Owh I didnt know people were changing the gears aswell.. I might revisit the M3 then and have abit more of a tweat if we are allowed?

Can we change all the settings or is it just the tyres, power and weight?

I don't think anyone's changing gears, I only did it on the DB9 to see if it could be more of a match for the F430's acceleration (since it's so heavy and its gears are so long), and it was the final gear only.

But it may get too confusing, so I think it's better to leave gears alone. I'll get right back to you guys concerning the DB9, no gear change involved.👍

PSTC555: The settings for the M3 have now been done. It can keep up with the f430 so Id say its worth putting it on the list. The settings are on page 19.

Good job Jack, can't wait to try it out. I post the settings on the front page. ;)

I think we need to go back to the start. Leave the race as a one make car only.
Then change cars every other week or so, and using the same 680pp and everything!

Why? The cars we have now are very equal. The GTS/SRT10 may be a little slower but people still enjoy using it. f430 and the M3 are very equal, as is the TVR. People enjoy using the variation.

+1 👍

But i think the majority wants more cars to choose from.

That Honda is a beast compared to the f430

I'm going to give the M3 a whizz for xx:02 but in advance I haven't done much practice in it so I could hold people in which I apologise for...

Sorry Hyper, but at the moment i am more a passenger in the NSX then really having control.

Hope i didn't screw up your race when i tried to battle a bit?

@Prudentbear:
Watch my driving and you'll know.....i find it really hard to control after the ferrari and my arms already hurt because of countersteering....so in terms of harder ;-)

I like to ask Jack, what's your average lap time in the M3? I can only muster 2'11-2'12's on average, it tends to be quite snappy at certain turns in which I have to get used to since it is a rear wheel drive. But then again i'm only using a Sixaxis so I can't tell from those who use racing wheels.

Because i like racing people in in the same car. Then i can find out how slow i am, compared to other drivers. You really can not do that, when everyone has a different car! I like variation also, and you can do that by changing like i said. Just my opinion.:)

The way the cars set in PP though, we have made then to be as close as possible. We arent making the cars to max tuned, we are making them so they are the same.

If the car is to faster or to slower for the cars we have already setup then it doesnt race.

So you will be able to see how fast you are compared with other members.

Lol, must be me struggling with the M3. Turned back to Safety Car duties and my goodness, fair_play_please was giving me a run for my money in his blue M3 at the formation lap that I had to push very hard to stay ahead! I think the sensitivity of the SIXAXIS is not an ideal control unit hence why I struggled. Going to set my capture cam again, probably ready for xx:47.

Ok, final test results just came in for the DB9.

Aston Martin DB9 Coupe '06
Power: +17
Weight: 85%
Tires: R3/R3
695pp

It doesn't lap in free run as fast as the F430 (but the difference is only a second or so), but in race it's a very good match all around, both in turns and straights.
Racer_LP and mr_VOLCANO helped me out a lot while testing this car, so they can vouch for how even it is with the F430.
Big thanks to them as well as mr_geez.

The xx.02 race was awesome! Think we was 10 on 680pp and no fuzz in the first turn;) Actually I manage to overtake 2-3 in first turn:) Hope you got that on tape patchysan

I must say that the DB9 from beerz is very evenly matched with f430! I'm sticking too the ferrari though, my favoritt car

The start of the last race was a mess, lots of crashing of the other (faster cars), because someone wanted to overtake me on my right, just where i was going to get out of the way...

Just one to think about:

The cars seem to ghost out immediately when driving in reverse, dont they? I never hit somebody so far when driving backwards...would it make sense to drive backwards after the start if thats true, or do you think thats more confusion for the other cards in the grid?

+1. Came out of the 2nd corner as 1st of the 680pp drivers and finished 2nd overall. Only one 750pp-ish car in front of us and we (me, beerz, mr_volcano and prudentbear, till he made a mistake) were catching him.

Great driving guys 👍

I thought about that aswell, but I think that would bring even more confusion.

The xx:02 showing before was a good turn out, almost the whole grid bar 4 was competing in the race. I saw you made your move mr_VOLCANO going on the inside of the first corner to pass me! ;) Unfortunately I didn't set up my capture cam at the time so sorry about that... :( I try to do it for future events if you're staying on now.

If people are happy with the DB9 setup then there should be no problems adding to our growing list. 👍

I think its best to stick with the status quo, we might give them the wrong message for the higher spec cars at the back if we reverse backwards into them.

my best lap time with the M3 was a 2:01:540 in the :47 race without much slipstream but much pd boost i think:)
the average time could be a 2:05 to 2:07 at the moment...

I'm going to join at 47. I really like the idea of this event and its probably going to be an MR for me, I am liking the look of the NSX. Race you guys in a bit. 👍

Sorry guys, just need the specific settings or confirmation on the Ferrari F430, Honda NSX and Dodge Viper SRT10 in terms of power and weight as there are different combinations you can do to get the PP number. Just updated the front page, put specific settings for the TVR, BMW & Aston Martin so far.

Sorry initial-D for the cut up on the first lap! I thought everyone had pasted and didnt see you in your small and dark TVR. My bad mate.

:tup:At last the Astin Martin actuallly feels quick to drive. I have always avoided it, but my god I goes some with less weight. I have learnt a lesson lately that less weight is by far better than more HP.

Well done to whoever suggested this car.
