Intercontinental GT500 Championship Season Two - Finished

9th, I am happy whit that. whitout my mistake at the beginning i could be 7th. nevertheless i did better then expected my tyres were super. the only thing i have to work on is when its getting exciting i start making mistakes. I think i could end before Zzxxz 5 times this season. and i never ended before him. I just make to many (stupid) mistakes.



What happend at the start: i did started great like always and wanted to pass to many cars. Bassically i wanted to pass a blue car on the right, he moved to left and we touched a little, i got into the grass and i totally lost the car. Lucky i did not hit anybody. I am gonna watch the replay.

Great race .

Had a racing incident with ProPersian on lap 4 or 5 and that totally screwed up my race , Persian you could of gave me some more room there mate .I had a decent recovery , pitting early on lap 8 helped me to get back into the race .

I have one question I would like to ask .
If your using hard tires at the end of the race , what lap would you have to pit for hards ?
this is the strategy I used and I pit at the end of lap 27 , is this correct ?
The reason I ask is Arno and Immortal pitted end of lap 28 , what would be the penalty for not running the required 6 laps on the hard tire .

Stewards a little help here ?

we did?? i'm sorry i seriously didnt think about it.. if i did i'm sorry didnt meant to hit u m8.. immortal did a good race again.. i was surprized how i couldnt catch up on him when i had racing soft ( new sets ) also in the end it was really weird.. but congrats to immortal & sry to skeng if i hit u..

To me, he indeed could stay on the right, But its a tricky corner, specially when two cars are side by side. trust me i know :D I did something similar whit zzxxz today at the end of the race whitout knowing, and at the start i got the push.


and immortal did indeed only 5 laps on hard. Its sometimes confusing when to pit for hards. It almost happent to me to this season. I am wondering if this has not be happent more this season...

If they pitted a lap too early, they will be penalised duly.

For me, the race went quite well actually. Spend my three hours of practising before the race bitching about my set up and how slow I was (sorry about that to everyone who heard me btw :P). I actually managed to qualify as pole of the hard tyre starters, but I lost out to Netherdragon at the start of the race because of lag and such so I lost quite a bit of ground there, luckily Zzxxz didn't manage to over take me or hit me off the track when he went off at the second hairpin around lap 3-4!

My first stint on softs went much better than I expected. I was still playing it safe because I was still lagging slightly but I managed to catch Netherdragon and we had a nice fight. I was intending to put on lap 16, but I saw that my tyres would last a few extra laps, and I could tell that Netherdragon wasn't going to pit and if I wanted to beat him & Erik, I had to make a two-stopper work. Pitted on lap 20 instead of lap 16, and lost around 4-5 seconds in those two final laps alone.

Caught Netherdragon again (who pitted on lap 18) but after a couple of laps he pushed me off into the gravel at the second hairpin (it was lag, totally an accident) and I lost another 5 or so seconds there too. Managed to get Arno in the end after he made a mistake and I was only 3-4 seconds away from Skendigi at most, had I had a somewhat better first soft tyre stint & no lag from Netherdragon I more than likely would have taken 3rd place.

Overall, I'm pleased to walk away with 4th place :) My quickest lap was a 1:43.5xx too, fastest lap I've ever done around GVS in any car, so a double whammy there :)

Looking forward to GP/F, and I'd like to vote that we make Spa an endurance race too.

GPCian twice really pitted too late for hard tyres and got twice 5 seconds penalty........just for your info!

Really waiting for your comments iso always being critized.

immortal is right on the tyre guys, pitting at the end of lap 28 does leave 6 laps on hard...


anyway was happy with how race went, had great 1st stint on the soft tyres, then had a random coming together with arkano due to lag(was no where near him on my screen and yet i saw him lurch forward...).

could have had eric for 5th but for some reason my tyre wear on my final stint was dire and i ran off a couple times as my car wouldn't turn...

seriously anyone with the reply look at how little tyres i had left on the final lap and you will understand why i was so slow for the final few laps...


Also congrats to immortal again for the win looks like the championship is yours now, and unlucky falcon for the disconnect.
 
I must be bad at math then but 29 - 34 is 5 laps in my book .

So I ran a extra lap on hard then , I am indeed confused .

I screwed up then , sorry Immortal was just making sure

I forgot to mention too, unlucky Falcon for disconnecting, that really does suck.
 
Yes falcon real sorry you got disconnected , I wanted to see where you would have finished . Your a quite good nsx driver .

I guess its on to nurburgring gp now

Sorry about last night and the miscount of the hard tire laps , I can't believe I miscounted and actually ran one more lap on the hard compound.

My apologies immortal and arno for saying u guys only ran 5 laps
 
i think it would of actually be really exciting if falcon didnt got disconnected.. it was a close one between immo falcon & me, at the end me and immortal were getting ahead & then i saw falcon disapear ! unlucky but hopefully you'll stay in the race next saturday m8
 
Yeh I also believe if I didn't crash I would have put up a good fight with you guys .

3rd is still a good result considering I lost about 15 seconds from that crash.

Had another crash with arno in the hairpin during the hard tire stint , looks like he lost control and spun out and then when I came around the hairpin he was recovering and we made contact . He showed great sportsmanship and let me regain control and repass him .

Looking forward to the next race , it will be a long one , I think a 4 stop pit strategy for me.
 
What's worse is being DC'ed when you've clearly got a win in the bag :lol:

I should be on for some practice later on after the F1, GP/F is one of my best circuits with the GT-R and it's gunna take some practice to get close to the overpowered Supra on there.
 
I really don't know what it is about me but I always seem to make Max crash just by being around him. I also did a pretty epic save into the hairpin which made anastasis go off in an effort to miss me.
 
Its all in good fun , I really don't care where I finish once I do my best .
You can't win every race . It just hurts a bit when you don't have a good result when you got pole.

I had great pace this weekend , found a better setup than last week. Last week I ran 43 1's this week 42 9.

Nurburg isn't one of my best tracks so ill have to be consistent to win this one.

So since I finished 3rd how much weight will I have to add on my supra next week ?

Those 9 laps on the hard tyres are gonna suck

Is it possible to start on hard tires do 5 laps then pit run soft tires for most of race and then finish last 4 laps on hard tires ?
 
You are lucky, next race we will take off 50% of the ballast to everyone with ballast and the last race will be ballast free.
Third place is 30kg, half of that is 15kg, we cant set 15 so we will be setting the room to 10kg. So your car will have to be at 1160kg to enter the track on Nurburgring.

There are some investigations going on.

This is allowed, but I would expect you to inform us about it after the race.

That was a practice run for the next time I made that mistake. It was like "ON GRASS- CAN'T BRAKE (gets back on track) DIRTY TYRES- CAN'T BRAKE!!"

Me too ;-) SPA Enduro would be more realistic as i know there is a competition with 6 six hours race in this wonderful track
