you understant what you want...lool
it's not gtr judgement ...just a particulare case in the start of race....i love seeing htx driving his gtr.....then every body use the car he wants but not the problem at all ...are you all childs for no understanding ???

i take the leed to block others....and gtlm blocking elise is quit rare cause very slow to start and the gtlm go far before elise get back.....after it's the race ...and no prob to wait behind slower guy, i did 10000000times so thx i know i have too wait...ok no matter i let u between gtp members ....but
did you really think i'm a noob.....:sly:

Thanos, I'm very sorry if i miss understood you. I think i know what you mean now.

You feel it is ok for people to use the GTR, as long as they are you friends and can drive them fast enough, and also if they let you through so you don't have to try to over take them. Is that right?

I'm also glad that you cleared up the fact that you take the lead to block people. I take it that you think people can only block when they are driving the GTLM? Or is it only you that is allowed to block?

Thanos your posts are unreadable! learn english or don't bother even typing that jibberish

ARE YOU PROUD ??????? DO YOU SPEAK FRENCH OR SPANISH ? I WILL EXPLAIN TO YOU BETTER......POOR GUY PFFFFF:grumpy:

Thanos..are you trying to say that when a slower car is in front they should move over to let a faster car through?

Like i just did for you in a race online

I think i have seen Mr P once and if i remember correctly, he was a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his head, and his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth.

Hell of a nice guy though.

not here mate...on track off course...:) but it's more easy to write than to ride:sly:

Big talk and it doesn't scare me? damn I must be one tough dude :sly:

Anyway everyone, past my bed time. it's been.....interesting. Remember, it's a new day tomorrow.

As a wise man once said:

Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari?

Goodnight. XXX

Since when have the Japanese become punting pieces of $#!*!!!!! I have had more and more problems with people that have the JP after their name, sending me into the sand while braking.

I CANNOT WAIT for private rooms.

Hi Maz, just wasn't that lucky today. Tried the Elise for the first time, but in the process of improving the setup and getting to know the car I was faced with punters, lots of lag and force feedback problems. I also lost my concentration because of that and started to make errors. So I either retired a race or I was running in the background...

In the end I got my setup sorted and had some great races battling with all the LM's. Only by that time you were already gone.. Will catch you soon again ;)

Btw, I noticed you have your Vette going pretty well, since you finished second once in a very strong field. Keep it up 👍

Cheers Hugo mate, it's still the same setup as my freerun time. I didn't change it yet as I decided to hit the time trial London event this weekend and forgot to tune it.

I saw one of Rudi's videos this weekend where you were hassling GTLMs in a Blitz! Awesome stuff..

All the best
Maz (Synwraith)

Heh... I read this thread before I went to bed about midnight... looks like the maturity level deteriorated as the night wore on :D

Anyhow, whilst I might not agree with the style/method of communication, I do have sympathy for Thanos's point of view regarding the GTR - and for me, you can add the Mines and Clio to that list too.

Sure, these 3 cars might be just about fast enough to compete on out and out free run lap times in the right hands, but they only do this because they are super fast on the straights. The huge differential between them and the more usual GTLM/Vette/Viper/Elise/S2000 in braking distances and corner speeds makes them a mobile road block as they are almost impossible to pass if they are half decently driven - you can't pass them on the straights as they have too much power, then they potter round from turn 1 to the exit of Spoon at invalid car speeds, generally sliding around, missing apex's and running wide... but if you try to get up the inside of them in a bend you/them generally get punted and it's going to be your fault as you instigated the move.

It's fine to say 'live with it', 'it's your responsibility to pass them' etc etc, but given the only place to pass them is in the corners this does bring a big added risk of contact... to be honest, I'd rather go up the inside of a GTLM through Dunlop than I would a GTR/Mines/Clio as at least there's a chance the GTLM might hold a reasonable line and not cut back across in to you.

750PP should be for 'racing' cars.

Just my opinon!

Thanos,
After many years in OLR one gets to know (through experience) who the fast guys really are. Being recognised as a fast & clean driver has nothing to do about just driving the fastest car and thus winning races occasionally, it's all about displaying your ability to compete in any car, and doing it cleanly. Rudi is a good example of this, he is competitive throughout a whole range of 750pp car and proves it every time you see him on the track, In fact, he has proved it time and time again throughout the years in different releases of Gran Turismo, and in comparison you are nowhere near this level of ability. So my friend, although you are a fast driver, I'm afraid you're just like me and many others; Fast, but not fast enough to make much difference.

Thanos,

In my opinion the whole idea of this event is to find a car you're comfortable with and then utilize its strenghts to the best of your abilities. There's a bunch of great, competitive cars to drive in this event, many of which are totally different (take a Ford GT06, Nissan GT-R and Lotus Elise 111R, for example).

The great thing about racing is that in the end, the speed your potential allows you to gain is only a part of the equation. I've had quite a few run-ins with Clio drivers that are almost hopelessly slow in T1, but rocket away on the straights. If they manage to keep their line and defend in the parts where I'm constantly searching for a gap to slip through, respect++ to them. I'm not going to do a kamikaze-style pass with 98% chance of the other guy ending up on the gravel.

It's not uncommon for real racing teams to improve their straight-line speed at the expense of lap times. The other cars are materialized in GT5P for a reason, as well. To stop an event such as this from becoming a 5 lap time trial.

Regards,

Karri

It's a sad (tho understandable) fact that in any event, at any pp, one car will come to dominate. The problem is that a halfway decent driver who chooses this car will find anything else on the track is holding him back. A good driver in one will be largely unstoppable and for the rest of us, who decide against the easy option, it means getting beat a lot, even by inferior drivers. Some of the halfway decent lm spec pilots would do well to try and remember that a good driver, in a faster car, will almost always beat the slower one. Overtaking is not supposed to be the easy bit of online racing :sly:

And woe betide a poor lm driver who comes up gainst a good driver in something slower - you aint going to pass him in a hurry, no matter how fast you think you can go

hey mate:) thanks a lot..........you understood what i wanted to express..(where did you learn my language.....frtefgvrjhfrgefhjgfuefvufvfvuzevfuv:sly: )

i really dont understood the bad reactions here.....just give my opinon too....but

i will think about it twice before do it again....i'm scared now...:scared:

Hi Thanos,

As I said... it's my opinion... we're all entitled to have one even if others don't agree:)

However, the way this thread disintegrated in to some fairly personal/childish name calling (etc) isn't really acceptable. Personally, I think some apologies are in order from all of those involved - whether they think they started it or not. Maybe then we could carry on with the decent racing :)
