Hi Chris I believe around 2001 was Gran Turismo 2 for me. I was only about 6 years old and my father bought a second hand PS1 off a guy he worked with who I think was upgrading to a PS2. He bought the PS1 with 2 games, Driver 1 and Gran Turismo 2. So I guess those were my first 3D driving gaming experiences as our home PC at the time was only powerful enough for Age of Empires and Red Alert.

I have many fond memories of my father completing the Racing License Challenges (to gold standard) for my brother and I. Now of course I see the PS1 and Gran Turismo 2 was more for him than for us kids 😅

Hey, I remember Driver and Driver 2 which I used to spend 30 hours a week playing, the cop challenges were fun plus the missions of the game were too. Old nostalgia!

For the longest time we were stuck on the first mission in the parking garage as kids. English was our second language so we literally did not know what some of the stunts were that we had to do because we did not know the meaning of the word slalom 😅

Instead we spent hours in the free roam mode on the Miami map seeing who could stay alive the longest or undetected the longest.

Lot's of nostalgia, how we played 2 games for hours, now I stare at my steam library not in the mood for any game so spoilt for choice nowadays.

I found GT Planet randomly when I was looking for car setups and news about GT

. I’m from Rome, the Italian capital. I used to playing GT from 2005 (GT4 old memories…), first with the joystick, then with a Driving Force GT. I love GT Series (All games, even if I stopped playing since 2015 but I still follow the news about GT) as well as Ridge Racer series. I would like to share with you some of my concept cars, as soon as they’re completed (in my avatar there is one of them, in progress)... and among them, some redesigned Vision GT could be hidden

(I was amazed by that project)... but I would like to share above all this passion for cars that connects us all! June is a month full of races (Le Mans 24h and Monza 6h are coming in, to name a few) and I think it is an excellent opportunity to tell legends and myths, also because the automotive language is only one :cheers:

Hi All,

I'm Martin and I'm a new forum member from Ireland.
I found GTPlanet after searching for a forum based community for petrolhead gamers and SIMracing.
I started playing racing games back in the 1990s on a Microsoft Sidewinder forcefeedback wheel playing either F1 or LM24.
I stopped playing for a long time but then found Forza 4 a few years ago, then Forza 5 and very recently made the jump to ACC & AC.

My current gear is a Thrustmaster TS-PC with TLCM pedals.
I'm still a desk racer as I don't have the floor space for a full cockpit. A wheel stand may be an option if I can find something suitably compact for storage.

Looking forward to picking up some hints and tips on the journey from Forza to full online SIM racing.

Hello everyone! Obviously new to this forum and new to Sim racing as well.
I found GTPlanet when I searched for the best SIM forums. So, am glad to be here and hoping to learn a lot.
I'm from the USA and current reside in South Dakota.
I've been playing racing games off and on for a while with a controller, but I've just bought my full racing cockpit, wheel, pedals and dang if I can't find the new Fanatec CSL dd wheelbase. So, I'm stuck waiting to actually jump into some actual racing.
I just got the Fanatec Mclaren wheel and CSL pedals. I plan to get the new CSL DD wheelbase when its available again.
I have been playing a lot of first person shooters, like Division 2, Destiny 2, etc. but want something different to spend time on.
I am really looking forward to learning about the SIM games out there and the racing going on. I plan to start with ACC as its the newest and looks awesome. Iracing looks interesting, but not sure I'm ready to for that kind of financial committment right off the bat.
Anyone running the NLR F-GT cockpit in GT form? Just wondering if you set your pedals up in GT or Formula. I currently have mine set in Formula as I used to race modified dirt track IRL and that feels the closest to to me right now. I've never raced on pavement IRL, but have always wanted to.

Yeah Google led me to GT Planet too plus I saw a Youtube video telling me about their site last summer so that's what brought me here for help/assistance with Sport mode/campaign mode.

Used to play gt1 to 5 and took a break for 6 and Sport (always a controller player always single player) and now I am back to the series and gtplanet has been helpful so I decided instead of lurking (since the release of gt7) to actually make an account.

Hi everyone!

I'm Alex from Romania. I've been enjoying Gran Turismo since the 1st one on the PS1, a very long time ago (feel so old... Lol). Played every one of them except GT6. Since trying Sport out a few months ago, I've been hooked into online racing, I never was a fan of it until Sport, but my heart is still in the Single Player heaven that GT2 and 4 were.
That being said, I've become really competitive online, reached DR B in Sport, almost A, but only played for a month online, so I would say that's pretty decent

I'm playing on the controller, with motion sensing (yeah lol, I'm not capable of being precise with the stick).
Found you guys when I began being fed up with the mess GT7 is at the moment, and started looking for opinions online, you were the top hit everytime. So I decided to join in and start complaining 🤣

i'm jon, i found this website by looking if anyone else hated the new beetle;
i am from brazil;
i started plaing racing games probally when i got my one s or 2017, when i entered roblox;
i do not play with a steering wheel, i use a regular controller;
pokemon diamond. that's it;
just being here and talking and enjoying stuff.

Hello !

My name is Soufiane, i am from France.
I've been riding virtually since 2015.

I started with a T300 on assetto corsa and i spent more time modding the game
with my catastrophic connection than driving.

Now i have a Fanatec clubsport 2.5 with a steering wheel porsche 918 RSR and i play in VR with a Valve Index.

I'm driving right now on Automobilista 2 and Dirt 2.0 .

And i try to use my fanatec to drive on GT7 with the drive hub.
Well I must admit that it is mainly for this reason that i use this website for the moment.
On the other hand, the community on the forum seems mature, i therefore think more often to go to this community to obtain information .

Been playing racing games since mario kart on SNES, through multiple consoles, loved Motorstorm series.

Got my first steering wheel (G29) a month ago after suffering a stroke last year which left me unable to use a controller properly (should have got one years ago as much more fun).

Used to be a big fan of Destiny before the stroke, also HZD & GOW.

Looking forward to finding out any tips to give me a better chance to improve my performance.
