How many laps at GVS?

34.

I've found my setup for Grand Valley already, I just need to fully tweak it to get the best out of it. My best so far is 0:00.049 slower than Kyaw's best time ;)

What time did you both get?

Kyaw got a 1:44.389 and I got a 1:44.438. Although I can only seem to match Kyaw's last sector. I keep going quicker through the first half of the lap but I lose it all towards the end.

More than likely going to be practicing every day this week. I need to pull absolutely everything possible out of the bag for this weekend. Thankfully next week I'll have Thursday & Friday off, so I can spend 48 hours solidly driving Nurburging GP.

looks like3 i missed an epic race on a track i love :(

Hell yes you did. Stop going to birthday parties, you were 4th in the tables before Nurburgring :(

There is another GT500 league very similar to ours that runs on the NeoGAF forum, I sent one of their organisers a PM a while ago regarding us somehow collaborating our leagues so that we could actually hit 16-players, since we were both having that problem. I'm curious as to what everyone thinks about this? Personally I'd love to have a full grid of 16-players that can race cleanly and that turn up each week.

Once this season ends, the plan was to spend 2-3 race weekends as 'fun races' if you will. Although those 2-3 weeks actually gives us a chance to test out any collaboration plans in advance. I just want to get some opinions on this.

I actually don't think space will be an issue. We have around 10, maybe 11 people that turn up every weekend possible and theirs is roughly the same. We'll have to see once we gauge interest though.

This is their league.

EDIT: I just realised that we're one of the largest championships on GTP at the moment :sly: Or at least we have one of the largest threads!

Slight bump.

Just an FYI, our last race at the Nurburgring GP/F coincides with the official F1 race at the same track :)

Notting agianst it, if nobody has to be removed, or to many rules get changed. Also i hope the races will be atleast held around the same time. Saturdays is actual my only free raceday.

I actually tried alot of championships. But this league is the only league were they have serious drivers/good rules/and held on a good day/tim. Its difficult to find all three things in one championship.

yesterday i tried to start in a other league. At Qually i had still to set a time, whit 10 minutes to go. But then there are some idiots whit park there cars on the driving line :ouch: so i could not put on a decent time. on the last place the start went well, i won 4 places but then got hit by 2 cars. i had damage(heavy) and i needed to pit on lap2. at the end of the race i got -5 point becaus i caused a collison. they hitted me, lol.:dopey:

Looks fine to me with the other league, we have nothing to lose...
We can try it. Even when we start with 22 player we will end with aprrox. 10-12 :)
We just have to see the regulations...

hey to be fair I was going to be at nurburgring until my ps3 YLOD'ed on me 2 hours before the race...

and yer im most likely going to have to bail on the last race as well.

Moving into my own place on the 23rd :) and am going to have to christen it properly with a banging moving in party while there will be bugger all furniture to ruin.

Also would you seriously bail on a close mates 21st party to race online on gt5? year of 21st birthdays so im screwed on that one. If we held next seasons race's on a weekday evening and not a saturday I would be able to make every race and not just the majority. Just throwing it out there.

I won't be able to race on the 23rd either. :( It's one of my cousins birthday again and we're all going out that night for his 21st.

Any chance of skipping a week or adding an extra race the the calendar?

Of course not, I was only joking :P

I'm not going to drop anyone, so don't worry :)

I just had a look at the neogaf league and I'm not so sure about it. They have a bit of a dodgey start time at 11pm GMT.

How can it be the same, they have other rules...Like TC, Add weight on podium, point system, and other things...

That's their proposed setup for their original season 2. Their first season was pretty much the same rules as ours, except they used heavy damage & rolling starts. Remember we're only proposing "rules" now. I'm against all assists other than ABS (Even I don't use driving line now) for season 2, and I actually really dislike rolling starts.

They usually start at around the same time we do, give or take.

Remember that it's only a proposal & test. If it doesn't work out, then it doesn't work out and we go onto season 2 as we would normally do so.

I'm also open to track suggestions for season 2. At the moment I'd like to replace Laguna seca with Indy Road, replace SSR5 with Madrid, and possibly replace Tokyo with Rome/CapeRing/Something. Laguna Seca & SSR5 definitely need to go since they're so imbalanced between the GT-R's and NSX's. Grand Valley is yet to be evaluated, but I have a strong feeling it will be a track that provides :)

I'd also like to ban the Lexus for next season considering all the ambiguity we've have surrounding the Lexus this season, from the pre-seasons to mid-season we've had controversy regarding the Lexus. So I figure it would be best to just remove it from the car pool. I'd also like to keep the two of the same car maximum rule.

I agree with GP_CiaN, we have nothing to loose and it's worth a try.
I'm curious on how it works out in your head though. How will we try to make this work as best as possible. There are some challenges I guess, but I'm all for it. Open to almost everything :)

around the same time for me isn't good enough, today when we are done with a race my time has passed into Sunday, yes most evenings by just a few minutes, but when we race endurance races it's half past midnight, I have no problem with that, but one hour or maybe even 2 later makes it nothing I would like.
Remember that it's only a proposal & test. If it doesn't work out, then it doesn't work out and we go onto season 2 as we would normally do so.

I think most of us would like this to work, but I think if you post more on how you plan to make this work more of us would understand this better. I still haven't understand it all, is it a merge or what. Do we have to change forum? Or is it more like if I have time I join their race to fill up their grid and the other way around?

Like I said in PM I suggest Deep Forrest/reverse and I want the reverse because it then have a few challenges. Easy to overcome, but still a fun track. Also In real life all tracks have their center to the right of the car, except for Nascar.. and we aren't driving Nascar luckily 👍

I think Rome is a bit boring really, it's mostly 4 straights with some simple turns, but if it's in, I do my best :)

Cape Ring is ok if it's not any version with the jump.. or should I call it space ramp

I think the Lexus should stay, but keep it stock. then people can avoid picking it or if someone want it because of it's handling, he have to work around it being slower than the other cars

You're jumping too far ahead.

I haven't said anything about changing the time of the races, the races are always held at the same time, it's really the only time all of us can manage to get online at the same time. We wont be changing forum either, we'll use both GTP & GAF, totally down to you which one you use.

It's a collaboration we'd like to try, not a merger. We haven't even started planning yet, I was just gauging interest from you guys.

We wont be jumping straight in head-first, we'll spend a couple of weeks doing 'practice' races to see how things go.

yeah, i don't like rolling starts either. The gridstart is the best moment of the race :sly: assist off (apart for some ABS) is OK.

about the tracks its more about personal taste. what i don't like to see is racing on custom-tracks. For what its worht i like to see:
1. Suzuka, 2. Lemans, 3. Trial Mountain, 4. Deep Forest, 5. Monaco, 6. SSR5, 7. 24Hnur, 8.Fuji, 9. Madrid, 10. Indianapolis/laguna
Could there be for any chance a longer Championship.? 12 or 14 tracks. Then everybody will have there favorite track in it. or is it to long?

I am pro for teams, but only if they drive in the same car...

What i also like to see in the future are some stewards...?

I thought about some arguments for next season:

-1 obliged pitstop min.5 laps on hard tyres
-limit 580hp and turbo's allowed
- Or keep everything stock and everybody on GTR's :), yeah the lexus stock off course. If everybody is on gtr's and we have 20 players, we have 5 teams of 4 players
-The nismoz needs some ballast, if stays stock. With the torque it's min. 0,5s faster

I don't want people to be limited in teams by having to drive the same car, but that's just me.

I was already 100% going to implement stewards into season 2, but I need to see whether this collaboration goes through or not.

Shall we just rename the series to DWS? :sly:

I don't really know about allowing turbo's and such, people here seem to be against it, and I think I actually prefer the cars without stage 3, but hey. I guess we can test it out in the pre-season, just means me writing down my setups was pointless :P

F1-style?

But i like the "stock" rule.

I love the cars being stock, but GP does have a point. All of the cars are from different years, the only way to make all the cars balanced is by slapping engine stage 3 and such on them. I guess in the end it'll come down to a vote.

is there no diffrence when all cars uses the turbo stage 3?

Are you serious? You've already PM'ed just about everyone on the board and now you're trying to steal people from other threads?

You're not making a good name for your championship by advertising in other people's threads.

is there no diffrence when all cars uses the turbo stage 3?

According to Roy & GP.

I would be interested in doing the last round, but it is depending on date and whether you are able to take me. As I would like to join next season.

I personally like to keep the cars stock.

The GTR and the NSX aren't that different in terms of performance/tyre wear. Only on a few tracks, one is outright faster than the other. Even then the quickness depends on the driver skill.

I don't like Deep Forest or Trial Mountain... (maybe i like one of them, i can't remember)

I don't mind having to do a certain amount of laps on harder tyres either.

Yeah keep the cars stock, like kyaw said there isn't much difference in terms of performance except for the odd 1 or 2 tracks and I'm also up for making it mandatory to use soft and hard tyres. :)

Oh and keep laguna (I like that track) and just get rid of SSR5 and Tokyo. ;)

I'm planning on getting rid of it next season so that will most likely be the end of it. The only time I've really felt a serious advantage was SSR5, when it still chewed through the tyres and I thought it was a track I was good at, not all the car.

BTW Cape Ring full for next season.

Definitely going to look at Cape Ring, but I doubt we'll do the full one :P

I'd rather replace Laguna Seca with something else just so we can change up the calendar more, have less of a repeat calendar from season 1. Also not forgetting the GT-R's had an advantage over the NSX's at Laguna Seca too.
