ripping silk- youve been a little rough with the passes all night. this last race, you went up under me at the tight right hander before the bridge after dunlop, and made 4 impacts with me in a row, as i tried desparately to hold onto my line. you were finally successful, and i went hard into the wall. could you please drive a little more respectfully?

Yea - I've raced against him before. I mean, thats on my good days - on my so/so days, I never even see him haha.

WannaB, same to you I had a blast, I hope I was a worthy adversary. I know what you mean about the multiposts - I had alot to say - very very excited haha. Easier than editing, but I'll edit from now on.

Learned alot about respect out there. You guys rock.

Is it the same half dozen guys showing up every night, or does everyone come out of the woodwork?

Yup, the vette was smoking. Were you and Sissou behind my evo together, i coulda sworn you were neck and neck

Think you get different guys on, i saw EL_ZISSOU get pushed off so i pitted after lap one until you both caught up and passed

The evo just has enough power to compete, extremely close gearing, my shifter fingers get tired. Crazy grip though - even with the wheel, as long as i have one wheel on the pavement, im good to go full throttle. Chicane is a quick flick flick - not surgical liek the gtlm at all.

Full toe out, front and back. its excessive, but fun

I had an EVO tune as well, only used it once though, was a tad on the slow side though

again. last left hander in the esses, you floored it from behind me and shot straight for the apex, crashed into my driver's side door, and i was in the sand. it took me the rest of the race, but i caught you, passed you clean, and beat you. why do you wear a gtp tag?

gimme a break.. you put me in the sand on two occasions tonight, and straight into the barrier at casio...before i went underneath... i do apologise for the bump at degner.... and then after at the last :00 race you rear ended me at first corner.

if i hit you im sorry, but it was not intentional. yours were.

again- dude you are either openly aggressive or passive aggressive. same turn, tight right before the bridge, ive caught up to you and you overbrake, expecting that i want to punt you, and of course i hit you and you went into the sand. i waited as a sign of apology (even though you caused the incident), and you did the same thing at the 180, except this time you ghosted when slammingon the brakes and i went into the sand.

if you've rear ended me four times tonight... maybe... just maybe.. your braking late ? anyway.. i'm not getting into a slanging match.. see you out there.. maybe we'll have a good race.

yes, of course im braking late, what other way to brake is there? (please dont take this literally and write me a braking encyclopedia)

anyway you beat me to it- see ya out there.

There's a technique you can use that avoids hitting the car in front. I call it the 'Paying attention technique'

I want to remind everybody not to double post. Please use the edit button if you're still the last poster.

I would also like to remind everybody to use this thread for discussion together with the odd bit of chat for the purpose of endorsing a good race or arranging a time to race . Spamming this thread with double and triple posts that mostly amount to spam will not be taken kindly.

The last three pages have been appalling.

I really enjoyed reading the last few pages. I wasn't racing there, but enjoyed to read about what was going on. Also helps me learn more about the track and racing as well as getting to know people i might meet online in the future. But i noticed that you had edited a few post Sphinx, was it a lot more messy before i read it?

GTP_Tzayad had countless double and triple posts basically.

owned 👍

All about the reflexes :D

Or just brake early for the corner at catch up with draft? or just make a bold overtake...

I tend to worry and usually get myself K.O but at least everyone else is ok 👍

As a rule, you cannot brake at the same point you normally do, while following someone. 95% of the time, you will have to brake earlier. Even if they brake as late as you, you will hit them if you don't brake earlier. If they brake sooner, you will really have a problem. The only time I have ever been able to use my same braking points, is when I am following a well tuned, well driven Elise. They can go deeper then I can in the Vette, thus no issue.

This is what causes a ton of the punts I see. People just don't realise they can't drive their "normal" line. You must adjust for those in front of you. Basically, the only time you should be braking late while someone is in front of you, is when you are along side of them, out braking them for the pass.

To add to that you really cant see ahead of you... meaning when and where to break is kinda lost so yes brake early and draft back!

This is why i use chase view, it gives you the best possible perception of where everybody is and what's going on with yourself and those close by. Also using a controller I can't always be pin point with my steering so seeing where everyone is, particularly those in the blind spots, is a great advantage allowing me to make overtakes others can't make as well as allow space others won't know to leave in the same situation e.g when people dive up the inside from way to far back and would otherwise hit you.

+1 on using the chase view online. I don't get why people use the in-car view and then start complaining about getting bumped off by other players who are trying to make a some what aggresive pass, or who try to go two wide through a corner to get a good run for the next corner. You can't see a damn thing going on around you due to the limited range of vision, and are likely to nudge someone off or get taken out quite easily because of this. Most the in-car players just drive their line with little awareness of what's going on around them.

I will say that the chase view makes catching the initial oversteer a bit more difficult though, especially with a controller.

There's always the side view buttons.. and with many good racers you only need to look once to the side and you'll know what they're up to.. :)

I have absolutely no problems driving bumper view and being 100% aware of where other people are around me ... you've just got to pay attention and have a 6th sense for others intentions.

Against good drivers I have no problems running 2 wide in to turn 1 at Suzuka - GTRP_Hugo and I had a great battle earlier this week where we ran side by side several times, and me_against_you and I had several 2 wide overtakes through degner and Spoon last night... you just got to know where the other car is and be able to trust them.

How the hell you 2 drive so quickly using chase cam is beyond me, especially in cars with less grip... how the hell do you correct the slides?

And when in front or side/side I also use the surround sound to know where people are.

With the latest update, it's kind of annoying as other car sounds completely muffle your own. When side by side or +/- same place, I can't use it to control revs and gearshift because I can't hear my engine properly.

But it's another good way of being aware of where is someone coming from or in what side he his.

What buttons activate the side view? Never heard about this... :dunce:

I dont know the default buttons by heart, but they should be adjustible in the options menu under the controller/wheel that you use.

There is a simple rule that can help in situations like that - if you run wide, stay wide. Generally if someone is closing on you and you screw up your brake point and end up with a bit of understeer, you can pretty much assume the other drive will take you on the inside. At this point you should concede the position and accept that you've been beat. The average player doesn't realise this and will try to jab on the anchors and cut back in - that's how accidents happen.
