1'54.317, BMW M3 GTR, GT mode.

That's 5 seconds cut from my previous time, thanks to shorter gear sets and installing the nitro. Can't believe a full tank only lasted two laps.

i had a discussion with metar/gingiba about cars that are admitted to the no rules tournament. he stated that since ruf cars are in fact tuning cars, the hpa golf should also be admitted, especially since volkswagen is an underdog brand as it is without any racers - even opel has two touring cars.
following this, i am going to allow volkswagen drivers to use the hpa golf as one of their six cars they may use for the six races, but NOT for the qually since it definitively is no german production car.
to avoid any other discussions after this post the ruf cars will be treated as belonging to a normal german car brand (after all it's porsche's own stupid fault they weren't programmed into gt4 by pd - stupid rights issues).

Hi guys.

Sorry I've not been quicker getting my qualifier time up but I've been away for a few days, here it is now though. 👍

SuperT - Audi TT Coupe 3.2 Quattro '03 - Amalfi normal - 1'44.784

GT mode and fully tuned. Saving the big guns for later. :D

Nice to see we've got a good few racers here too.

Darren.

Big Guns aren't necessary - he stated that the car used here will also be eligible for another run.

Don't worry Metar, the 3.2 TT will be making another appearance before the end of the series. :D

@ Steven. Are we allowed any race cars in our final six?

Lovely post Darren. First time I see someone posting his qualification time and actually not mention the time at all
And Steven : Ruf's are considered road cars in the game, not tuning cars. However, it seems fair to allow the HPA.

Well spotted Cyril, I await tomorrow night's WRS thread for the new typo comp. ;)

Just checking to see who's awake. :sly:

:dopey: :embarrassed:

yes-as-long-as-it's-six-different-cars-from-the-same-brand

*** wonders if anyone ever reads a thread carefully ***

never mind darren buddy :)

My one-year experience as the WRS steward taught me that no, most of us don't read a thread carefully, or I should rather say, most of us don't know where to find an information they've already read and are looking for.

gee I guess I was trying to be too clean! I'll get a it more "agressive" i also haven't installed Nitrous so maybe I'll give it a whirl. Should I re-submit when I get a better time or just move on to the next track?

i suggest you read the opening posts of this thread again my friend. please make a new post with your improved time. wednesday is the deadline for the qually. the winner of the qually gets to pick the track for the first race, so you can properly start thursday.
ok?

a new laptime for me. i was updating the qually board and thought - why doesn't anyone run amalfi in reverse? so i did and gained almost 3 seconds in my 3rd try. not too bad is it?

merc slr - amalfi reverse - gt mode - 1.34.613

Eh?!

Is that a typo or are you on a different track to me?

How can you run 5 seconds quicker in car with less than 100hp?

Sure, my M5 was stock, and sure it wasn't the ultimate lap that I put in, but I fail to see how a '49 Beetle can be 5 seconds quicker.
It only weighs 855kg and the brakes are unbelievebly strong. I used almost an entire bottle of Nitrous through the lap, believe me I was pushing it. I think it'd be possible to run a little faster, but it'd take some work. I think a lap under the 2 minute mark would be possible. I also drive this car ALOT so I got it tuned well.
BTW is the Nardo allowed in the Quali and the final races? Since there's no rules I figured it would but who knows, since it's not a production car, but rather a production engine.
Oh and technically RUF is Volkswagen, but I guess we won't dealth too deeply into that. :embarrassed:

I tried it today and the fastest I could go is 1:47:xxx with a fully tuned
BMW M5, with that said I find a 1:27 hard to beleave. Even if you did
use the wall to go around some of the corners.

Try using every wall, and some nos on the exits, I also got around 147 without using walls or nos.

BTW try running a few laps with the slr, u'll see the difference(higher torque, better hill climb)

Well not in the qualifier, no. But me and Steven think that you can use the Volkswagen HPA Tuner Golf in the main racing. Because in the qually there are no non-production cars allowed.

friends,
dan/holl01 just told me he'd rather be out of the competition before it starts. i convinced him into it a week ago or so, but he sort of loses interest in gt4 alltogether. well, better now than during the races, that's what i think. he's a great driver but we still have a wonderful team here.
i am looking forward to racing you guys starting thursday 👍 👍 👍

Hmmm... well Casio, I know you're apparently 'shredding' my qually time but I'll try harder tonight. Problem is, I don't how much you're beating mine by...

here's a little hint on posting in the coming thread rules.

races in no rules are won by the racer that picks the right car for the right track and handles it well. but if he posts his car choice some others will pick the same car and tries to beat him all the same.

example. the qually winner picks le mans as the first track. he does mercs so he picks his best car - the c9. another racer reads it in the race thread and picks the same car instead of the slr he wanted to drive in the first place ...

off course everyone is free to post whatever he wants - it's no rules after all - but if you're in to win you'd better think twice what you tell the others ...

btw i will post all i do 'cos i'm in for the fun and to let you have some!

Just a quick reminder to all-
Remember for the qually we can use ANY German production car, not just one from our chosen brands.

i second that - especially to young co-***

never mind, don't want to rub in anything :odd:

thanks for reminding all, βen!

another hint from your race steward.

i tried the difference between the performance of cars in arcade and gt mode.
as a combo i picked the bmw 320i touring car at laguna seca, which is one of the probable combinations for me in no rules since i picked beamers as my brand.

outcome after one lap:
bob in arcade at speed 4 ___: 1.32.606
me in arcade _____________: 1.29.707
me in gt mode ____________: 1.24.249

do i need to explain? well: gt mode is probably the choice to pick.

I got a 1'41.500. And yes, that is my time not just some made up one.
And the car I used was the Mercedes SL65 AMG. I almost had a clean lap:ouch:
but I hit the wall.

Ok here is my qualifier time.

1:43:396/Mercedes SLR '03/clean with no NOS

Yes I know I can use the wall but I just can't get off the "clean race only".
But one thing I would like to ask the fastest driver's is do you have a replay
of the lap you did or one close to it so I can see how you are going around
the corner. Because I did try a few laps using the wall but I just could not go
as fast as you poeple. If you don't that ok.
