Exactly, and if you go for an overtake on the inside, make sure you can hold the line - avoid going in too hot, sliding wide and pushing the other person off.

When you're able to do this and you can trust the other driver to the same is when you get the best quality racing... they are the races that make me :D

ah, i see. Makes better reading as it is now.

I will try hard to uphold a proper level of forum etiquette from now on - I'm sincerely sorry to everyone for whom my post diarrhea has made reading this topic painful. To everyone, thanks for the heads up and the warning, no matter how subtle or scornful.

On subject - I can't race from any view but front bumper, it's just not something I've ever liked. I'm still a nervous wreck when I'm grouped with people going into corners, typically I try to break early, or at least slow up somewhere else so that corners aren't such a deathtrap. I'm still learning from the racing line, so I try to keep enough distance so I can read the line beyond whoever is in my way - and not just watch the line coming out from their exhaust.

I'll be signing on this afternoon - hope so see you guys there.

How the hell you 2 drive so quickly using chase cam is beyond me, especially in cars with less grip... how the hell do you correct the slides?

It definately makes getting out of the slower corners (hairpin) tough, as there is a lot of instantaneous weight transfer taking place along with excessive wheel spin if I'm not careful. Sometimes I'll over correct or slighty miss the counter steer and the car will end up snapping off into the grass. Lots of practice and familiarity with the car has minimized this but it still happens every now and then. Stiffening the dampers made the car much more predictable to. I will say that mastering the chase cam has definately made driving with the in car view cake work as catching the slide is second nature at this point.

Hope to see you around...you were very quick in the couple of races I had with you. 👍 I was losing focus/motivation and couldn't keep it on the track lol :dopey:

Yes, had some good races with you (IIRC, in a white skyline - Mines?) earlier this week... spotted the oversteer you were getting coming out of the hairpin :D

One thing I notice about pad drivers is it's much harder for them to hold a constant line around the really fast corners (it seems so long since I used a pad - it's amazing how quickly I've got used to the G25)... the good pad drivers don't suffer from this as much (the bad ones are all over the road), but compared to a wheel it looks much harder work. Actually makes the bad pad drivers harder to overtake as you're never quite sure if they are going to hold the line or not - round the long right hander leading to Spoon for example.

Yeah that was me lol.

Today I actually had the same problem that you are speaking of on that long right hander leading to Spoon.:sly: I was trying to make a pass on the outside of the sweeper and got a wheel off in the grass which led me to overshoot my braking point. It didn't help that I was trying to be overly generous with giving the guy next to me plenty of room either. I'm not terribly bad with the pad, but definately far from the best. I don't think my fingers are cordinated enough to precisely control the angle of the steering joystick within a couple of degrees, nor are my fingers capable of controlling the gas and brake buttons with total precision and consistancy. I mean what's the difference between 60% throttle and 63% throttle when using the pad buttons? 1/100 of an inch? It's amazing that some of us pad users do as well as we do. I think with a wheel I would probably be able to shave a second or two off my laps, especially so with the more tailhappy cars. The wheel would also allow me to set the car up with less understeer and more tail rotation, which would definately help with cornering speeds at Suzuka. Too bad getting a wheel is of my last priorities at this point in time. :indiff:

Just had my first race online at suzuka 750 since the update .. sorry if I had any form of contact with you Bennant! .. just gettings to grips again 👍

Third night in a row where the racing was totally dominated by FAQ EVIL in a tuned Clio: as far as I could tell, he won every single race, including a few where he was booted off at turn 1 & had to work his way back through the field. I kept waiting for someone to show up who could give him a run for his money with a "macho" car - but it never happened...

I never see someone racing from GTP !?!? Just join the server @ .15 / .30 / .45 / .00 ?

Is that before, or after looking for players. Do u guys use forum time or just your own time ?

I have been playing at those times & always meet up with some other GTPers - not so much Europeans, because of the time difference, but I am seeing drivers from OZ regularly - of course, they always win, because they're a day ahead... ;)

What's OZ (also a clan or something ?) I saw in my race a couple of mins ago. Much people from TEW (JP). Not that good, but good enough for a time under de 10.20

Maybe you must set the clock of your ps3 again. Go to settings, then choose to update the clock via internet. Once you are in GT5P, hit X when the red hand meets the 12 hour mark at xx.00 / xx.15 and so on. Hope this helps. I will be online later tonight.

Watch out for GT5_Pink [JP], really good racer gave me a run for my money all the way from lap 1 to the end we battled trading places all the time. Then he went and almost ruined it after running wide on 130R on the final turn trying to pass me, and took a stupid dive up the inside, he hit me but waited for me to rejoin so i could win. The GTLM driven by a TeamGT driver behind couldn't even match the pace we had going in the Vipers.

I remember during the days of 600PP I had a lot of unpleasant run-ins with FAK_EV1L, he wasn't a sporting driver. He appears to have improved greatly.

Actually he didn't totally dominate last night. In one race you were running second to me Biggles (SimcoeAce?) and something happened to you at T1, I waited for you and we carried on. He did catch me in that race and passed me on the last lap to win by like 1 or 2 seconds, but I reckon I would have won it otherwise in the tuned Vette.

Also, when you have a good first lap and are leading by maybe 4 secs by the end, the RBE goes into brutal overdrive. I was pulling 2'06s and getting slower. Ridiculous.

All the best

good race pasm-89 I was really sloppy in the gtlm for some reason but managed to keep it on the track.👍

I have noticed that the RBE seems stronger than a while ago, but it remains a bit of a mystery to me.

Thank you for your kind consideration! :)

FAQ_EV1L seemed fair enough to me - on the few occasions where I was in front of him, he blew by me without any nastiness. I'm not saying that you, or someone else, couldn't have beaten him on occasion, but the fact is that I'm pretty sure he won every race I witnessed , which over a period of 4 - 5 hours over 3 nights is quite an accomplishment. And this was in the much maligned Clio. I did actually find my Clio to be faster than my Vette, but the Vette could certainly use some tuning...

The Blitz is great on the straights, but slow in the esses.

Good racing though!👍

The 750pp Suzuka World Event is mislabeled as STD. When you get into the event, physics are locked on PRO.

Thank you.
That Viper is a really stable car:) you should try it too:sly: But the GTLM is unbeatable with it's raw speed.

sorry PASM, Konvex and Vaxen
i can not go more faster with that blitz ;)
but nice racing though 👍
No problem. That race was good.

Oh yeah absolutely, every race I saw him in he won. No dispute there :)
