Also I was wondering if you have the iphone 5 and put it in a dock to charge at work are whatever can you not listen to music with the headphones? I assume it would be covered since it's at the bottom.

That problem would be fixed if the dock has a headphone port.

Glad Google Maps finally came out. I didn't really have much of an issue with the Apple Maps since they got me where I needed to be when I used them, but I prefer the Google ones just because I'm used to them.

Apple maps just sucks because it took away so many features. It's not horrible if you live in a big city and just want a simple driving direction tho. Google maps is always gonna be better because they been doing it so long. Plus since it's account based all your stuff is synced. I can add my house online and it will show up as my house on my iphone and android stuff too.

I must admit, Google maps has taken over Apple's own mapping on my phone. I will still use the Big Fruit's solution only because of its integration with Siri. In case none iPhone users were interested the look is very much different.

The iPhone 5 is ok I guess...I mean it's faster, better than my one year old iPhone 4 (jailbreak). Not that much difference than the old phone. At least it's cheaper buying here than back at my home country. (£529 vs £800+)

How do you get LTE on O2 UK?

This has been the worst phone I have ever owned. The microphone for the phone is horrible. If it's not in the perfect spot on your face no one can hear you. Plus it drops wifi signals like crazy. I can't even use wifi and have to use cell towers for my internet 90% of the time. This will be my last iphone. I'm really tempted to sell it and go back to my 3Gs until I my contract is up.

Has anyone in here figured out a fix for the wifi problems on them. My wifes does the exact same thing. It just drops the signal constantly and then you have to actually turn wifi off to be able to even use the
4G. My old 3Gs though works fine here on the wifi. I thought I was having router problems so I messed with my network forever and it didn't help at all. I did though get my laptops and ipads to stay connected a little better.

My mom just bought the iphone 5 and her complaints are the phone call quality as she says it's tough to hear people even with volume turned up max and battery life. As well as the Nazi Germany control apple has over it not allowing you to do basic things like add a ring tone easily. However these are problems iphone always had and new things like dropping wifi I haven't heard of before. Go to settings than find updates. You should be at 6.0.2 or something like that. Other than that call them because it should pick it up fine.

Both of ours are up to date. I didn't have the wifi problem until I did the wifi fix update. I can hear people fine on mine though, it has a really loud speaker it's just the mic that drives me nuts.
Hopefully they fix the wifi through an update soon. I'll give it another month or so then sell it if they don't get it fixed.

People could understand me clearly until I put this heavy duty case on it. Once I did that, people had a hard time hearing me, and it was harder for me to hear them. My solution was to get an ear piece, a Jawbone ERA to be exact. I had plans to get one anyways, but was forced to get one sooner because of the inaudibility the case made the iPhone.

I have not had any wifi dropping issues, or any other issues for that matter. I'm sure once I drop it and kick it a few times, problems will start popping up as with all the phones I have owned. :)

You can't currently get LTE on O2 in the UK. The only 4G provider is currently EE with the rest of the carriers being given LTE rights late 2013 if I remember correctly.

lol ok ironically my mom's iPhone 5 no longer connects to wifi. Worked fine than did the update and still worked fine until about 2 days ago. No idea why. I have read that it works on open or WEP networks fine, but WEP sucks and open obviously really sucks for security. Connecting to wifi is something that shouldn't even be an issue this far into the smart phone game. Especially for apple who charge $700 for the worst 16gb model.

I have this problem too but after rebooting it works fine. Have your mother tried rebooting?

And I'm so glad it's not from glass anymore. I was always lucky with my iPhone 4, it fell regularly but always on something soft. But a few days ago the 5 fell and to brake it's fall I kicked it away with my foot  All edges are messed up now haha. Imagin that being the iPhone 4, I might had to clean all the glass :dunce:

But I'm still happy with it. It's quite fast, works like all the time, only the battery sucks, I have to charge it at home AND at work. Luckily that's not a big deal but if I would have worked in a place I couldn't recharge my phone when ever I wanted, I might had a problem. I have a few collegues who also own an iPhone 5 and they all bring their charger with them....

If I'm going somewhere I always have to think: am I going to be able to recharge? I'm getting tired of thinking that. It just shouldn't die on my within 12 hours. I used my iPhone4 for the same things (Spotify, Whatsapp and Safari are almost the only things I use (no social media)), I almost never had a battery problem :indiff:

The camera is pretty sweet but the camera is a lot darker when taking panoramas. So here is the panorama:

And this is a minute earlier but just a photo of the front:

In this case is doesn't look bad but you're sometimes missing things in photos.. :indiff: So instead of megapixels they should work on a good lens.

Problems I had:
Push messages were upside down (WTF?) (messages like: Battery almost down (or whatever it is in this language))
Not vibrating or vibrating many times with only 1 message
While connected to WiFi it will still display it's only connected with 3g while in the settings menu it says it is connected to WiFi (not have had this problem since the update though)
Safari randomly not loading pages, going back 1 page and pressing the link again might work sometimes but regularly I have to open a new tab till it starts loading again.
Safari AND Chrome both same problem: Pasting something (in Wordpress on mobile) in the text box, it will put it in the title and I am getting pretty angry over that so I'm not even trying that anymore.

The latest update was because it had this wifi problem and this update was to fix it. It seems to have fixed some, done nothing, or crated wifi issues for others. Apple makes routers that are awesome yet always have connection to wifi problems on their devices for some reason. My 3gs to this day still gets slow wifi speeds. I restarted her phone like 40 times but it just connects sometimes or not at all but always drops it eventually.

In terms of pictures this is a problem all phones have. They keep bumping the mega pixels when the real problem is so many other factors. I have the S3 and it takes pretty much equally as good pics but low light situations looks all grainy.

Battery for iphone always suck but at least it charges fast. I remember mine would be pretty much zero, I'd plug it in and go take a shower, come back and see 25% already. These larger battery phones take so much longer to charge. Pros and cons either way.

@ Carlos

I agree about the panorama shots, unfortunatly its not the gratest. I sometimes use a seperate app for those shots if its a dark scene.

Ok a little wifi problem update. It seems that the problem may be range. For some reason it seems to be picking up the wifi signal than dropping it and switching to LTE. I told my mom maybe try logging into wifi near the router and she said it worked. Before it wouldn't even connect. Last time I saw her phone it has only 1 bar on signal while my phone and other products were full. Hopefully apple gets to the bottom of this.

Probably because the S3 have a plastic body which makes signal reception a lot better than the glass and aluminum body of the ip5.

Phone cameras will never stand up to even just a decent point and shoot camera, their sensors are too small to be any good at night, not to mention their lack of zoom.

My iPhone 5 battery lasts between 2 and 5 days depending on how I use it. Battery drain with cellular data on is a bit ridiculous. Full LTE signal where I live btw.

Lolol depending on how you use it. I think you mean no use what so ever with air plane mode on will last that long.

...I use the thing. Airplane mode off. I use 4G and LTE, GTPlanet app, Safari, etc.

I have location services off, bluetooth off, notifications off, push and fetch off, unless I need any of those then I turn it on.

I get a days worth of battery life on mine while using LTE. It's not super intensive though, just email mostly and occasionally browsing reddit or GTP. When I listen to Spotify on it I pretty much always have it plugged in, but the battery life isn't awful when it's not.

I get 2 days using mine and that's 1:30h on the way in to work 1h at lunch and 1:30h on way home plus at night while at home or durin the day because I use it as a remote for Apple TV-v3.

I use apps inc games ect and browsing safari, FB, twitter, email ect.

If I'm at 100% battery and play "the walking dead" game with brightness up full, I can nail it in a couple of hours.

Ill be sticking with iPhone 4, and maybe upgrade to a 4S, Apparently the iPhone 5 won't properly drive a good set of headphones (Full sized Grado's or Sennheiser's) to a suitable volume level.

Nor will they fit on this without a cheap adapter. Damn that new plug !

Maybe the volume limit is activated? I disabled this option on my iPhone 5. It was limited, apparently, according to the EU rules.

I did mention some time ago when the iPhone 5 came out that I would wait for the iPhone 5S, and would continue to use my trusty old 1Phone 3S till that happened.

Ordered the 5S (in Gold, 32 GB) finally, the day before yesterday, and jeepers, CanadaPost delivered it yesterday. That was fast, and my faith in CanadaPost is restored.

Well, today, it still sits in the box, unopened:

Still using the 3GS.
It does keep ringing.

Need to open box. Open box, Harry! Activate 5S!

Hm. Maybe later.

Before you do.

Get your sim swapped to the nano size(4FF) first.

Heh heh - thanks for jumping in there and trying to save my ass, Foxywoxy - much appreciated; I'll try to make sure I invite you to my next wedding (a friend in need is a friend indeed? )
Fortunately, the tech that served me made sure I had the latest model, nano sim and all, so I was okay.

Just activated it this morning - gave the 3S to my son; he's now got more electronics around him than Arthur C. Clarke used to have in his Ego Den.

Yes, young people and wearable technology . . . *sigh.

Then again . . I remember my first computer . . it was a BBC Owl - seems like several generations ago, and here I'm still wired.

Sorry for the bump, but I got an iPhone 5C not long ago and since I bought it, it's had an unresponsive screen problem about 4 times (it's only like 2 months old). Sometimes (usually it seems to be after a text has come through) when I click the unlock/home button to wake the phone up, then try slide my finger on the screen, nothing happens, the screen is just completely unresponsive, and I have to restart the phone. Is there anything I can do, or is it just one of those things?
It doesn't happen that often but as I said about 4 times in 2 months.
