How about I adjust the transmission to allow an extra 5 mph for drafting on road courses? There are some long straights where you could pick up a lot of speed from drafting (such as Les Combes at Spa, or from the last corner of High Speed Ring all the way to the first braking point).
I decreased the BHP at Daytona so that we were doing about 10mph less (safer speeds=less accidents). Do you want us back to 210/211 mph solo (650 BHP), or a different solo speed?
I think open transmission settings should be used for road courses. It will allow people to customize the gears how the want them and also not shy people away thinking that it's too much work. I agree with the drafting statement for ovals and think we need to keep regulated transmission settings at Indy and Daytona, but for road courses it would provide for more passing opportunities and better racing IMHO.
As for Daytona, I think 650 hp should still be used. Part of what makes IndyCar so exciting on the ovals is the speed. When we're doing 230 at Indy 210 at Daytona should be easy as long as people respect the "lanes" at Daytona.
Also, I think TCS should be turned off for ovals. You don't really need it, and if someone misses the setup TCS is going to keep the car pointing straight.
