International Rallycross Thread.

This weekend in the Global Rallycross series features GRC from the country that brought us Rihanna (...uh, yeah.)- Barbados. I hear this is a doubleheader, so everyone will obviously want to do well here before the finale in Las Vegas next month.

Cracking World RX event at Tukey once again, with Hansen taking yet another victory to equal Petter's win tally for this season. Great also to see Bakkerud on the podium for the first time since Lydden Hill, as well as Kristofferson getting 3rd for Team Sweden, meaning it's two on the bounce for the Swede.

On a national level, I will be commentating on the BTRDA Clubmans Rallycross Championship at Blyton Park on October 18th.

This will feature three different Super Modified classes and four different Production classes, as well as classic and BMW Mini's, Junior Rallycross/Minicross, 2WD Rally Cars and the Autocross Class.

The Global Rallycross doubleheader in Barbados at Bushy Park went to Tanner Foust winning both events. The series hosts its season finale in Las Vegas on the weekend of November 7-8. Time to crown a champion!

Congrats to Scott Speed and Volkswagen on their 2015 Red Bull GRC championship and here's to many to come.

Are you listening GM? you NEED to be in this

In that case, all congratulations to former F1 racer Scott Speed and Volkswagen on their GRC Championship triumphs. If the World Rallycross deal was wrapped up, congratulations (driver and manufacturer) to the champions of that series.

As far as GM's involvement, I do think the Chevrolet Sonic should be better marketed in the GRC. The thing I take away is that this Sonic is an all (or mostly) American car. I would think this is something to promote for an American series like Global Rallycross. Only thing I'm unsure of is what team will actually want to promote and race this car in this series, whether for a full-time team or even Privateer or Independent teams.

They have one round left in Argentina 27-29th of november. The drivers title is yet up for grabs (although Petter seems to have a hand on the trophy already). Team Peugeot Hansen has already claimed the manufacturer title.

Amen. Also, after meeting the team in person at the DC round, all I can say is that the car is freaking gorgeous in person. I mean it actually looks like a rally car. The team and Pat Moro themselves are super nice and if I were in a position to do so, I would have set them up with a deal of some kind. Maybe a kickstarter should be in order to make sure they do more events and get exposure. And to show GM and maybe someone like Traxxas that there are better cars than the Fiesta. Also, more VW's

To extend it further, if not the Chevy Sonic, then maybe the Cruze. And besides, who doesn't love a GM vs. Ford rivalry?

He's either getting a new chassis, or he's pulling the Citroen and SDRX - I know their aim was to entice Citroen into a full factory deal.

EDIT - Just slipped "I'm working with a couple of manufacturers" into his interview.

Solberg is your 2015 champion (even before the semifinals; had to get into them at least to get the points he needed), which let's be honest isn't surprising. Says he's in talks with a few manufacturers for the 2016 season, speculation commence

Upon learning of his title

I was in the toilet when I got the news

Tom
I've heard rumours of Toyota. Also, he was offered a factory Peugeot Dakar drive, which could potentially open the door for a 208.
Pretty sure it'll be Toyota given their impending return to rallying. That said, wonder if they'll do a GRC team seeing as how well they have done in NASCAR as well as off road truck racing.
Ooh, an ex-WRC super team with Solberg and Loeb in Hansen Peugeots?

Me likey
I could see Solberg racing for them temporarily if he has an impending deal with a manufacturer currently not racing in rallycross.

I read the news of Ken Block racing in World Rallycross when I poked around Instagram this morning. So it looks like the Hoonigan crew is going on a worldwide awesomeness tour. I wish Ken Block the very best on this World Rallycross tour.

That about sums it up. Also, unless he does a few backdoor GRC races (X Games, Vegas, hopefully DC) that means we'll have one less contending talent/team (bad thing) and one less Ford (good thing). Here's hoping the rest of the teams (Subaru in particular since they stank out loud when they did run and made Pastrana and Lasek miss their home event due to their collective crappiness) step it up or better yet, maybe this'll be the year GM and Toyota announce factory rallycross teams!

All due respect to Global Rallycross, Ken Block is going to be in for a culture shock trying to assimilate to the World Rallycross field. Tougher tracks and greater talent await Block here. I am not saying he doesn't stand a chance in FIA World Rallycross. All I'm saying is that it's going to be a tough one for him. Of course, the Joker Laps in RX aren't shortcuts like in the GRC. I wish Ken Block the best in the RX ranks.

What are OMSE going to do? Will Timur jump into the second team car, or will he stay as the independent entry? It's either him or Kevin Eriksson alongside Nitiss.

I think Nitiss and Timerzyanov is the most likely pairing, with Eriksson out in selected events. Just a hunch.

Very surprised no one has mentioned the 2016 Red Bull Global RallyCross schedule yet

Im thinking we could see three majority dirt based races in Seattle, which probably will be at DirtFish, and Phoenix which I think could be at Bondurant/Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park if its not in Glendale at the University of Phoenix Stadium. But I'm glad to see some returning sites in the schedule as it does give some familiarity to the series that was lacking in the first couple of years

I loved the DirtFish course. That's a very cool course from when I saw the GRC action on TV from there. I probably would like to see in the future a venue in Canada and perhaps even Mexico. Global Rallycross is still a fun-to-watch series. I surely will catch as much action as I can.
