First off congrats on your Championship Madison! Very well deserved indeed! Second, are you planning on participating in any of the new multiclass races with the HPD ARX-01c and the Ford GT? Since you dominated the V8 series maybe it's time for a new challenge! :P

Thanks mate! I don't plan on running the full series but i'll definitely do the odd race here and there. I don't just race the V8, but it is one of few series that I actually go for a championship win in. So you'll see me racing other series' but just not as seriously.

Great, I just updated 700MB of files last night, didn't even get to play it yet and now I'll have to do it again. :P

Luckily for me I've got to wait a bit longer, just means I'll be jumping straight into the new stuff! (when I get to the appropriate class ofcourse :P)

So I was just in my first race on Okayama Full. I started in 6th, worked my way up to 1st after an awesome battle. I then blew it on that long back straight on lap 8. I blipped down into third, blipped again into second but I was too quick. NYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNN, BANG, engine blew :(. The guy I was racing with gave me his sympathy and away the race went, without me :P.

Off to the next race.

EDIT: Yay, started 10th, finished 3rd. I did a few laps in 2nd but the guy behind was about half a second quicker each lap. I also only got 1 incident which boosted the SR fairly well.

Also, I am running 12l of fuel and it finishes the race with 1-2 laps left in it :P. I think I had 1.5 or 2 liters left by the end of it. The lap times get so much quicker when the car is nearly empty.

I just did a race in Okayama too. Didn't knew the track and it's my first time with the MX-5. Practiced it for about twenty minutes and decided to try a race. Started 18th and managed to finish 10th without any major incidents.

I think I was using the wrong gears in some turns, judging by the replay of the other drivers after the race. I was doing 1:52 and the top drivers were doing 1:49.

What's the best time to change gears in the MX-5? I'm changing just after the second red light turns on.

BTW, if anyone wants to add me my name is Felipe Andre.

I just did another race, started in 6th and made it to 1st with a 20 second lead. The people I am racing are good, they don't spin or crash or any of that but I take it they don't know the track at all. I didn't know it but its already one of my favourites, great fun to drive.

Make sure you change gear as late as possible, I always change right before the limiter. Thats where the power is, in the powerband. When you change gears at the end of the powerband you are usually straight back into it on the next gear which is going to get the most out of the car. Early shifting will probably have people getting you on the straight 👍.

Oh cool, it wasn't going to bother me because I have work tonight but I know alot of Aussies play at that time which would have been an inconvenience.

EDIT: Aaaanndd after working my SR up today, I get put in a race with a bunch of loonies, 12 incident in the first lap. I just left.

EDIT 2: I just finished another race, it was a 20 lap race with some really nice guys but it was a huge mess at the start. On the first corner something happened (ran out of memory to store the start of the replay) which caused me and everyone around me to smash our brake pedals. We were all at a standstill at the first corner. I got a 0x contact penalty, I pushed my way from 14th into 6th through the carnage. We were taking the last corner when two of the friendly guys took each other out and ended up right on the racing line. I hit the brakes again and hit one of them at around 20km/h which was enough to screw my steering. After getting an off track penalty from being unable to judge my steering I decided against going for a good position so I headed into the pits. The repair took 15 seconds and I finished the race not even one lap down :).

So my rating has gone from 3.12 this morning, up to 3.39 and now back to 3.12 in two races. Hmm. I really want my C license :(.

A bit disappointed that the new build won't be out as soon as we thought but I semi expected it.... 👎

So when they emailed me about a week ago saying iRacing 2.0 would be released in a week, they lied? ^^

I let my subscription slip a while back as I was waiting for 2.0 to come out before I resubbed.

Just in case you guys missed it.

Hey Guys,

Sorry for the delay in posting, quite honestly I went to bed early last night as I am traveling very early this morning and thought somebody else had posted. My apologizes.

The reason for the delay is quite simply we ran out of time yesterday to get the final release candidate going for final testing. We also wanted to get a few more setups done for the release so you guys had some baselines to work from. As it is we are only going to have a handful of setups done for each car and will do another update again in the coming weeks to add more.

Again, apologizes for the delay and I think the wait will be worth it. I spent all day yesterday driving the new cars in only testing mode and I had a blast.

As far as I know, no they have not, assuming it is not buried somewhere in the forums.

I find it quite odd that they planned on doing final testing of the RC the day before the scheduled update. The RC should of been released weeks ago.

Sorry about the winking.

Release notes available tonight
Our plan is to start the build tomorrow morning, morning meaning the morning in the eastern time zone of the United States. Tonight as defined as after 6:00PM in the same time zone.

For the future, we traditionally have 4 major software updates per year, and often refer to them as builds. By design, they are scheduled to be done in what we call week 13, which is the week in between our standard 12 week seasons. They typically could be done anytime during that week depending on a variety of factors. During that week, we like to schedule the members build in advance based on how we see the timing of our release process playing out to provide notice to members so as to try not to interupt any racing they might be planning. However, although our last 4 builds have gone smoothly and according to our initial schedule, sometimes we find something we don't like in the 11th hour or something we think we can make better last minute but then we have to go through the whole release process again but we think worth doing it and delaying a a day or two so long as we get build out in the 13th week.

Good Racing
