Thanks Dave. I had also 37 lap before running out of fuel.

I guess ill start getting my 1st practice session done right after your 300km GT300 event TDZ.

I'm about to run a test. I'll see what kind of laps I can get. Probably going to make drastic setup changes on my Formula GT because of the update. I'll post a lap as soon as I can. I'll be in my lounge, so anyone on my friends list can join.

Is the lost grip in corners set to low or real?

And also, how about a fun 50 lapper at 9ET tommorow?

grip set to real, tire and fuel wear set to normal,

I won't be able to do it tomorrow, got some things to do, but if there is sufficient interest then by all means do so,
