I was a little unlucky at nurgburgring. Did't make a good start, but after the first corner i could squeeze me trough the traffic, next corner i hitted GP(sorry) and i did lose some places, next corner i could take the inside and then i was going to the outside, Eric shows up in front of me so i had to go wide. I holded the paddle down i was just next to him (not much but) and he moves to left hitted me and i touched the grass. I had to be smarter and back off. after that i was 20 seconds behind. on the first stint i lost 5 seconds more compared whit the leaders. I think i had the same pace as Eric(maybe slightly slower) so i had no chance to close the gap so i decided to stop once again. But at lap 14 may tyres were totally destroyed. after that i just completed my laps...

I hope to be better next season, If i could be somehow more consistent i could end up higher. Anyway what car should i use next season?

Sorry I had to leave in a hurry at the end there. my girlfriend heard something that could have been gunshots nearby and since we are in the country this **** happened yesterday I guess we are a bit scared. We turned off all lights and went upstairs to turn off the light there too. Then I heard 3 rounds getting fired off.. I hope there is a idiot playing cool. Been silent in the neighbourhood for almost an hour now so Im back in my livingroom watching the replay. Since Kyaw said I hit him. I'm sorry mate, I was pushed into you from the guy behind me :(

I would suggest that you try out a whole bunch of different cars. Try out the supra's, the NSX's and the GT-R's. We'll have around 3-4 weeks of pre-season races so you've got plenty of time to decide.

How was the race? Did I miss much?

The race was awesome. I managed to get pole, me Phil & GP spent the entire race all within 5 seconds of each other, in the end, Phil won a well earned race victory. I almost had him a few times but he just kept passing me with the slip stream.

Congrats Phil :)

I'll get to uploading the replay once I'm done watching it :)

Holy **** :embarrassed: Glad to hear you're alright for now :)

My mistake really or atleast a racing incident. It can be messy sometimes at the start. and i had to play it smart, since i wasn't in a good position and i had to know you would dive into the inside. its like in Tokyo were i closed the door for you at the chicane, also the time you got me at SSR5. We can't dive into the inside line if we can't reach the other cars side.

Hope everything OK Erik!

Amazing race, my first win!!!

Just watched repay and thats awsome too, with me, Arkano and GP in yellow, blue and red GT-R's all stuck to the back of each other!

I made a great 1st pit stop/out lap/you guys were slow(?) that jumped me ahead of kyaw and Arkano!

I know GP slowed so he would have won otherwise!

Great race guys, especially Arkano and GP!!!

Kyaw tried to kill Arkano LMAO!

I learned alot this race, Now i know how to race at the nurburgring and how to take the corners, I know were i lost my time. in a practice race i did some laps of 1:33.5 whitout going wide or corner cutting, which is not that bad. And on qually i did a 1.34.1. I wasn't happy whit it. I certainly could do a second better i think if used my "full brake setup", but i was somehow a little scared for the tyres so i took less braking power. But it turns out i had some juice left in the tyres if i did a 2 stopper.

great win phil, i thought you pitted to soon, but it turns out you did the right choice. I think some fights turns down the race pace. Maybe it was that what made you quicker?

Cheers Maxitsu!

Btw did I get fastest lap, forgot to look?

1.51.8! Don't know how I did that!

edit: Massive slipstream:tup: cheers Arkano

Crazy stuff... right off the first corner, fallen victim to Phil i think :P

Then Erik pushed me wide into the Ford corner. I spent a few seconds on the grass and joined back in the last place. Then i pulled off good laps, caught up with Erik, passed him and Phil and Arkano had an incident. Put me right behind them. Then GP slowed down and we had some fun.

Then i just lost my **** and missed the braking line at the chicane forcing me to go on the grass to miss everyone but i hit Arkano right on his doors! :D

After that i just lost a lot of confidence and spun at the high speed chicane.
I was doing constant 1.52s and caught up with Erik and finished fourth.

Tyre wear and pace was fine, just the lack of concentration put me off...

It's quite hard to overtake at the GP/F circuit, and when you do manage it, it's quite easy to comeback and re-take the place you lost. Phil's pit strategy was massively helped by a certain red NSX ploughing into the side of my smooth GT-R  It's ok though, I was around half a second a lap quicker than Phil at the end so I managed to catch him with 4 laps to go.

Glad to see that you know you're improving :) I changed my front brake balance to 1 during my second stint (so brakes were 1:4), ended up actually making me quicker and making my tyres last longer.

Oh and GP if you read this, during the last stint our lap times were pretty much identical, that's why you didn't catch me :sly:

Cheers Maxitsu!

Yeah you got the fastest lap :grumpy: It's the only thing I haven't managed this season :(

What's funny, is that you, me & GP all did our fastest laps on the second lap of the race :sly:

You drove a fantastic race :tip: I'll post up the completed championship tables in a few minutes.

If it's not too much trouble could someone write down which drivers were battling for position and when? It would help me a lot when making the video so I don't have to go through it twice. ;)

You lost it and I slowed so I didn't spin you round which put me second last!

Erm...Me, Phil and GP were together for pretty much the entire race. Seriously.

From about lap 27 onwards I was right on Phil's bumper, and then GP caught up and it was all 3 of us on each others bumpers from around lap 29 to lap 32. Make sure you follow one of us three on the last lap for sure, because GP has 'a moment' going into the chicane :sly:

At the start, Erik is the middle man in a Maxitsu - Kyaw spinning sandwhich.

Somewhere in the second stint, when GP has slowed down for Kyaw to catch up. There's two packs, me & Phil and GP & Kyaw, make sure you follow Kyaw because he decides he wants to get into my car at the chicane.

I think he was trying to add ballast to your car!:)

There's me and Erik for the second to last lap and last lap.
And he missed the braking line at the chicane and crashed...

Well i didn't see anyone...:indiff:

Thats what i like about the DFGT, that red thing is actually a very handy tool. to bad the T500 does not have this.

ye ye rub it in :(

I waited for 2-3 laps to try overtake you in the last lap to have the advantage of slipstream but then I missed the grrrr breaking point yes :(

I'm pretty happy with the result anyway so no regrets, racing is racing even when I'm the good stuff in the sandwich.. :sly:

Pink boxes = lowest score/missed race.

Picture time!

YKteN.jpg

Everyone lined up on the grid, with me on pole.

53rgp.jpg

Myself & GP manage to get away cleanly whilst Kyaw & Phil have a moment together.

WAZOl.jpg

Maxi touches the grass and goes off the track!

a9HpB.jpg

Erik touches Kyaw and pushes him off the track!

EA4lZ.jpg

A nice panoramic shot. Me leading the pack and Kyaw bringing up the rear, Maxi is nowhere to be seen.

jaId8.jpg

And so begins the race for first.

9s7xk.jpg

Kyaw manages to catch up to, and overtake Erik!

qBuVW.jpg

I go in too deep and push Phil off at the hair pin! GP takes off whilst I wait for Phil.

qPYFZ.jpg

I catch the grass whilst braking into the chicane, chaos everywhere!

k5Sby.jpg

Kyaw crashes into the side of me as I recover from my excursion.

N7KoS.jpg

And again?! This time at a much higher speed.

IYoLj.jpg

The evidence is all too clear of an accident. Looks like he ran over an Ewok, or a bear.

cmX2h.jpg

I almost span Phil on the penultimate lap! Look how close the top three are!

Full album here.

Nurburgring GP/F replay :)

Now that the championship is finished, I'll get around to posting the pre-season thread tomorrow some time, with all the provisional rules and regulations.

Just to let you all know as well, I'm going to be doing a whole bunch of extensive testing regarding the NSX this week. Personally I think it could do with a little more power, at the moment I'm thinking of stage 3 engine with the power limiter (shamefully stolen from the WSGTC). So we'll see what happens.

I just have to ask. Considering the giant time different and the fact everyone participating from outside Europe have not been very active in this season. Should you make this a European championship Arkano?

I mean, when we start race they haven't even got home from work/school in USA..

EDIT: Nice pictures mate :)

I don't think making it a European exclusive championship would really make all the difference. I think qualy each weekend actually starts at around 3pm or 5pm depending on which coast of the US you're referring to. The only two non-Euro's we've had were gtamann (who disappeared) and OwensRacing (who had to put family ahead of racing).

The only thing that concerns me with non-Euro's joining, is the increased possibility of lag. But hopefully it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

After all, it is the Intercontinental GT500 Championship ;)

As long as people are committed, clean, respectful and turn up for the vast majority of race weekends, then I have no problem with them :)

Oh, I forgot to mention earlier:

Shoutouts to Phil, Maxi & Erik. You've all improved immensely this season, as the results in the tables show 👍 Maybe we'll see Maxi & Erik grabbing some podiums, or even wins next season? :scared:

Don't forget YingYang, I hope he does drive at season 2, but i have my doubts. Its nice if there will be drivers that sign-up and stay. loats of Poeple don't show up or leaves when they can't win.

Me podium...maybe if i am very lucky. And GP/you and roy have to be staying home.:sly: i already would be happy for decent points like in my last 4 races.

Given YingYang's 3 month stretch of inactivity, I doubt we'll be seeing him in season two. I'm not sure what's happening with Roy either, the guy doesn't seem to follow this thread at all.

The signups for the pre-season will actually be closed, we need to work out whether this collaboration with NeoGAF will work or not. So hopefully we can expect a number of new faces next week :)
