iRacing Paint Schemes Thread

Still stuck on 1 thing. How do you paste a sponsor onto you car in GIMP? I know how to do it on paint.NET (It's something like Paste New Layer) but can't find a way for GIMP.

If you mean a sponsor from the internet, the you copy the picture and create a new document In gimp. Edit it then paste it onto the template.

Yup. For me I have to copy and paste the sponsor into a word document for it to show up in Gimp.

Yup. For me I have to copy and paste the sponsor into a word document for it to show up in Gimp.

Weird, I can paste stuff straight into GIMP easy enough.

I generally do open a new window when adding decals though so I can edit them and remove the backgrounds (make them alpha) and touch up any bits or remove parts I don't want. Its very rare for me to find the images I want to be perfect already.

Can't make it work myself. First time I saved it about 30 layers stuck together. So I couldn't get the FedEx colours the second time I opened it. And I take 20 minutes to get a logo the right size, then can I actually start making the logo go to the right place..

Really would do it myself but I'm too accustomed to Paint.NET If anyone can find a way to make Paint.NET work with these files please tell me. Then I have no problem doing it myself.

I want some opinions on a paint scheme idea. First off let me say most NASCAR based schemes have way too much black for me honestly but very few I like that I'd want to run long term.

Now I tend to try to run something based off driver I actually like and follow, and Ryan Newman's Outback scheme actually seems pretty nice while not being in your face either (was thinking of Paul Menard's 2012 Peak/Menard's), but I was thinking of doing one or two things.

1. The tan top half using a brownish/tan desert digital style camo instead of the flat tan color?

2, adding some teal color (like Phx) to scheme in the waves toward the bottom instead of camo?

3. Run it as is on a Silverado with black bed to break up the scheme a touch.

Any input or suggestions would be awesome, I've even thought of trying to design a simple nice scheme around SweetWater Brewery too.
