1400 tracks?!
1400 tracks?!
It's quite clearly not 1400 tracks whatever theory you use to fill the holes in the leaked info we got from the Japanese site. What gave you that impression?
Fair enough, it's quite blatantly not what Kaz said though.I believe he thought there is a track for every location (so 70 x 20 =1400)...
But at what point did you just deciede that there's going to be 70 tracks per location? No one has said there's 20 locations and there's 70 tracks in each location, he said there's 20 locations and 70 tracks in thoes locations. We still don't know for certain if that's 70 actual different tracks and the 20 locations is being used as a broad term or if it's 20 tracks and 70 varitations. But there is absolutely no way it's 70 tracks in each of the 20 locations and Kaz didn't say there was.70 variations per 20 locations... 70x20

A livery editor adds the most longevity to a game in my opinion. The game will never have all of the best race car liveries and I could spend years in the livery editor as it is! Its one of the biggest draws of Forza 3 for me.

Agree 100%!
The will be times when you want to play the game outside of simply racing round a track again and again.
I want to spent time tuning a car and honing the set-up. Then I want to edit the bodywork with a nice custom livery.
With Forza, the marketplace where you can sell your tuned and custom painted cars is a massive part of the game. If GT5 doesn't have this, a huge part of the game will be missing in my opinion.
livery Edit feature will Cheapen GT series.
Just a thought of seeing Halo poster image on a hood of beautiful lamborghini or a ferrari makes me want to throw up.
It is a very old photoshopped screenshot from prologueimage
From gameblog's interview, I found this damaged Clio Sport V6 photo that I have never seen before. I thought Kaz said no physical damage on production vehicles

Wow, that's an old pic, I don't know why gameblog has put that in there. In short it is not a GT5 pic, it's a GT5 pic that someone has edited. There was a long discussion about the authenticity of it ages ago and it was well and truely debunked. As Kaz said, they're only concentrated on the damage over the last couple of months to get it to where it is now, and currently there's no cars crumpling up. If you ever get a chance to see the full size version of that pic it becomes obvious it's faked. From gameblog's interview, I found this damaged Clio Sport V6 photo that I have never seen before. So you think that livery editor = Halo posters and stuff like that
I would be happy if we get a livery editor like the one in GRID, the only thing I liked in that game. Then people can't make cars with halo posters
See quoteWow wow wow... slow down, so we have confirmation of the following:
- 70 individual tracks, and not 70 variations of tracks <--not really confirmed yet
- Tire wear and tire heat is simulated in the game
- Weather confirmed yes or no? (french site says yes, IGN says maybe..)
- Day/night cycle confirmed? (again, IGN says maybe, french site says yes.
Wow, if this is not a megaton, i dont know what is! TGS DID deliver, it's the aftermath of interviews that really gives us all the info we wanted so much.
If all of this is true, no wonder it takes them so long to get that all in the game.. impressive and a big thumbs up if true.

Why do people want a livery editor. 1,000 cars with a dozen different colors each. Is that not enough variety?
Let's uphold the sanctity of cars.
Why even have true to life color variations for cars if you can just paint any of them a hot pink?
Forza 3 is a classless game that lets you do classless things like like rewind the game or desecrate fabulous Ferraris and Lamborghini with tasteless designs and images.
To me, personally, the bad that can and has resulted from including a livery editor far outweighs the good a livery editor can be used for, as in team recognition for private online league races.
If GT5 was a racing game that was series specific to lets say V8 Super Cars then a a livery editor wouldn't be such a bad thing because all the cars in the games are racecars and they all have sponsors, images and logos on them. There's also only a small amount of cars to choose from as well so there isn't that much variety. Gran Turismo is a totally different story.
Back on topic,
Can't believe we're hearing YES to weather and day/night in one interview and then MAYBE in another.
GTP is a worldwide website, no French speaking people here to translate properly?
Get a grip. It's a ****ing game, if somebody wants to paint his Ferrari pink, so be it. It's not the end of the world. 💡Why do people want a livery editor. 1,000 cars with a dozen different colors each. Is that not enough variety?

body modification like spoilers and such to affect the performance cars should be the extent of livery edit. my opinion.

For the record, I don't care too much about a livery editor, but I'm sure many people would like to see it in the game, so why not?
My Fiancée translated the French interview and it confirms that weather and day/night cycles are in [her French is nearly on the "native" level, as she has some of her photo shoots there, she must learn the language to get around while she is there]. The interviewer is a close personal friend of Kazunori Yamauchi - a friend he respects and wouldn't lie to. If he told him those features are in, then they are in.
Not a game, GT5 is a simulator
Things like a livery editor will cheapen the game down to Need For Speed level. That may be fine with you, but not me
If GT5 included a rewind button it would be the laughing stock of the simulation world. Nobody is laughing at Forza 3 because nobody considers it a true simulation
Great to hear but I can't understand why he didn't confirm the same in the IGN interview. Maybe he spilled more beans to his friend then he did to someone he did not know. Just like how amar212 knew alot of things about GT5 including the 1,000 car count way before everyone else
