I took a look and I think I will go with Audi, And from what I have read you can
use only road cars that you can buy for the qualifier, but in the six race's can you use
cars like the Audi Leman Prototype because I like that car even more than the
R8 race car. Just thought I would ask.
thanks for joining james.
it's true, in the six races you can drive any of your audi's but each one only once. in the qually you can pick any prod cars but it doesn't have to be audi.
btw special thanks 'cos you're our number 20!

sorry tobe but the r8 is no german production road car so your first qually time is off i'm afraid. why don't you try another audi instead (like the wonderful rs4) and come back with another time?

sorry, missunderstood the rules :ouch:

tobi/madforce (mercedes sl 65 amg - amalfi normal - gt mode) 1.37.669

Got a good time in on amalfi, BMW M5 1:35.832, this was done in gt mode and is definitly the dirtiest lap Ive ever done.

1 question for you guys, dont you think VW, RUF and OPEL are outclassed.

Oh and were is everyone.

yeah sorry, not had too much time to myself of late...I'll try and get a time in by the end of the weekend...Just dunno what car to use....??
Danisfast

I can pick any road car for the qualifier? Ok thats different I guess.
As for are VW, RUF and Opel being out classed, i'm not sure.
I know VW only has little car except for the W12, RUF cars are fast if
you can drive them, and Opel does have two race car but there
not the fastest around. So i'm not sure but if a good driver was to drive them.

Edit:
Never mind, but I now have a idea for a car:).

I managed a 1'27.904 using a SLR McLaren today, I know I can do better but I refuse to try for any longer than 20-30 mins. Note: Was at Amalfi 'Normal' on GT mode. 👍

Good luck to all other participants.

to luke/gtpro - great time! hope it gets beaten tho. 'normal' means you did not do the track in reverse order. and was it arcade or gt mode?

to james/angelcreator - yes, pick any car for the qually as long as it's german production.

to dan/isfast - start off picking any german brand's supercar (but no prototypes) and see how you score.

to speed-racer/imraan - you are right about the brands, but some of the guys just like to participate and don't mind not winning. you did arcade or gt mode?

to all - i'm considering some sort of points system where the advantage of fast cars is compensated by the ptw ratio's. more on that later.
otherwise - thanks for publishing your first qually times but many others still have to inform us about their initial adventures so let's have it guys!

What about Drivetrain-disadvantages?

Also, racecars, even with a lower PWR, can still be faster simply because they produce 38F/53R downforce on touring-cars and 53/88 on Le Mans racers (Sauber, etc.), which adds grip and speed in corners.

metar - thanks for thinking along.

you're right about the racecar issue. i'm now fiddling with excel (thanks to the guys over at the vault for having all data so easily present) to look at some example results.

btw where is your first qually time mate?

Still working on it. I've now got the qually to do, WRS Week 74, as well as the ARS with Ben

Which reminds me...

1'53.7, Nardo Concept on S3s with Arcade-tuning and TCS. Not exactly clean, but who can control a 700BHP-1130KG monster?

EDIT: Doesn't qualify as production-car... :(

My qualifying time:

2:07.210

That's the results of about 5 laps in a stock M5. :D

GT Mode - Normal

Excellent, registrations confirmed guys 👍
Remember to do your qualifier laps and submit them in here.

to jarrett- welcome and thanks for registering to this weird little tournament. i hope you enjoy. very courageable of you to pick an underdog brand like that. and thanks for an immediate qually time!

to derek - same to you, but don't forget to post a qualifying time in a german production car of your choice before wednesday evening.

we are now at 23 competitors, which is more than i hoped for knowing of all the other olr competitions going on. it's great!

Flat-out :
Audi A2 1.4 '02 : 2'40.582
(Arcade mode, +20% power -10% weight)

I didn't get a time for this today because I had to get a time for the F1GP.
But with that done I can do this tomorrow, and then I will be done untill
next week WRS starts, I do keep busy don't I:D.

M5 1'46.766 GT Mode

I think( actually I know) that I left some time out there. Teh car is really fun to drive and surprisingly forgiving. I think that I have it set-up too stiff, needs a bit more resilience.

so now what?

thanks for your qually time. maybe you can try to improve your time cos some of us are really ahead of your 1.46.
next, you could try to figure out what car you want to use for each of the given tracks. since the qually winner will pick the first track you won't know what you'll have to race come thursday.
the m5 is probably one of the cars you'll be using in the 6 races so this is a good time to get to know the car better and to set it up properly to your liking.
btw daddy-o, i don't have your first name yet, would you be willing to share it with us?

to all - thanks for the qually times.

board updated

btw how can daddy-o be almost 20 seconds slower in the m5 than luke in the slr?

Eh?!

Is that a typo or are you on a different track to me?

How can you run 5 seconds quicker in car with less than 100hp?

Sure, my M5 was stock, and sure it wasn't the ultimate lap that I put in, but I fail to see how a '49 Beetle can be 5 seconds quicker.

ahum, chris, in fact i was wondering how you ended up so slow in the m5 as my slr lap was in the 1.3x's without too much trouble. are you doing amalfi?

btw i need your help in setting up a spreadsheet to calculate race points - can we have contact over msn on that issue. you're the IT guy and i'm just a cook so ... :)

I'm pretty sure I was on Amalfi - wouldn't be the first time I was way off the mark though. :guilty:

I'll check. :)

I got my M5 time down to 1:32.174, but I doubt Im gona beat the SLR.

Daddy-o, are you using a fully tuned M5, wing and nos included, if you are, remember that this is no rules racing, so try riding a few walls. U'd be surprized at the advantage it would give you on this track.
